NBA Live 2004 is hot but hard to control |
| A gamer says (19/Oct/2003): |
NBA Live 04 has the best graphics of any other basketball video game before, however I'm having a tough time trying to figure out the buttons, I just want to know if I can switch the movements from the analog sticks to the directional buttons which are far easier to control. that's the only flaw of the game very hard to control, I like the uniform and store features as well as it

Tight |
| alor from sacramento says (19/Oct/2003): |
this game is soo cool,u should buy it though it could be better. Jason kidd is so cool he has a deadly crossover and stuff. The only bad thing is the ratings of most players are low, like Lebron James is 63? Jason kidd 89? and then they make Kobe Bryant a 97. Are they crazy. Anyway dynasty mode is pretty cool, and u can win player of the month award. And the create a player mode has tight shoes. with all the latest shoes like ultraposite and t-mac 2's

Not to shabby |
| A gamer from Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA says (19/Oct/2003): |
I am giving NBA Live 2004 an 8 because of the player ratings, now im from Detroit and let me tell you the way my pistons played last season was beautiful Chauncey was great Ben was a God and they couldn't rank my boys better then 75? Ben Should have been atleast 88 Defensive player of the year back-to-back is awsome. But there isn't much more ican complain about the Dynasty is awsome and for once the dificulty level isn't easy on every level i can play on rookie and still have a challenge now that i like. NBA Live is a must rent cause there r so many basketball games out there my advice try them before u buy them. Peace and yes the Pistons will play the Lakers in the Finals but i hate to say it the Lakers will win in 7 with the help of MJ

its no game, ITZ DA REAL THING! |
| rellman from brooklyn,ny usa says (19/Oct/2003): |
EA has done it again, new controls, no more one man team. there is real defence. and there are real sneakers! jordans ,formposites and more.NIke has a big plug on this game. manage your own team by hiring new coaches and trainers. trade players by salery and points requirement. SEGA/ESPN who?

The gameplay is great, but the ratings are whack! |
| Lex from Massachusetts, USA says (19/Oct/2003): |
The gameplay in Live 2004 is great and the dynasty mode is the best franchise of any game ever, but the ratings in this game are horrible. Kobe Bryant being a 97 and shaq being a 92 and Big Fundamental being a 91 is bull$#< remove me > at !. If your willing to take the time to edit a lot of the player ratings then this will be one of the best games youll every buy!

Makes hardcore B-ball gamers piss in thier pants |
| John Lact from New Orleans, Louisana USA says (19/Oct/2003): |
This game is the best B-ball game possibly ever made. I mean its way better than NBA2k2 the graphics are superb and people will buy it for nuts over it. Did I mention I am a EA SPORTS programmer, I didn't help put this game together but I did help put John Madden 2004 together and I think from my expirence that the buttons are a little hard to grisp at first but once you get used to it you will absolutely love it. Please contact me and give me some advice on what yall think I should suggest to my supervisor for NBA Live 05 (Ive been informed that I will help program 05 this year.

OMG NBA LIVE 2004 IS SO SICK |
| A gamer from West Bend, Wisconsin, USA says (18/Oct/2003): |
OMG nba live 2004 is the most amazing basketball game i have ever played. unlike last years, it is actually a challenge, i honestly had a little bit of trouble winning even on starter mode. the new features are crazy. on offense u can be a teammate that doesnt have the ball, the new freestyle stick moves are sick... on defense u can trap whenever u want, and unlike last years, the ball doesnt fly right thru your body to get to another player. GO BUY OR RENT IT, IT WONT LET U DOWN!

It's in the game |
| V-Money from Parma, Ohio, USA says (18/Oct/2003): |
I just bought this game and I already love. It usually takes me a couple days before I get used to new setups and new features, but live is so easy to navigate. The gameplay is awesome, graphics are unbelievable, and everybody is in the game. The ratings of the players are a litle wierd though, but the young players who have low ratings get better. Dynasty mode is an important improvement to live 2004. You pick the team, you can do training camp, buy extras for your team to improve the players stats, and you have so many other new features to use in the game.

NbA live 2004 |
| VC15fanatic man from Toronto Ontario says (18/Oct/2003): |
Well i just rented this game and BY fAr its ....... b.e.s.T
fOR one thing i waz alwayz a nba 2k series fan and what waz all about it (what i liked about it evryone so realistic). tO SAY IM A BIG FAN EA SPORTS the first nba live game i played waz 97 if i remember. Let me get to the poin the 2k serious gets boring after a while with the same dunks the same cross overs and so on an so on. Nba live brings u much more graphics are good not great but good, the dunks AMaZiNg, my most fav part is that the team react in wht happening for ex: Vince got the ball he dribbling he gets a screen by jerome williams he shoots. He misses THEN the whole team starts to go for the ball its AMAZING ALL I GOT TO SAY IZ 2005 SHOULD HAVE DUNK COMPETION. thank YOU EA FOR EVERYTHING

The Best Basketball Game Ever Made! |
| Reg from Grand Prairie, Tx USA says (16/Oct/2003): |
NBA Live 2004, has change totally for the best. The Dunks, Shots, Steals, man this game is real. I Mean, you can throw on your HardWood Classics, and just go at it. ITS a definite, GO BUY!!! I promise you wont regret it. The NBA STORE on Live, is a new Feature as well that made this one the best games ever. You Can Purchase every thing from NBA Accessories, to Throw Back Jerseys, and Shoes. I Purchased the very first pair of Jordans ever Made. I know you know what im talking about. The hace your Air Force Ones, Your, Paytons, Vince Carters, and just all kinds of nice Shoes. One Pair of shoes need to be deleted from this Game Though, and those would be Shaq's Shoes. lol. I Mean dont get me wrong, Shaq (Big Fella) is a Bad Man on that court, but i cant take him serious with those, Now and Later looking shoes he got on his feet. I had, to change, and put him into some Nike Shocks. Being Serious though, when you first turn the game on, the Controller Configuration is kinda hard because of all the new features, but once you learn and get use to the buttons, its high flying, in your face, nuthing but the bottom, action ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!! Another tight thing about Live 2004 is the music. This Game has some of the Baddest artist on the tracks, such as Chingy, Da Brat, Lil Flip, Black Eyed Peas, Clipse, Twista, Outkast, Jermaine Dupri, and more. yea, every video game, Basketball fan deserves this Game. GO Get Your hands on One Ight.

