A Great Game |
| Nathan from Antioch, USA says (23/Nov/2003): |
I thought that the game was going to be better but, I like it alot more then 2003. I thought the ownwer mode was cool. This game was geared towards real life because of the training camps and other stuff in franchise. I am the Raiders right now and we are doing good and after my first few seasons i signed Jerry Rice as my head coach.Plus i signed Rich Gannon as my offensive coordinator. I would recomend this game to whoever likes realistic game play and is waiting for a good NFL game up to date.

fix these stupid glitches. |
| jaron blueford from warren, mi says (22/Mar/2004): |
I love madden. I love football. But I am sick and tired of all of the glitches. I can deal with people using some glitches like blocking field goal and that one reciever hot route (you real gamers know which one.) But I can not deal with the quitting cheat. I call it the quitting cheat because a person can quit the game when he or she is losing and get the win. I would explain how they do it but I do not want to taint madden 04 online any more than it already is. Rankers particualarly are guilty of using this cheat the most. This cheat has cost me games against rankers. Rankers that I was beating. I had the #12 guy beat by 11 with about 2:10 left in the game. He used the glitch. I had another ranker, who was in the 5000's beat. I used the glitch. Its a bunch of bull. This really makes me not want to play anymore or just stick to playin people I know. But if that is the case, what is the point of having games online. EA sports needs to fix this....NOW!

Madden is the way I'll play..... |
| geO from so.Cali from Ontario-CA-USA says (18/Aug/2003): |
-Personally i think that this Madden compared to last years is not everything id hoped for b4 i bought it. I love the new plays and formations, but the graphics are basically the same (besides a little more detail). on the back of the game cover they advertise 100's of new animations....ive probably seen 20 at the most.
-i agree with a lot of people by sayin the soundtrack is not impresive at all...i want everyone to know i hate that track that screams "If i was on offense i would be a tackler..." i had to turn that OFF...thank god for JUKEBOX
the new features of owner mode is pretty cool, and love over charging them rich asses for their seats...and i give the middle decks low prices, cuz thats what id would like in reality.
so why i give it an 8 instead of a 10 is basically it didnt amaze me as much as 2003 did when i first played that one. if you're wonderin if you should buy it...do it...its worth the cash. but dont expect a totally new game with totally new commentary. you'll still get classics like "just put your hand up and WHAP it down!"
-i like the ideas of one reviewer of putting highlights of other games into the half-ass half-time show...that sounds dope (or at least have a real segment of each of the actual cheerleader squads shakin it) or just anything to keep me from pushin start to skip the damn part.
-the feature i jock most from this is the Playmaker Control, that is what really gets me about this game, and how you can make more decisions out on the field.
-the most hated feature is the 4th quarter "computer sudden shift to SUPER-TEAM" to get a victory....makes me want to brake the damn thing! i thought it was just me, but after reading some other reviewers complain, makes me kno that im not the only one getting spankt in final minutes.
-I recently heard of a rumor of the MADDEN cover curse....(who ever is on it will have a bad next season or get an injury)...well the news of Vick's injury really sucks and i hope he puts an end to the curse. if its even true...
-thats my 2cents
-peace!

Footballin' Madden Style! |
| Hana_Brudduh from Kane'ohe, Hawaii says (18/Aug/2003): |
I think that Madden NFL 2004 is by far the best Madden installment yet. However, as much as this game rocks and rolls it's way to the title for this years best football video game, it could still use some improvements, well actually one. I wish the player was able to edit or create a coach and use it in the Franchise / Owners mode. I haven't reached the end of a franchise season yet, but I wish you could make changes to the coaches or edit them prior to the start of the season. I also like the idea of the training camp at the start of your franchise. I like the way EASports added it in there. Other than that, this game rocks!

