SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs Review44484

C SQRD from Ohio, USA says (3/Apr/2005):
Socom II is a navy based combat game. The single player involves a team of 4 SEALs, or substitutes from the U.K. to help diminish terrorist threats. Your team consists of two squads, Able and Bravo. You are part of the Able team. Your Bravo squad has your back, for they help cover you at dredges, plus can stay idle for more close-up steath work that you need to perform. Having a partner on your side is great, if you miss a shot, chances are he is following up on it, also it comes in handy to deploy satchel charges, clear rooms, or do work while you stay on guard. The downfall of having him at your side is that you are more at risk of being spotted. While being as steath as he can be, your Able element may give your position away. Using your team in cooperation is a great way to achieve success in a mission. Teamwork is of most importance, that's why they pair you up with 3 other men.
Socom II online consists of two teams, the SEALs and the Terrorists. The maximum number of players per team is 8. The maximum players per room is 16, plus another 16 spectators if desired. There are 5 basic missions in multiplayer mode: Demolition, Breach, Extraction, Escort, and Suppression. In demolition the goal of each team is to pick up the satchel and plant it at the opposing teams base. A planted bomb can be diffused. The winner is decided by: a) All members of the opposing team have been eliminated, b) The opposing team's base has been destroyed, or c) The opposing team's satchel has been diffused after the plant. The goal of Breach is pretty much the same as Demolition except only the SEAL team may control the satchel, while pressing through heavy blockades. The winner is decided by: a) All members of the opposing team have been eliminated, b) The terrorist team's base has been destroyed, c) The SEAL team's satchel has been diffused after the plant, or d) The SEALs fail to plant the satchel in six minutes. In Extraction , the goal is for the seals to free hostages and return them to the exration point safely. The hostages must be kept alive at all costs. A winner is decided by: a) The SEALs successfully rescue the hostages, b) The terrorists kill the hostages, or c) All members of the opposing team are eliminated. Two hostages are to be extracted for a SEAL win to occur, but all Three must be accounted for, by either being rescued or killed. The goal of Escort mode is for the seals to escort three VIPs across a map to safety. Terrorists are to eliminate the VIPs. A winner is decided by: a) All VIPs have been killed, b) The VIPs were excorted to safety, c) All members of the opposing team have been eliminated, or d) The Terrorists fail to eliminate the VIP's in six minutes. The goal of Suppression is simple; Eliminate the opposing team. **Note: Suppression games are they only type alowed in RESPAWN type rooms. A respawn is a twenty minute game where players seek to destroy the members of the opposing team where if killed, the player is brought back to life after a short penality time period of being killed.
If you are new to the SOCOM community, I would like to welcome you to an experience of a lifetime. SOCOM gameplay is great, controls are fairly easy, and response is almost instant, except for the occasional lag. SOCOM II is equipped with DNAS anti-cheat software which, if brought to DNAS attention, will ban the SOCOM user's internet address if cheating has occured. Feel free to browse the selection of weapons at your disposal. Finding the correct weapon combination for you is important, so try experimenting a little. If you "Run-and-Gun" I would suggest an automatic assault rifle, where as if you are going to scan the field for opponets I would suggest a strong yet accurate sniper rifle with a pistol as your secondary weapon in case of close up combat. For automatics I would suggest using an item called "2x Ammo Load." It doubles the ammount of ammo you carry into battle.
I hope you find this review somewhat helpful, but if you have any addional questions or you need help understanding anything written above please e-mail me at magic_ace69< remove me > at hotmail.com. Look forward to seeing you online, feel free to add C SQRD to your friends list.

the next glitch is the shoot off glitch!
ok to do this u go to the barn type thing and go to the corner of the fence where the tree is and climb up and stand on it...now run at the tree (u should be running in mid air beetween the tree and fence) now once yopur done move left while runing once you move off the tree u will shoot through the air!!!

