Deep Game With Many Features |

Last year I purchased NFL2K3 for PS2 and I was happy with the game overall. This year I decided to give Madden a try because I knew that neither game would disappoint this year. The first thing I noticed about the game is there are many play modes and features. The owner mode for me is great because I'm into the financial aspect of sports too. It's amazing the amount of control you have in this game from on the field to off the field. On the field they have added playmaker control meaning you can change your strategy for a play before the snap on offense and defense. This adds for more control than just the common audible system. The game is fun to play and pretty challenging so far, but no game can hold me back for long.
My complaints are that the graphics are a little behind the NFL2K (now ESPN football) series. Graphically in my opinion Madden doesn't compete, but obviously there are other reasons to buy games than just how they look. The sounds are a little weak in some areas and of course commentary will never be what we all wish it would be. Other than those 2 weak areas the game is deep enough to keep you playing for a long time. I know I will!!

THE PATRIOTS ARE THE BEST. The best thing about using the New England Patriots, is that they have good defense and good offense along with special teams. The only thing that you need to worry about is the offense and deffensive lines. When on defense, I find it best to use either Rodney Harrison or Lawyer Milloy in the strong and far safety positions so that you can blitz if you have to or double check the wide recievers and wideouts. Also you can pick off passes for easy interceptions and the two safeties have good speed so that they can return the interception for some yards.
On offense you should usually hit the wide recievers on the slants or if one of them is doing a curl or button hook. Try not to throw it down the middle because there is a high chance that it will get picked off. Also trade Corey Dillon to the New England Patriots because he is a strong running back and unstoppable if you know how to use him. You should always take it mostly up the middle of the field and stiff arm a lot as well as side stepping and spinning to get extra yardage. Corey Dillon rarely fumbles, so use that to your advantage and dont be afraid to truck people. IM done have fun.

Madden 2004 is a great game the graphics have not changed much but the online mode and owner mode are awsome.I think in the next 3 years its going to be like playing the real people its just great. This is the best sports game i have ever played in my life. The franchise mode is awesome how you can set prices, but the gameplay is awesome. The game is very realistic, and the soundtrack is the best in ANY game. If you have the network adapter and can play online, its even better. If you don't have this game, don't be afraid to buy it. Online is hard, but even so its addicting. I give it nine stars. Madden 2004 by far the most realistic gameplays ever..All the people complaining about throwing interceptions, learn to run the ball, it isn't that hard to do, even if you only get a few yards at a crack. Then you can throw in a play action and its easy picking. But yes sometimes it won't work and you'll get burnt by a DB staying home. Also use your hot routes to your advantage if you see a DB backing off a reciever have him do a 5 yard hook. ok madden iz one of the best football games out the graphics music iz kool so iz the kool owners mode but for the people saying that madden iz too hard in pro they must not be that good at madden to say that of course its tough itz all madden or all pro the best madden fans beat any team anywhere any difficulty its not so tough if youve played all the maddens in the past and got your favorite football team down and know everything about them and please look at all your recievers not just 1 or youll be throwing interceptions all day and fumbling heh stop trying to juke so much maybe and use the new play maker controls thats also a new good part about this game the playmaker control when you get in trouble or are trying to make a big play use the playmaker and control your reciever to and open area on the field then walla first down madden looks way better in graphics then last years madden only thing iz the gameplay iz alittle weaker than 2003 but still a great game ooh yea madden please shut up im starting to get annoyed by you too go get on your little bus and drive away i seem to know more about football than you and ive never played in the NFL heh

This is one of the best games ive ever played. It is absolutely flawless. On top of great gameplay, the playmaker control is off the heazy!!!! You can change your safety to cheat on the reciever, you can change your "go to guy" route in a flash..... This is an awesome game. Also, the ability to play as the NFL Europe teams adds alot of depth to Madden that it didn't used to have. As well as the playmaker control, and the NFL Europe teams, the new Owner Mode makes this THE deepest game I have ever seen, or ever played. I think it is so cool that you can set the price of your concessions!!!! That just blows my mind. Another extra added to this year's games are the EA Sports Bio. I beleive that EA Sports is smart to have a thing where you can unlock secrets to other games by just playing one or two of the new titles. Additionally, the Create-a-Team feature is a really cool way of taking the create-a-player mode one step farther.Finally, here is my table of scores for Madden 2004 in 5 categories, 10 being the best, 1 being the worst:

I have read about 15-20 reviews and they seem like they're all the same, either you are good and your talking sh!t or your bad and talking sh!t about the game. For all the people who get sacked all the time I have Byron Leftwitch(45 speed) and get sacked 5 times a year and Johnathon Ogden has 75 pancakes in the first 8 games. (3 OTHER offensive lineman are in the probowl). So if you guys get sacked to much it's just you and you need to work on the pocket pressence drill. And you guys say that you can't get any interceptions on defense, I have the 5 DB's in the NFL best defensive backs and 3 cornerbacks, 2 safeties in the probowl(All 3 cornerbacks have 10 INT. or more, FS has 7, and SS has 6. The game has great game play and the new tackling is better although 2k3's is better, I like the commentary and new owner mode. One of the best things is that Peyton Manning calls audibles at the line if he doesn't like the coverage. This goes to everyone who leaves reviews and claims they are the best at Madden 2004 if it doesn't already exist lets get a Madden Tournament and see who is the best.

Way too many fumbles!! The only reason i complain, is because out of the last 9 times i had the ball, I scored 2 touchdowns and threw 7 interceptions... I AM NOT KIDDING!!!
Plain and simple, there are too many things that try to make it real, but just make it fake.
It can be fun, but the interceptions are unrealistic. It is not ulikely to have a game with a combined 7 or 10 interceptions. Do not buy this game if you like realistic football. DO buy this game if you dont take it too seriously, it is fun with friends and times like that.

This is the best sports game i have ever played in my life. The franchise mode is awesome how you can set prices, but the gameplay is awesome. Another cool thing is that if you have online, you can update the rosters and its cool b/c those rosters go offline too. Headset is good for it too, though i dont have one yet, im gonna buy one. The playmakers are cool, but the best part is that you can do soooo much on defense such as shifting the corner backs and safetys to tighter D, or loosing them up for a pass. You can do the same w/ linebackers, but you can move them up for a blitz or back for a cover. AND the defensive line can tighten up or loosen out. Its so cool. buy it

Where do I start? Madden has done it again. Every year I play till the next one comes out, always to the day it comes out. I am a big time Falcon fan (not just cuz of Vick like other bandwagon jumpers) for years now. Vick's speed is realistic, and so are all the linebacker speeds. Alot are as fast as running backs and possession receivers. The tackles are very nice, the new accellerated clock is perfect for time of possession realism, and the owner mode? Whoa. I am about to put the Falcons in a new Hi Tech Stadium and raise the prices of everything, everyone wants to see Vick. jk There is just a few suggestions I have, like maybe they should make Madden a linkable game. You know, so you can play w/your friends at home, w/two TV's and 2 consoles etc. Then you could only see the personell the the offense is putting on the field, like when you play the computer. And mayber look at the replays on the field while your homey picks their play or vice versa. It would take the whole playing w/your boys to a whole new level as well.

I started reading these reviews just to see if people were having the same problems I am or if it's just me and I have got to say that Randy from Milwaukee has given the dumbest review by far. For one buddy, the only reason your DB's have 10 interceptions each and both your safeties have 6 or 7 is because you cheated. It's a little something called A.I. Why don't you be a man and play the game with the A.I. down and then we'll see if they still get that many interceptions. Anyways, the game is great. It's not as good as I was hoping just because the 500 passing yards the computer throws a game on me really stings my defensive ranking but other than that, it keeps me hooked. I'm looking forward to Madden 2005. I'm hoping they make improvements on the passing defense side of the game but stick with the Owner mode. I don't want the best defense, I just want a defense that produces decent numbers so that my guys can improve. Anyways, the game's worth the investment, just don't expect to have a super defense unless you cheat like our dear friend Randy.