If only.................... |
| Sean from Winnipeg,Manitoba,Canada says (11/Nov/2003): |
this game all most perfect because of it gameplay but i hate the challages because its cheap the refs are blind. The worst thing is that Vicks too good same with Shockey he suxs.I think they should have CFL teams not Europe because i never watch Europe games but I love CFL.The playmaker is hard to do if your running the ball because its hard to juke and stuff while telling blockers to block some one.The 4th quarter comeback pisses me off you got the game won then you lose by a last second field goal which they rarly miss.BUT THIS GAME IS STILL THE BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost Great |
| Chris Blood from Fresno, CA U.S.A. says (31/Mar/2004): |
This game almost had it all ... graphics, sound, teams, fantasy, draft and especially the thrill of online competition. For reasons unknown, the online factor fell through completely. Granted, most games play pretty well as long as the connection is good, but the stupid gliches in this game are a travesty to both video games AND football itself.
Madden 2004 was created to simulate NFL football, yet guys online can win games without a an ounce of actual football knowledge as well as the ability to screw your record up. I really pray that in future games these problems are worked out. I realized this week that I haven't played online in over two weeks and that follows about 4 months of playing this game non-stop, day in, day out. There is so much there for it to be ruined by both technical oversites AND the chuildren, regardless of their age, that have such little life and identity to go screwing around with something they're not qualified to be a part of. I may never play online again.
Franchise mode has been fun but even that's limited because the computer has a football brain the size of a peanut ... yet can destroy you whenever. Playing another human is where it's at and online is THE place to do that given your opponent can't see you audibles and hot routes. EA needs to dot more i's and cross more t's before releasing the next game. As it stands, I will not be the first in line to pick it up choosing to sit back for a couple of months to see what people are saying. If EA doesn't fix it, they'll make less on the next game than they did this one ... their accountants certainly don't want that. We shall see.

Good, but could be made better in '05 |
| Erik from Brookhaven, PA , USA says (18/Nov/2003): |
Great game, but they tease you with the historic teams. They need to give the names and correct numbers for historic players. You should also be able to trade or sign the historic players to your team. now I have to find all the old rosters online so I can spend forever adjusting the historic teams to be correct. I like the graphics and gameplay. The owner mode is cool. I still have trouble with the cap though. I build a team that is good for one or two years, but then I don't have enough cap space to sign players through the draft. But the best would be able to sign the old "Steel Curtin" and the new Rams offense for example. Bottom line name and properly number Historic players, and make them available for trade to a new era team.

madden iz the best football game out there |
| MADDEN RULEZ from CALIFORNIA ,USA says (14/Dec/2003): |
ok madden iz one of the best football games out the graphics music iz kool so iz the kool owners mode but for the people saying that madden iz too hard in pro they must not be that good at madden to say that of course its tough itz all madden or all pro the best madden fans beat any team anywhere any difficulty its not so tough if youve played all the maddens in the past and got your favorite football team down and know everything about them and please look at all your recievers not just 1 or youll be throwing interceptions all day and fumbling heh stop trying to juke so much maybe and use the new play maker controls thats also a new good part about this game the playmaker control when you get in trouble or are trying to make a big play use the playmaker and control your reciever to and open area on the field then walla first down madden looks way better in graphics then last years madden only thing iz the gameplay iz alittle weaker than 2003 but still a great game ooh yea madden please shut up im starting to get annoyed by you too go get on your little bus and drive away i seem to know more about football than you and ive never played in the NFL heh

this game rocks |
| A gamer from Silver Spring, MD, United States says (5/Aug/2003): |
This game is so cool. Its got an awsome franchise that is much better than madden 2003. Its got graphics that cant be topped. It has better tackles, better gameplay. It seems like you are really in the game. They have better camera angles. Also they have an enhanced create a player mode. This game has everything that madden 2003 has and more.

Best yet in the Maddes series |
| Orlando from Boston,USA says (9/Aug/2003): |
This game covers every aspect you could want in a football sim. Everything that the 2k/espn football titles have missed is made up in this game. With the returning mini camp mode and the same great graphics it is hard to say no to this game. Also the addition of the new playmaker mode witch just in case any of you have lived under a rock for the past couple of months, is a great feature that is revoloutionary to the industry uses the same basic consept of the NBA live 2003 freestyle stick and brings it over into the madden series. For example say you anticipate a pass play by the opposing team so you have a set that allows your defense to spread back, and out of nowhere they run it on you toggle the stick and your safties come flying into the pocket. Also to add more depth to the franchise mode they have added a owners mode. Thats right you get to own a NFL team. You are in charge of higering and fiering personal and tweaking prices of consession items and ticket prices all the while being able to move your team to a whole new city and state. And on top of that change the uniforms, and did I almost forget the best feature of all you get to creat your own stadium. Thats right creat it from literally the ground up. so you can see why this game is a must for all even if your not a football fan but just want to have fun or you are just into sims do yourselfs a favror and buy this game