awesome!!!36429

Michael from Ft. Walton Bch. FL, USA says (1/Dec/2003):
Socom II has by far exceeded my expectations. It is one of the most realistic covert games out there. I love the fact that they put recoil effects into the weapons. I am a MP and have fired fully automatic weapons, some of which are in the game. It was nice to see that the weapons handle like they do in real life. Foxhunt is by far one of the best levels they have. You can cover the whole area with two people if you are good enough. The level is open to a variety of different attacks, for those that like to snipe bring your rifles. It may be big and not have a lot of hiding places, but all you have to do is lay down in the grass and people will walk right by you. For those that like demolitions, you have a variety of maps you can blow stuff up in. Sujo is by far the best breach map there is. just the fact that you can get into the base with just blowing one of the perimeter fences up is awesome and the terrorist can make it out without blowing anything up, which makes it a little more difficult for the Seals to get in because they have to watch their backs now. The AI is a whole lot better in this game than the last. You don't have your fireteam making stupid mistakes as they did last time, and they follow your orders to a T. Myself being a MP think that is one of the best things they could have done, no more insubordination. The controls are the same, so you don't have to relearn them. Plus they are easy enough that any one that has never played before can pick it up and get going. All the stealth in the game makes it so realistic that it's like you are right there with the Seals. Now I understand that some people are not that stealthy, so all you have to do is work on it and try to learn patients. Patients, Teamwork, Stealth, and getting the mission done all in one piece that is what I believe being a Seal is all about. Over all great game for all players, those that like the original will love the sequel. Those that have never played will become instanly addicted. I can't wait for the third instalment. Good work guys.

Time for a real review.36182

Kyle A.K.A. (. : AKUMA: .) from NC says (27/Nov/2003):
Ok so hear it is. Forget about Xbox, that cheap screw charges for his servers. Sony at least rewards it's loyal gamers. but anyway...David you need a life...Many people can afford the what 39.99 codebreaker. It took 49.99 to buy socom 2 and another 39.99 to buy the network adaptor. By-the-way David, before you make fun of, try to talk trash, and utterly be an annoying jerk HOW ABOUT LEARNING TO SPELL AND TYPE! I can't stand how you immature kids get on and act all cool and tough, but can't even type or spell.
As for the game...recoil is part of real life, zipper only made it more realistic. Lag, happens, don't complain to the game makers or PS2, it isn't in their hands. The only people who can solve this problem is your internet connection provider. As for xbox, they are not hack proof either, no one is....we can see this with windows (the maker of xbox) had one of the biggest attacks made this year, and they were helpless. Large highly interactive maps with realistic acting camo, and life-like reactions to grenade shockwaves. high graphics for a game that has to deal with massive amounts of info transfers when online. new menus are easy to navigate. refresh automatic and when you exit a game it goes to the lobby not the main menu. friends list and easy clan lists. No need to make new names for your clan. it is added on by socom. Socom 2 is a very well made game and it has improved every problem of the original.
You people need to stop knocking it and learn to play it and not complain about it and cheat cause you refuse to learn. The game is good and rent it to find if it is a game you want, or better yet find a friend.
Try it for yourself and don't listen to all the losers who try to put others down while spreading false issues with the game.
Enjoy and see you online.

Dont diss this until you know how to play40086

Joe from England says (1/Apr/2004):
what words can some this game up, i Dont think there are any. This game is highly addictive and was not a let down as most Sequals tend to be.
Single Player: You take on the roll of the Ex Bravo Squad teamate Specter From "SOCOM: U.S Navy Seals" and Lead 3 other team mates through 12 Challenging Levels. Your team Consists of 2 Parts the "Able" team which you are part of and the "Bravo" Team which ranges from The British "SAS" and Two of the (thickest) nah jus kidding best U.S Navy Seals. People diss the way That Single player is...wether its too Hard or Too Easy. This is how to make it easy. Use the Voice Commands to tell the Bravo Team to do things. If there is an Enemy Place your Crosshaire on him and say "Bravo Attack Crosshaire" That way u can sit back and Twiddle your thumbs whilste Your team Mates do the work, But be warned to help them out because they can get you into Sticky Situations. Another thing that can make it hard is yor ammo Supplies. Like i said use Bravo to attack Enemies... Or Sneek up on your Enemie and Stab him smack him with The Butt of the Rifle of Jus kill them with a handgun... Easy Peesiiee :-D

