What were you thinkin? |
| A gamer from Chicago, USA says (17/Nov/2003): |
Im a veteran nba live player. I really love this game, really. I almost stopped buying the game after that horrible 2001 game. I came back to nba live to try the freestyle. I love the freestyle. One question, Why is the game more sloppy when you play another person than when you play the computer? The gameplay is way too sloppy, i mean turnovers, missed layups, and dunks. The ratings are a little off too. Im a die hard bucks and bulls fan. I know the Spurs are the defending champs but why are the bull rated higher? The 3 point shot is way too easy to hit. Michael Redd drilled 20 the other day and my friend turned the game off. Cant say that i blame him. The only things have to compain about are, The turnovers come in bunches, the three pointers come in bunches, jason williams can blow by nesterovic, and head to head play is just sloppy. Other than that, It's a good game

You guys don't know what you're talking about |
| A gamer from Paris, France or Denver, USA says (16/Nov/2003): |
NBA Live 2004 is a pretty good game. There is a reason for everything, such as the lowered ratings. That's correct. In 03, too many players came too close to being the perfect player (they were almost rated 100) so these new ratings actually make sense. Plus, just consider all the new things put into this game along with the awesome graphics. You guys are grunting over little things. I admit that it has its flaws, but nothing can be perfect.

fantastic game ever!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Bobby Masson's Two cents about nba live 2004 |
| Bobby Masson from halifax, Nova Scotia , Canada says (13/Nov/2003): |
I must admit this game has almost everything but the kitchen sink, it has all the dunks, you have to be creative if you want to do a good layup, the music is tuff, the players look real as hell, the gameplay is definitly intense.
also you have to love the way the big boys block, its so cool to see them swat the ball like that, trading and signing players couldnt be easier, and when you play season you will have to work to get a good record, unlike the previous versions of the game where you throw the ball long and dunk it everytime. this game definitly has my vote.

Great Game |
| Mikko from Manila, Philippines says (12/Nov/2003): |
I've been a long-time NBA Live fan, have been playing the series since '95. 2004 is by so far the most realistic of the lot although the player moves can still be smoothened-up a bit to match the seamless flow of the NBA 2K series. Great music, excellent playbook detail, and a complicated but challenging array of control styles to keep you glued to your PS2 for the next three months or so. Oh, did I mention that Nike and Adidas just came aboard this year and have brought with them bragging rights for the NBA Live title as being the most accurate of all b-ball sims anywhere?

Do not buy this game. |
| Ryan Cruz from California, USA says (12/Nov/2003): |
This game is not very good. There is a bug that sometimes freezes a player who tries to steal the ball. Sometimes the player is frozen for a short period of time but sometimes you have to call a time out to unfreeze the person. The players are usually on their toes when they freeze.
Another beef I had was the very quick inbound passes. When you get called for defensive three seconds; your team has to stand and wait by the half-court line. After the other team shoots their free throws they quickly in bound the ball and score. You can see your team walking slowly back from the hal-court line to their positions. Give Me Some Time To Frickin Set Up!!
There are a few more crappy things about the game but I don't want to type any more. Overall the game is okay but do not buy it. Try ESPN Basketball. (Although I haven't tried it yet)

Dont Hate this is da best game ever |
| ghettofab from cHi tOwN iLL nOizE says (10/Nov/2003): |
everythang bout this game is good. players slap the backboard after they dunk. nba store good idea player of the month and do on 2many good things for dis game. the only downs are the rcovery times after the collisions especially in 1on1. the crosscourt passing looks like u gon catch it then u dont and the computer always come back when u beatin them. i be up by 30 and then all of a sudden i miss all my shots and computer makes all their 3s i end up winning by 18 and i want the points for winning by 40 the defense aint hard u just gotta be good 2 win it just seem liked they rushed. or they gave madden 2 much attention. i thought i was goin 2 be able 2 change my hot dog prices but its cool just hopin 4 05 holla back

Where's the 90's Bulls,80's Celtics etc. |
| Keik Leong from Selangor,Malaysia says (9/Nov/2003): |
The thing that I really look forward for this game is the 90's Bulls.Jordan,Pippen,Rodman,Kukoc etc is the one that I expected
but hey,EA Sports had let me down.I can't believe it when there's no any codes or secrets to unlock them.I heard it's a license stuff problem but the thing is EA should not post in the net if it's not confirm yet. They also should make it clear what's the real deal that happens(post in net, magazines etc.),so the fans know the real situation. All I wanna say is EA,please bring the 90's Bulls and other old teams next year in Live 2005.

