The best game out there |
| mike hunt from San Jose says (16/Aug/2003): |
who ever doesnt like this game must be a real hard ass. everything about this new Madden 2004 is great. Madden's a pimp for having a game this good. I'll challenge anyone over broadband one-on-one mono-e`-mono cause i'm the greatest madden player there ever was and ever will be.

Awesome |
| A gamer from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA says (16/Aug/2003): |
This is one of the best games ive ever played. It is absolutely flawless. On top of great gameplay, the playmaker control is off the heazy!!!! You can change your safety to cheat on the reciever, you can change your "go to guy" route in a flash..... This is an awesome game. Also, the ability to play as the NFL Europe teams adds alot of depth to Madden that it didn't used to have. As well as the playmaker control, and the NFL Europe teams, the new Owner Mode makes this THE deepest game I have ever seen, or ever played. I think it is so cool that you can set the price of your concessions!!!! That just blows my mind. Another extra added to this year's games are the EA Sports Bio. I beleive that EA Sports is smart to have a thing where you can unlock secrets to other games by just playing one or two of the new titles. Additionally, the Create-a-Team feature is a really cool way of taking the create-a-player mode one step farther. Finally, here is my table of scores for Madden 2004 in 5 categories, 10 being the best, 1 being the worst:
Gameplay:10
Sound:10
Graphics:10
Commentary:10
Replay Value:10
Average: 10{best}

SPEECHLESS! |
| Nick from Port Richey, Florida says (16/Aug/2003): |
Okay, first of all the graphics on this game are just phonomenal, and the game-play is so advanced and unique its actually very cool. I think the two best features EA put into this game was the Owner Mode and Training Camp in the beginning of the season, I think its awesome that i can tell people how much i want them to pay to come watch the games and everything like that. Another thing that is so amazing is that you can play it over and over again and never get sick of it...MADDEN 2004 RULES!!!

this game is wild |
| A gamer from new york, new york, USA says (15/Aug/2003): |
i love the new madden 2004 game because it has everything from creating your own team to being the owner of your own team. the graphics are amazing better than any other game i have seen. the only complant i have is the screens that pop up and you cant see your HB until u hike the ball

Franchiser |
| Jim from State of Bliss says (15/Aug/2003): |
Great game overall, some upgrades have taken place in the franchise mode since 2003. You can't sign free agents just to trade for draft picks like in 2003 (free agency takes place after the draft), this makes your draft pick decisions much more critical. On the topic of draft picks make a unpopular pick and hear the boo-birds (now I know how the Jets ownership feels), when signing a player you can try and save cap room by giving a signing bonus, trading players has also improved a meter showing which team is getting the better deal is listed. Under owner mode Art Modell would be proud losing money on your team after two years heck move them, you can control ticket prices, parking, food, and advertising budget. The objective is objective is make -- MONEY. Also, under owner mode you get to sign Head coaches, Off. and Def. coordinators, and special team coach. Awful music though

THIS GAME IS THE BEST FOOTBALL GAME OF AL TIME! I seriously urge anyone who doesnt own this game to go out and purchase it now. the graphics are insane, playmaker control makes it the most realistic game out there. My only complaint is that there aren't enough hours in the day to play it.

not such the game |
| mike from milwaukee wi says (15/Aug/2003): |
Madden 2004 has a lot of flaws and inconsistancys, first lets look at the excitment of the game it sucks there is not enough crowd involved its the same old madden talking and he says nothing new since 2002 madden second the players dont look anything like the real ones third the players still look like high school players!
fourth when you are on offense when the computer rushes in isnt that suppose too leave a few receivers open no not in madden its perfect computer play this is not realistic! fith what is with the tackling it stinks its the same old leg tackling or bump the guy and he always lands on his stomach. If you havent played the sega football i suggest you try it real tackling real looking players and great fan involvment. madden 2004 only has the advantage over sega in the owner mode that is it in my opinon.

Disapointment |
| killercombo23 from LA says (15/Aug/2003): |
I was really hype, I couldn't wait for the new Madden to come out, then I got it... Let me start with the graphics, basically it looks the same as 2003 but some of the players have black marks on their arms. I guess that is supposed to be tatoos but it looks nothing like em. Anyway, that's not my big gripe. The computer is determined to make the games close no matter what! I tested this theory by playing the Raiders vs. Bengals 5 times. Every game I jumped out to a huge lead (Raiders of course) and every time it was tied or the computer had the lead at the end of the 4th Quarter! My team commited fumble after fumble, all of a sudden NFL MVP Rich Gannon was playing like it was the Super Bowl!!! The first game I had a total of 9 turn-overs (6 fumbles 3 pics), the second game was pretty much the same 5 fumbles and 2 pics, and so on. I don't know who at EA came up with this "keep the games close no matter what" idea but for the first time ever I might buy the SEGA football game 2K4 or ESPN, whatever they are calling it! Sorry, Madden you lost me...

