Not fit to lick Ratchet's boots I'm afraid | | A gamer from swansea, w. glamorgan, wales says (6/Mar/2004): | This game doesn't deserve to be rubbished entirely. It has a lot of good points. Such as the graphics, while not the best on the PS2 they do convincingly bring Wallace and Gromit to life and the game is full of their trademark humour. Another point in its favour is the gameplay, if you like to collect things - whether that be jewels or bolts etc. depending on the platformer - like I do there's plenty to pick up. The problem with this game is the camera. From the third level on - there's seven levels in all. Worlds really, but still one of the shortest games I've come across. - the camera becomes intolerable. It sticks so close to Gromit that you can't properly see the area around you let alone figure out how to tackle you're present problem. On top of that its jerky, slow beyond words and made me feel like screaming. In short the reaction time of Gromit just isn't up to standard, its downright sluggish and as such spoils the enjoyment of playing it. Maybe I wouldn't find Wallace and Gromit such a bad game if I hadn't played both Ratchet and Clank games. To follow in that game's footsteps and still impress would take a very good platformer indeed and I'm sorry to say it ain't Wallace and Gromit.
| Wallace & Gromit are back!!! | | Mr. Gamer2021 from Delaware, USA says (10/Jan/2004): | This game is incredible! First of all, Wallace & Gromit make a very anticipated return. Second, one of the unlockable movies in the game confirmed that a Wallace & Gromit Full-Length Feature Movie is coming our way, Which almost made me fall off of my couch.(For more info on the upcoming film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312004/ ), Third, Feathers McGraw is back, and this time he's the head of all Organized Crime... in the Zoo? Yes, Feathers is back, except most of the time he isn't wearing the infamous glove on his head. We're also introduced to new characters in the Wallace & Gromit world, one of which happens to be called Archie, the Polar Bear. Wallace & Gromit have adopted Archie from the Zoo and when they go to see him one day, they come to find that he is being walked around on a leash by Feathers McGraw! It's up to Wallace & Gromit to save him, and the rest of the zoo. The gameplay is pretty basic and easy, The weapons are all great, Peter Sallis returns as the voice of Wallace, And we even see some spoofs on other Video Games! Some of the time it's a bit tricky to figure what in the world you're supposed to be doing at that moment in time, but that's what's so challanging about the game. The puzzles are challanging as well, but fun enough to keep you interested after failing repeatedly. The only thing I can find to really complain about is that we don't see enough use of that catchy Wallace & Gromit Theme Song. I recomend this game to any Wallace & Gromit Fan, especially if "The Wrong Trousers" was your favorite of the short films and you just can't seem to get enough of that Feathers McGraw. Fans of challenging yet funny platforms will get a kick out of it as well.
| Awesome! | | Heather from Iowa City, Iowa says (17/Oct/2003): | I thought that this game was really cool! It was nice to see Wallace and Gromit back after so many years of being forgotten. The graphics were great, there were a ton or really neat cut scenes the game play was challenging enough to be satisfing. I think one of the best parts about the game is that it felt like you were really playing gromit because they are normaly claymation. So it didnt look all that diffrent.