this game is awesom |
| joe from Los Angeles, CA says (16/Oct/2003): |
Unlike last years live that had unrealistic defense and a far too easy offense, live 2004 delivers unlike any of its predecessors. With revamped graphics and additional features such as the amazing dynasty mode and nba store, live is truly a basketballer's dream. It is no longer a dunkfest, you now have to use what the defense gives you, which isnt much (thats a good thing, it makes basketball players think: set offenses such as a motion or flex do not always run as diagrammed, you must make back cuts or go backdoor when heavily overdenied, etc.). Many people who are not true basketball fans who only dunk the whole game will not notice or appreciate the exceptional Artificial Intelligence that has been implemented into the nba live infrastructure. For example, if you are playing as the lakers and want to dump it into shaq, the ball will be heavily denied and the power forward will cheat up a little to help the center, making it much harder than last years edition. As sad as it may seem, this is the first basketball game where the center and power forward actually play their respective roles on the court. Previous Lives had excellent big men (KG, shaq, Duncan) who NEVER missed within 10 feet of the basket, but this has all changed. You will never even think about having Shaq shoot a 12 footer that always went in in live 2003.Taking it to the rack in real life is not an easy duty, because IF you actually pass your defender, guess what, three more people collapse on you trying to block your shot or force a trap. I must commend EA for improving what is necessary for a good basketball game (A.I., tough D, etc.) and not luxuries such as dunks. Live 2004 will not disappoint,it is truly an excellent gaming experience.

It's In The Game |
| Black Diamond from Bowie, MD, USA says (16/Oct/2003): |
This game is a must have for those who love simulation basketball. Live this year is nothing like last years game besides the freestyle control. Those who were good in the previous years versions will not have the same fortune. The Defense on this game is faster, smarter and suceeds in stopping your shots. Three's, Dunks, Crossovers, must all be utilized to win and be a dominating force. You have to play the game to believe how nice it is, Plus they added a NBA Store where you can get throwbacks, jordan's, NBA Headbands, Socks, Pratice Jerseys, etc. You can train your players hire coaches and to improve your skills, and individually train your players to get better. It's all in this game and it's online man ya'll gotta holla at this one, word up, One

EA Sports keeps getting better and better |
| SlickEazy from Toledo says (16/Oct/2003): |
At first glance, the graphics of the game are significantlly inferior to 2003, but there are reasons why. EA knows exactly what they are doing. There are sacrificing graphics for gameplay and I say go EA. If there is one thing sports fans crave is realism. And EA knows that. I have played every EA NBA 5 on 5 game ever made. Considered a NBA Live JEDI CHAMP by my peers I can say I was not only pleased by the performance of 2004 but blown away by the draw I have to it because of feel of realism and advanced gameplay which a true basketball fan can appreciated. Words cannot truely describe this game, just go buy, rent, borrow, beg, steal(just kidding) this game. If you don't agree then you can whip me. But I don't plan on getting whipped because this game is it. Hands down. I don't play games often, but when EA is getting ready to release the next LIVE, I'm there waiting anxiously. It's that good.

Good game but probably will get beat by ESPN. |
| Confused in Chicago from Chicago, USA says (16/Oct/2003): |
Unfortunately EA Sports for the first time let me down. They continue with the idea of a point based salary cap for the game (which is not horrible) but contract negotiations are still subpar. You are only allowed to toggle the amount of years that you can offer and not the amount of points that you can offer. I am so confused as how EA can come out with an amazing franchise mode for Madden and have it be almost too in depth and then for Live have a subpar Dynasty Mode that is not that great. Another upseting feature is that every time your player has the ball and is dribbling he always has his back to the defender. This is realistic yes, but the downside is that when you try to do the spin move or other freestyle moves they do them in the direction you are facing. I think EA could have done a lot better with this game. The graphics are amazing and very realistic but that is probably the best part of the game. Please email me and tell me what you think!!!

Yes! And The Basket Counts! |
| namean from Toledo, OH USA says (16/Oct/2003): |
This is without a doubt the Greatest NBA game that has ever hit the market. Allows you to change your shot in mid air which helps out when you are playing against guys like Yao Ming who blocks every lay up in the game. Only dissapoinment would be that you can not fix prices of tickets or anything like that. But it is a Great Game! Marv Albert and Mike Fratello also add a different kind of excitement to the game.

It's That Hotness |
| Hyphen from Chicago, IL says (15/Oct/2003): |
Only Live had the potential to be this good, adding realistic play with streetball moves and now that it has happen, b-ball games should be changed forever. I especially like the addition of the new dunk/lay-up button and the jump stop button but anyway the whole game is hot so definately cop it. This is a must have so trust me when I say...It's That Hotness

WHAT A GAME!!! |
| sfallstar from Houston, Texas, USA says (15/Oct/2003): |
All i gotta say is what a game, This game is so realistic, its pitiful. EA has set the bar this year, and SEGA Sports has quite a rabbit to pull out of their hats to beat this. Oh yeah, EA even shows love for the South, My man Lil' Flip even has a song on the game!!! This is hands down the best purchase i've ever made in a while!