I HATE THIS GAME! Nah... I'm just playin' with ya... |
| Tim from CT, USA says (15/Aug/2003): |
Pro- This game really brings the new aspect to the "Foot Ball Game" normally sport games get repetitive very quickly since it's basically the same thing as last year's version. NOT ANY MORE!!! the play maker control will let you get more into the game. I dont even know how I played other football games without it. The Graphic hasn't changed much, but they did make some improvment. People actually have tattoos(now this might not be a big deal, but it really makes the games feel real). The frenchise mode has also improved; THE OWNER MODE ROCKS!!!!!! I personally think that this really seperates madden from other football games. Now you can really get into the game by changing not only the players, but the coaching staff, jersey, and the stadium. Also when your favorite player retires, you can hire him to be your coach.
Con- No offence to the AAF, Blink 182, The Roots and so on, but EA trax this year REALLY STINKS. the good thing is that you can just turn it off, get the sterio and shove in your favorite CD. also, you would think that EA will learn that no one want to listen to Madden... I guess they can't fire him because he is the name of the game, but for god sakes does he get annoying?!?! I mean it really doesn't help when your friend is beating you by 35 to 7 and John Madden talks about how dumb your choice was.
Final Thought- Madden 2004 is a GREAT GAME; no matter how annoying John madden is. If you are a football fan, you are going to love it. If your not much of a fan, but you just want to try it, there has never been a better time to start
1(worst) 10(Best)
Graphic- 9
Sound- 7

Fun Factor- 10

Still the best |
| A gamer from columbia, SC, USA says (15/Aug/2003): |
Madden 2004 is the best football game I've ever played. I will agree that the soundtrack is annoying, but you can switch songs on almost every screen by pressing and holding square and pressing R1 or L1. I just wish there were more creat-a-team jersey, helmet, and pant designs. It's still great!

Madden 2004 goes down in history (Rebels dynasty will be broken) |
| Trey from Pittsburgh, USA says (15/Aug/2003): |
This must be the greatest sports game to ever land on this Earth. There are so many features it makes the other years inferior. The rolling out view in offense is amazing and the make-your-own stadium mode is unbeatable. The only problem with this game that i can see is that the player Francis St. Paul was not added to the roster. I mean this guy was a legend in madden 2002 and 2003 though he was the Wayne Primeau of football in real life. But all in all this game beats all others.

Only Negative |
| Myk_C from Fayetteville, AR says (14/Aug/2003): |
The only thing stopping me from giving Madden a 10 is the music soundtrack. Many of the songs are flat out annoying, loud, and repetitive. There is a mix of rock and rap but it seems more rock oriented. The crazy thing is you will hear the awful songs more than the decent ones. Add this to the fact that you cannot switch tracks or turn off the music and you have yourself a definite detraction from the game. These annoyances are particularly noticible in the training/mini camp modes.

The Best one Yet! |
| Charles from St.Louis, MO says (14/Aug/2003): |
This Madden is the best one yet. It now gives you playmaker abilities to control everything your players do. I got my copy of Madden 2004 early to get some extra practice time, I suggest you do the same. With new features you can now own your own team and make valuable descsions like hireing coaches, signing players, prices of tickets, and everything that the owner has to do. I say it puts more fun into the game.

Awsome |
| A gamer from haslett,michigan says (14/Aug/2003): |
this game is great but the only bad thing about this game you cant scramble easy like in madden 03 where you could push the triangle button to scramble. thats the only thing wrong i think with this years great awsom game. i just love it i hope 2005 is so much better than this game then madden will be the alltime best football game around

this is cool |
| eric from california says (14/Aug/2003): |
i love the game a hint is to set very low ticket prices then raise them if your team does very well. my favorite player is gabeer-jabaja-biamilia i think thats how you say it. blitz with him he gets sacks all the time. thanks for reading my review.

| Shawn Morgan from Landover MD USA says (14/Aug/2003): |
This game was lame i expected highlights from other games at halftime. No McDonalds Highlights during the game like they do on Fox 5. What they need to do is get contracts to all commentators say Week 1 how can Michaels and Madden call all those games wheres Dick Stockton and Moose Johnston. Also they dont keep you updated week by week stats what i mean is say you sim the eagles game in week 13 you dont know how many yards mcnabb threw or ran in that single game but you get the whole season stats also on historic mode how come the players are not named I know the deal about the contracts but still at least have the right jersey number Barry Sanders wore no20 not no number 40 and at least name some players like on rams 99 packers 96 favre and faulk bruce and warner still plays on their teams.

Best Madden EVER! |
| A-Town from Phoenix,Az USA says (14/Aug/2003): |
This is the most amazing football game ever created, from the graphics to the sounds, franchise owner mode, you name it and madden has it. Really there's no need for any other company to try and compete, because practice makes perfect the other Maddens were practice now it's perfect!

this game is unreal |
| Rob from Bloomington, IL says (14/Aug/2003): |
This game is soo addicting. I've been playing Madden football games since 93 and they never fail to amaze me. NFL Gameday and NFL 2K4 have no chance at this years' Madden 2004. From owner mode to online play, this game is the full package. The commentary is much better. You can tell that they have worked on this pretty hard and its paying off for EA sports. Its going to be hard to top this game. Game of the year maybe???