Where's the Monster Dunks |
| Stu from Wollongong, Australia says (7/Nov/2003): |
Game play and the realness of this is a great improvement on 2003, but where are the MONSTER DUNKS that all you really want isnt it. Such as VC jumping over 7 footers and such. All in all its a far superior game to 2003, if they can just combine the spectacular side of 2003 and the tight realness of 2004, well ladies and gents we would have a winner
|
da illest b-ball from EA yet |
| Dave from Chicago,IL says (6/Nov/2003): |
Well, i've read everyones reviews and they all differ from one another except for one thing, What's up with them ratings???i mean i know carmello and lebron should be around the same ,but they screwed carmello over.Don't let me get started on tracy either, can anyone say ,'no vaseline'.I mean really.Besides that the game is tight. No more easy shots and deke moves, and u actually have to run an offense(sorry all u non-hoopers,no mashing the crossover button to score,u need some skill now). For all u people complaining about the offensive fouls and the missed layups and what-not,there are sliders u can adjust for that to make your gameplay easier. But i suggestlearn the NBA game rules, cause if you're outside that circle in the paint underneath the rim and u try to dunk or jump into the oppositions player ,its gonna be an offensive.Besides the ratings ,this is the realest game to date and will get plenty replayability on my system.graphics are excellent too.

NBA Live 2004 is hot but it needed more features |
| Quentis Brown from brooklyn,new york says (6/Nov/2003): |
NBA Live 2004 is a hot game but it needed more features like a 3 point contest and a slam dunk contest. The thing that i like about nba live 2004 is the air jordan's sneakers. Finally we don't have to see those ugly sneakers in the past nba lives. Also the crossover are sick and the gameplay is fun.The things that i hate about NBA live 2004 is the rating on the player and the offseason on the dynasty.kenyon martin rating in game is 74 come on he desevre an 82 at least and the offseason is terrible you can't sign anybody that you want and besides money they used points damn!!!The bottom line on nba live 2004 is that the music, the gameplay, the crossover and the sneakers are hot and the rating on the players and the offseason on the dynasty is terrible

where are the dunks |
| A gamer from P.G., Maryland says (5/Nov/2003): |
Overall the game is great, but there should be more additions. WHAT happen to the windmill dunk? Add more things like a between the legs dunk (Ricky Davis did it in a game), more hair(cornrows)options, more dribbling moves, and what happen to playing one on one at beach. These are just a few minor complaints. When a product is known for being the best, the more we expect from it. I think that NBA Live 2004 is the basketball game out there, Period. Just want 2005 to be perfection.
|
it's alright |
| Melvin from Greenville,NC says (5/Nov/2003): |
I think it should have more off court action like the people on the side line. Have there team player jumpin (like 2003)put a NBA jam mode up there like NBA JAM. more singers and rappers and acters. they should also add WNBA to it. i also think that the free throws should be hard and that the player 2 person can have an affect on the free throw.

great game, false codes. |
| Big Wane from da hood! from H.ome O.f the B.rave, nj, USA says (3/Nov/2003): |
The NBA Live 2004 game is a great game overall. In fact, it has the potential to be the best ever. But I have been having a problem with these false codes lately. First of all, the only create-a-player code that works is the corny ass jermaine dupri code. That code for 50cent doesnt work because there is not enough space to fit "thenewbreed" in the last name space provided. Also, all of those other codes are from last years game like the fabolous code and the busta rhymes code. If anyone out there knows of a solution for this, please contact my email address and let me know whats going on. Thats one of the problems I have. Another one is the fact that players are able to do more stuff with madden than Live. Its made by the same company so there shouldnt be a big difference, but there is. Ever since I can remember, madden has allowed gamers to pick teams of the past. When is EAsports going to stop being lazy when it comes to its basketball products. If they had all of those old players in NBA Street vol.2, and all of those old jerseys, then they should have it where players can pick old teams of the past such as the 88 lakers, or they 96 bulls or the badboys from 89-90. Other than those minor set backs, I think its a great game and I would recommend it for the true baller out there.