I believe Madden 2004 is the best Madden game yet for the simple fact of owner mode. the fact you can rebuild stadiums, relocate your teams and set prices for everything is the best idea yet. The graphics on it are insane. The playmaker control thing was an awesome idea. I also like the fact i can change songs on the soundtrack i dont like and switch to the ones i do.The rap songs are pretty much annoying because they are all remixes. the sound on it is cool because the hits sound real the fun factor i give it a 10 for sure because i can sit and play it for hours on end I think the fact the created teams and created stadiums are more detailed in 2004 than they were ever before. i am a san francisco 49ers fan but because of the skill level the have michael vick at i play the game as the atlanta falcons everytime or i will go to franchise and trade jeff garcia and a round 2 pick for michael vick. and i will trade my middle linebacker and a round 1 pick strictly for brian urlacher of the chicago bears. that is all i have to say so i cat wait for madden 2005.

Madden 2004 sucks. If you play on pro the cpu will always force you to either throw an interception or fumble the ball. If they kick an onside kick it is almost impossible to recover it. And even if they begin to play fair and fumble the ball you will hardly ever get it. Plus the create fake scenarios like one time, i fumbled the ball(in the 4th quater) and they magicly made it fly back from my hand hit my foot and fall inbounds! I was so mad i could have beat that game with a hammer. And, since I got the game back in August I have been trying to get the 85 bears madden card and i still havent got it. Yeah sure the music and graphics are pretty good but that ain't worth a < remove me > at #$% when it comes to playing the game. I dont think the makers of the game even made cheat codes to get any of the madden cards. That really sucks. I think any game should have cheat codes. I hope that they make the game for 2005 way way better than this game. I think this may be the worst cheatingest madden ever made in the history of madden. I think this game sucks really bad.

I was really hype, I couldn't wait for the new Madden to come out, then I got it... Let me start with the graphics, basically it looks the same as 2003 but some of the players have black marks on their arms. I guess that is supposed to be tatoos but it looks nothing like em. Anyway, that's not my big gripe. The computer is determined to make the games close no matter what! I tested this theory by playing the Raiders vs. Bengals 5 times. Every game I jumped out to a huge lead (Raiders of course) and every time it was tied or the computer had the lead at the end of the 4th Quarter! My team commited fumble after fumble, all of a sudden NFL MVP Rich Gannon was playing like it was the Super Bowl!!! The first game I had a total of 9 turn-overs (6 fumbles 3 pics), the second game was pretty much the same 5 fumbles and 2 pics, and so on. I don't know who at EA came up with this "keep the games close no matter what" idea but for the first time ever I might buy the SEGA football game 2K4 or ESPN, whatever they are calling it! Sorry, Madden you lost me...

Shut up! i read the reveiws most of them are i throw to many interceptions i fumble to much. if u r doing that practice or put the level lower and if ur losing every game on the easiest level u might wanna just sell the game. Try new plays on defense dont do the same play over and over try doing ask madden.
on offense u dont always need to go deep try screen plays to your runnung back. also try madden 101. if u have problems with fumbles do the running drill in training camp and put carrying up.If you throw to many interceptions throw the ball away if no bodys open scramble out of the pocket with passing icons on and hit triangle it throws the ball away yahh it takes 1 down but it is better than throwing an interception. The graphics are awsome. They could get better music there is not enough of a selection. Also i think they should drop the madden cards. I dont have any more words for my reveiw so im typing words so i can get to 200 words. Man the packers are the best team ever brett Favre is awsome he might be the best quater back ever.