NEW MADDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| A gamer from pennsylvania, usa says (12/Aug/2003): |
Its a new madden game, need i say more? Madden is the top football game each year, and this year will be no different. Last years was great, this years is even better. The franchise mode allows everything from player bonuses to prices of food at your games, not to mention online play. EA sports does it again.

Out of this World |
| OttWolves from Canada says (13/Aug/2003): |
Every single, little thing that irked my about the Madden Franchise has been answered. The gameplay is smoother, the graphics are tighter. Little things like when you roll the QB out to one side the camera angle skews a little bit so you can see towards the other side of the field, that little box that tells you how many opposing RB, WR & TE are on the field when you are calling your plays on D. And the owner mode.....Forget About It. Lights out the best FBall I have played.

Madden hikes up the scale this year! |
| Antione from Raleigh, Nc us says (13/Aug/2003): |
Madden has always been a housewhole name but I've always had issues every title they presented. The only thing this year I was worried about was the passing and how all most every receiver in Madden would catch these overthrown, 10sec in the air passes, while being guarded by 3defensive cornerbacks. Madden has answer the call this year with the reaction speed of offense and defense. I think this year will be greatest of all in Madden but I'am sure I'll have more issues once I turely get into the game more. I give it an 8 because I want better graphics in the crowd and people leaving there seats when getting blown out. Over all this game could be one to remenber. Good job providing I dont find my glichtes. And please stop putting cheats codes in games, that what's NFL street is for.

Only Negative |
| Myk_C from Fayetteville, AR says (14/Aug/2003): |
The only thing stopping me from giving Madden a 10 is the music soundtrack. Many of the songs are flat out annoying, loud, and repetitive. There is a mix of rock and rap but it seems more rock oriented. The crazy thing is you will hear the awful songs more than the decent ones. Add this to the fact that you cannot switch tracks or turn off the music and you have yourself a definite detraction from the game. These annoyances are particularly noticible in the training/mini camp modes.
|
The Best one Yet! |
| Charles from St.Louis, MO says (14/Aug/2003): |
This Madden is the best one yet. It now gives you playmaker abilities to control everything your players do. I got my copy of Madden 2004 early to get some extra practice time, I suggest you do the same. With new features you can now own your own team and make valuable descsions like hireing coaches, signing players, prices of tickets, and everything that the owner has to do. I say it puts more fun into the game.

Awsome |
| A gamer from haslett,michigan says (14/Aug/2003): |
this game is great but the only bad thing about this game you cant scramble easy like in madden 03 where you could push the triangle button to scramble. thats the only thing wrong i think with this years great awsom game. i just love it i hope 2005 is so much better than this game then madden will be the alltime best football game around
|
this is cool |
| eric from california says (14/Aug/2003): |

A solider from North Memphis Tennessee |
| Shawn Morgan from Landover MD USA says (14/Aug/2003): |
This game was lame i expected highlights from other games at halftime. No McDonalds Highlights during the game like they do on Fox 5. What they need to do is get contracts to all commentators say Week 1 how can Michaels and Madden call all those games wheres Dick Stockton and Moose Johnston. Also they dont keep you updated week by week stats what i mean is say you sim the eagles game in week 13 you dont know how many yards mcnabb threw or ran in that single game but you get the whole season stats also on historic mode how come the players are not named I know the deal about the contracts but still at least have the right jersey number Barry Sanders wore no20 not no number 40 and at least name some players like on rams 99 packers 96 favre and faulk bruce and warner still plays on their teams.
|
Best Madden EVER! |
| A-Town from Phoenix,Az USA says (14/Aug/2003): |
This is the most amazing football game ever created, from the graphics to the sounds, franchise owner mode, you name it and madden has it. Really there's no need for any other company to try and compete, because practice makes perfect the other Maddens were practice now it's perfect!
