There's something about this game that kept me going. Was it the darker storyline? Check. Was it the somber and intense music? Check. Was it the battle system? Yes, indeed, even though it doesn't compare to Final Fantasy Tactics, and I found the battling to have an easy learning curve that eventually got a tad steeper as the player progressed. Was it the graphics? Well, they weren't top-notch, but I liked them nonetheless.
Overall, if you are looking for something a tad different from the older Arc the Lad games, give this a try. The story will suck you in, trust you me. If you ask me, this is an overlooked gem.

The new battle system is totally cool. I give graphics a 10. Sound includes the voices of the characters during combat. It took pretty long to beat it. It is a new version of Sukiden. Gameplay is lot better this go-around. they have really out done themselves. this game get a 9/10.

I havent played many of the Arc the lad games but if there all like this ive been missing alot. The graphics, battles, and storyline are all perfect. Only problem i see is the animations...each person has ONE surprise animation and they do it over..and over and over... but aside from that this is one of the best and most addicting games ive played.

New kind of RPG. Battle system is also great. Story line is also great. Best to play while waiting for the Final Fantasy X-2. I give it 9 out of 10 for game play and 8 for the graphic. But character grow is quiet slow and also EXP point is slow to gain.

THe Battle System is ok but could of been made better experince gaining takes foreverrrrrrr, but over all a descent game graffics are great and voices in battle get pretty anoying in battle after after awhile. Still could have been made better and just like most games cant even come close too a Final Fantasy game (excluding Basic Tactics). I'll give it a 8/10

This game has ok graphics, the in-game movies suck compared to other rpg's but the in-game gameplay is good Graphics 7/10. It's a fun game, dosn't take a very long time (unless you get stuck and leave itto collect dust)and when you beat it the game preatty much replays itself, not good for reply value. Peplay value 4/10. It has a solide two character storyline, but i personaly don't like the combat system, you point you line at some guys and fire , whatch you guy do the work and repeat... oh yeah and you can move but this takes up your whole turn. Storyline 9/10, combat system 7/10 (for being different than other games). If you want a good replayable RPG get something like the elder scrolls 3 morrowing for xbox and pc, or the knights of the old republic. Over all i give it a 7 out of ten, and i think that's fair.

i just got to say that i love rpg's and this game is the best ive played...EVER!!! i first learned about this game on a demo in playstation magazine. i liked it and bought it...the story is excellent...the graphics are excellent...the characters were ell defined...The ONLY thing i was a little disappointed about was that the game play was short...it says on the box over 60 hours of game play, but i only got about 45...but ive got to say, the shortage of gameplay was made up by the awsome storyline. DEIMOS LIVE ON!!!!!!!(i was in favor of deimos)

this is by far the best RPG for PS2 way better then any stupid FF game they did FF went down after leaving Nintendo. The exp game was good if u did it right it wasnt a hack and slash which is good and then battles where cool the cut season between dark and kahrg was killer lov the entire dam game

I only rented this game to see how it was and I loved it. My birthday is coming up and thats what i want nothing else. if i get it i will be so happy. Who ever made this game I think is a genius. if i don't get it i'll be very mad.

The whole story was fantastic making u stick to the game like a bubble gum. The graphic was quite excellent and the battle mode was fantastic with all the sounds.... However i hope tat Kharg could fight more with darc so to make it a little more interesting..... Kharg it the best!!!(for humans)

This is easily in my opinion the best RPG currently out for PS2. I've not played any other games in this series,this is the first and I'm very pleased.The graphics are very good with lots of vibrant colors and good details. Example:Paulette(one of the main characters)has a freckle located in her cleavage,Yeaaah!I've never liked rpg's for the sound. But what I can say is that it dosen't annoy me but I'd rather it be rap.The characters do talk smack while fighting which is enjoyable,and they call out there moves and spells also a plus. The battle system is in real time 3D,very unique,and a lot of fun. The story realy makes this game addictive,very creative and rarely if every dull.The best thing in this game is definately that you get to play two sides of the story simontaneously.One side your a young human man named Kharg who is in trasistion to becoming Commander of his Native Army or Guard,who protects Khargs' country Nidellia from the deimos(an intelligent monster race)and the diezwald(a technolgicaly advanced human race).The other side or main character in interest is Darc,a half Deimos half human slave who must rise out of slavery and take control of the deimos race by force and lead them away from destruction.Both characters are chosen by the spirit of the wind amongst others to save the world from the impending evil at hand.Not to mention is the fact that the two main characters who never met(Kharg and Darc) are brothers who both have little(Kharg)to no tolerance(Darc)for the others race.Fun and Intriuging till the end this one's a keeper.With just a few minor changes I could of given Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits a 10 with no prob.

Well personally i thought the game was kinda slowpace at first but it developed into a pretty good game around the middle. I thought the storyline was great and the whole plot of the story was very amuzing. I also found some hidden cheats that many people fail to notice for some reason. The cheat is back in orcoth check out the 30 round battle for the king statuette,(Notice) once you beat the round, ask to fight again and then it will state the prize Bountiful fruit which raises the any selectable characters lv up 1. For 30 battles they give you 5, in my opinion its well worth the time. I got my guy at lv 99 in like 3 or 4 hours and he started at lv 23. But thats if you want to completley destory the enemies in the game. Oh the cheats only works for darc as far as im concerned but hes my Favorite.+)

As a veteren of Arc the Lad, I have to say that this game was no disappointment at all. It had the wonderfully rich and interesting storyline and twists that all the Arc the Lad games had. The situations just kept getting worse and worse and more agianst the character's favor but the game still went on. The characters were very indepth and well developed over the course of the game(but I favored the Daimos mainly because I liked Bebedora). It's also endearing when they have references to people and places from the previous Arc the Lad games. It's a wonderful game, what more can I say?

its the best damn game i have evered played in my life. This game sums up all of what an RPG should have. Two story lines. two main charaters that you can only use one at a time. If you ask me I say it as good as the final fantisy games