Well as for me I think the game is stupid. You cannot run through 11 different guys and then bounce off someone else who is tackling you from behind. If it was realistic you would get stoped every fourth and 5, but all you have to do is throw the ball up and even if they are tripled covered they can pull it down and somehow keep their feet inbounds for a touchdown. I would like to meet that pro football player that can out run the best corner in the game with the best free and strong safty over the top and pull the ball down. It is bull#$%, and everyone out there knows it. I know that the graphics are good and so is the music, but make the game like it is on the field (REAL) and one more thing tell Madden to shut up, he does not know what he is talking about half the time, and he thinks he does.
I think the kid from Fargo is a retard, if you know anything about football it is not that easy to run and then out of the blue throw a play action pass. Get a clue, you have never touched a real football in your life.

i love the game, franchise mode especially. dont like that you can only improve one player from each position in the offseason camps though. you can improve your starting and backup QBs, your kicker and punter, but you only have one possible option for your entire O-line, and even that can be used for your DL and LBs, and they only have 2 options between like 18 starting players. i also dont like how the computer passes for 500 yards a game, and the only defensive players that go to the probowl are my entire secondary. i guess having my entire o-line go to the probowl every year is cool too, but it gets expensive. i wish free agency was more realistic, like starting before the draft, and having a june 1st cut down day. when signing a player to a contract extention, i wish we could determine how to deviate from year to year the players salary, instead of it being really cheap the first couple years and then really really high the last couple. overall though, its a great game and its come along way.

the game is tight but there are some flaws. Like every madden title the computer always seems to blow up in the 4th quarter even after you've seemed to smash their brains out. Also fumbling the ball alot is real big.i was up on the bucs on all madden by 17 with 1 minute and 12 seconds left plus i had the ball. i lost the game because i fumbled 3 times inside my own 20. 3 plays in a row. Other than that the game has some great features like owner mode and the new traing camp. I waited a long time for this game to come out and when i got it I was fairly pleased with the outcome and will continue to buy the madden games for years to come.The funfactor in the game is very high to me because of the newly added owner mode. Setting your own prices for the tickets and merchandise and things is really cool. Very nice game but EA should fix the flaws for next years game. Big ups to the commentary as well,even though madden and al michaels say things at the wrong times like in all madden games.

All these whiners talking about these ints and fums are just amateurs and they are not ready for the realistic features in this Madden. No, the computer is not easy. No, your receiver is not going to automatically catch any catch you throw up. No, your back isn't going to keep the ball if he's covered by 6 defenders. One solution: DEAL WITH IT MAN!!! Take your game and polish it up at practice or something, because the same crap that worked on NES isn't going to work these days losers. Madden deserves 10 stars man because the franchise mode is perfect, the new owner mode is unbelieveable, I love the mew EA Sports Bio to keep up with how bad I kill my opponets, and finally, beginners can't master the game in a few hours, it takes a little elbow grease now buddy boy, so get some kool-aid and some cheetos, get a fresh memory card, cut out the lights, turn on the big screen, and begin a great dynasty in the most entertaining football game since Tecmo Bowl on Super-NES!!!

i have played madden games going way back before madden 64 on n64 on this appears to be the best football, not just madden, game out today. compared to a game like college game day 04, the game play in madden 04 is amazing. the players have a much more realistic appearence and motion. the graphics are amazing but that might be due to my computer im runnin it on (256 bit, 2.8 p4, 1.5 gb ram, bla bla...). for those of you who say it is impossible to beat or that the computer seems to rip you off, quit complaining and start gettin better at the game. the only problem i find with this game is minor details like small overlapping of players and the lack of 100% realism of movement, catches... if this game were to correct these minor faults and enhance the details of football that make the game seem truly real (like a realistic crowd...) this game would be perfect.
ps. i love that fact that once you run out of bounds you knock over the marker guys, haha, beautiful

Madden 2004 is rediculous. The computer cheats constantly. I fumbled five times in the first minute on offense and defense. The computer knows every single play that you pick, and if you audible, they shift their defense to the correct position. Their running game is a bunch of crap too. Their players are faster than yours, and they can break 100 tackles on 1 play. They intercept everything, and if they don't, you are getting sacked for a loss. In 2003, you could hardly ever get a sack, and now every play is a sack or a bullcrap rediculous cheating play by the computer. Its not the computer all the time. I think it is the game too. I played against my roommate. Out of eight passes I through, 5 were intercepted. In another game, I was losing 51-14 in the fourth quarter. I went on to score 35 points in four minutes, and only lost by a touchdown. He could not do a thing. This game is goofy. I love Madden to death, but this game is out of control.