This game is off da heezy 4 sheezy |
| Kyle Kemper aka Da Spyda from Columbus,Ohio,USA says (3/Nov/2003): |
Yo man this game has killa graphics and challenging gameplay.Yes da online version sux a** but the rest is awsome. I love the nba store, da retro Jordans is tight and the throw back jerseys are hard. U cant get that in ESPN Basketball. the moves on this game r better than espn basketball by far. I mean whats up with the power hop on espn, and the cartoon looking players. the game doesnt even have MJ on it! It has him plus U can get rap stars on live! the only thing wron wit live is the players ratings. Most of em are in the 50s, 60s, and 70s there r like 7 players in the 90s. My boy Allen Iverson is only in the 80s...whats up wit that.Overall its the best b-ball game out. Thats why its the best selling pro franchise!

so sweet |
| A gamer from unknown says (2/Nov/2003): |
yall hatin on the game on nba live 03 you cant even get jordans. you can raise people stats up like carmelo and lebron i think the game is so sweet but they are some glitches. this is way better than 03 just play it for a while and youl;l will love it. and if you dont like it then you are dumb

Dynasty Mode |
| Marcus Johnson from California,USA says (2/Nov/2003): |
Overall, I reallly like the controls and gameplay of LIve 2004, but the dynasty mode sucks. You have to wait halfway through the season until people want ur picks or want to give u their picks. They did nothing to evolve the draft depth and realism ( although they did add cut scenes ). And the thing that makes me the angriest is that, when I play dynasty mode, I want a challenge. AFter the free agent period, the cpu only signs free agents for teams that are under the minimum player limit, therefore you can just hold out for the free agent period and sign them all for 30,000 when the regular season starts. Also when you edit a player in dynasty mode, for some reason they do not let you put headbands on the players, even after you buy them. I give dynasty mode a 3 out of 10 and I give the rest of the game a 10 out of 10. I want to try the online Live 2004, but whenever I press "play online" it freezes, so I do noot know what to think about the online feature yet.

NBA Live 2004 is almost the best b-ball game evea |
| Chi H from Washington,Seattle. USA says (1/Nov/2003): |
NBA Live 2004 is prettyt cool, but Espn basketball is the bomb. In NBA live 2004, the dunk moves is little bit sux, all they do is the nor moves, and there is not much layups. I like this game because their dribble moves, their dribble move is the bomb, their is alot dribble moves. They make you screen. This game is pretty real, the music is tyte. and the NBA store, there is alot stuff you want. The online sux thou, dont ever try it. well if you try it then you will know how sux it is. but still this game is still pretty cool. There is cheat code you can put in, there is like new players, like 50cent, snoopdog, and a lot of other singers. They should add more stuff into nba live 2004, they should add like trning, misstion, and some other stuff that wont make you bored. The players in the nba live 2004 is pretty alike the real nba players. that is pretty cool. For some reason i think they didnt change the game that much from last year. they are almost the same. When i bought this game , there isn't much people play online, i give this game 10 out of 8 because this game isn't much different from last year, and ESPN Basketball is better then nba live 2004. and this is all i have to say.
PS: You guys or girls have to go check this game out.

The Champ is still here |
| Marcus aka M- Dilla from Chicago, IL U.S.A says (30/Oct/2003): |
This game, I admit, is not as good as Live 2003, but it will still be the best basketball game of the year. The hop step is an improvement and the freestlye control is better and more challenging than the regular crossover button. The in-air collision is probably the worst feature on the game, it is as if the cpu literally throws themselves at you and you are forced to throw up crap without a foul being called. I normally don't mess with the settings but that was one thing I had to adjust. The players ratings are disappointing and the training camp has no effect on dramatically improving a player. I just recently went 27-1 with a championship on superstar winning by a average of 18.3 pt.Overall NBA Live is a great game that must grow on you the more you play the easier it is the more you will love it.

The Game is nice but it could use some help |
| The Goat from Cleveland, USA says (28/Oct/2003): |
I like all the new features that added on the game but when you look at the ratings for the players my God Jason Kidd is the best point guard in the game and he only gets a 89 Allen Iverson is only a 86. Then in Franchise mode it takes a lot of Dynasty points to make Lebron or Carmello rating into a 90. The feature to unlock some of the retro Jordans I like that but they should have all of the Jordans 1-18. I like the new forms of the 2-3 and the 3-2 zones for people who like zone defense. I like the game overall but for it to be a 10 just improve the players ratings please!!!!!!!!