Online: Meet up to 15 other players in a mass war on 22 Different Terrains. There is nothing really to fault on The makers side of the Game... But the odd person with a poor connection Can ruin the game slightly when the lagg causes people to walk through walls. The only other Downside is the Ranking System. It can Pee you off but it is still fun When you get your Captains Wings.

I really do recomend this to any age group but if you cant be mature online then dont bother... You wont get anywere and peopel Will boot you out of them game. If you see me online my Name is [T3R] Sharp UK wud b nice to have a game with you.

Game graphics are great, Gameplay is desirable.38276

(MAA)~Caedes~ from Upper Marlboro, Maryland says (15/Jan/2004):
Other than a few cheaters, Team killers, Frequent Lags. This game has much to offer. I feel future versions will have less lags and glitches. Due to the number of players logged on at a given time the Rooms are hard to get into being that they're always packed. Ranking is definately a problem in this game you cannot stay off for more than a day or it'll drop your rank.
Skills are a must in this game, so i advise newcomers to play through the single player mode to get adjusted to the controls and the stages (even though the stages are not exactly as you play it on the single player, they are noticably similar). The idea of joining a CLAN is cool but they should rename it to UNIT since it is a military terminology used to identify group/groups rather than making it sound like you're joining a bunch of bed spread wearing haters. This game is very addicting and once you start you'll notice time has drastically flown by, literally from dusk till dawn. I've noticed a few cheaters but the invisibility is found to be a serious glitch as well as a terrorist spawning on the seals side. For those of you who purchased the network adapters separately, I urge you "DO NOT USE THE NETWORK SOFTWARE PROVIDED" you will get booted very frequently and PS2 will restart itself constantly. Configure your network settings by just using the "ONLINE" option on the game disk and you will notice lot less reboots and restarts. I have ran into a SOCOM Server Admin and supposedly they are working on a solution to rid of the cheaters and block their IP address permanently if this does happen then more fun in store for the straight skilled people. Look for me: (MAA)~Caedes~ or (7C) Ante Up! or (MDG)The Woo

Submarine Glitch44024

=COLD-FUSION= from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada says (30/Jan/2005):
Hi,do u have trouble getting kills in the level "Chain Reaction?
Do you just wanna be MVP for all the Chain Reaction games you enter? Well your prayers are answered, the 1st thing you do is go down to the lowest floor you can by using the stairs or spawning (terrorists) of course go foward and you will see a ramp that connects into the submarine(either side is fine), make sure your holding either a PMN Mine or a Claymore. Look around for some boxes that you can climb on climb on the box and you should be able to go ontop of the submarine but dont do that...Once you climbed on the box (make sure ure using a claymore or pmn mine) press X, you should be hanging, then press up, you will start to climb on top of the submarine, when your shoulders are over the line that seperates the inside of the sub and the outside immdeatily press R1 you should plant the claymore or mine and go inside of the submarine (in the sub-bottom level). Congradulations! You have done a glitch you can now see people anywhere in the map and they cant see YOU! Of course you can shoot, kill, throw bombs at your opponents lol. Be warned if you go passed the perimeter of the submarine you can not go back in that leaves you stuck..which means PEOPLE CAN SEE YOU! Anyways...good luck with that! Oh ya! I beat the game in Admiral meaning i have Feral! Yipee! My name is =COLD-FUSION= or NightCrawler (accent grave on the i) both are Lt.Commanders...I know i suck lol. Im on only at the weekends(when i feel like it, lol) because I dont want to play too much you know, like i dont wanna play so much that i turn into a geek...im cool, lol =) Well enjoy the Submarine Glitch its pretty cool, contact me for more glitches!

One Shot,One Kill-Or How I learned to stop worrying and Love the Thermal Scope-35538

pimpin' big daddy mike from santa monica Ca,USA says (17/Nov/2003):
Well,How many times have we seen a game sequel that just did'nt quite make feel as excited as the first game? Do developers really listen? Hell yes they do! SOCOM 2 is a benchmark in the world of gaming. To start,I'm only going to talk about the single player game.I know the online tribe is huge,I'm still in the dark ages as far as online play. The first level is kinda weird.I must say I was worried that the game had changed for the worst. The level just seemed "different".Much like the first few minutes of Metal Gear Solid,I wondered if they worked a little harder on the first part of the game, fired it up and it actually looked WORSE that SOCOM 1.My heart sank, and I continued playing. It seems that the 2nd mission is more akin the the landcape and control I'm used to.Weapons are such an important part of the game and of course this was one of the first areas I looked into antisapating the arrival of the new game.In a word, SHOTGUNS AND ROCKETS! Well, seeing that some of us believe in Peace through Superior Firepower, more is better. So,let me be the devils advocate for a bit.Everyone's falling all over them selves on how great the game is,you've read that review.
Let's see if anything is lacking in this newer version.
1.Weapons toggle:took me a minute to learn to hold down or click twice.
2.Night Vision/Thermal Toggle:Why can you use night and thermal together one right after the other in some parts, not in others?
In Brazil, night vision is only availible with your pistol.(?)
3.There is no # 3.I can't think of any other problems.

I, in short, love this game more than any before it.It creates a "real world enviroment" that gamers will be enjoying for years to come.

All Hands Down Socom2 Is the Best F*ck#en Game Ever!34979

Will from San Antonio Texas USA says (9/Nov/2003):
No I'm not bullshettin so you just go buy the game, but you need to, its just..whew only the best game ever. I'm a All OUT GAMER head to toe from Nintindo to Sega to Atari to Microsoft..and I usually don't discriminate but if these companies thought they had somthin on sony they just got PIMP SLAPPED with the new Socom 2. PS2 is using every bite of there system to project the most realstic graphics ever seen through a tv screene, superb and unbelievable game play, and i have to say the replay value is phenomenol. And let me tell you about internet play..DAMN! Is the SHEET! Let me say one word to describe it "SWEEEETE". If your a most unfortunate person and hav'nt played online..First thing I have to say is I feel exstremely sorry for you. Let me be the first to tell you in the realm of double jumps and plazma ray guns its like having your first piece of as every time you connect. And to actually play is...ah... im speachless. And guess what it doesnt even end there. First I must inform you that this game all ready is definetly the BOBM! and there is no need to add are improve anything, but have you heard the rumor of the new Hard Drive for the PS2 yeah well..it comes out this March as a dual package with Final Fantasy Vl 99$. The point I'm trying to get through to you is having the hard drive will enable you to download new and inovative levels for Socom2..yep they went that far this game it's ULTIMATE!
If your a true gamer you must get this game NOW! If you dont have a PS2 system go buy one..NOW!.. yeah its worth it. If you Dont even play video games you still need to see it becuause its a start of a gaming REVOLUTION.

What were they thinking?!!!!!!35161

Socom2 name: =Stalker= from Connecticut,USA says (11/Nov/2003):
Socom II is terrible. The creators screwed up alot on this game. The controls are awful. They were soooo much better in the first one.The new health system is horrible. It just gives people who suck at the game more of a chance to avoid death. And I also dislike the new recoil affect. It makes it difficult to shoot. And you can consider yourself lucky to get any kills with this recoil thing going on.Another thing that makes this game worse is the new way that players are ranked compared to everyone else in a game and everyone else online. In a game,it is stupid that a guy with half the kills of another teammate can have more points. And it is rediculous that one minute I can be ranked in the 60,000s and the next minute I'm ranked in the 18,000s.And it works the other way around too.And how they redid some of the levels sucks. They ruined Abandoned by making it pitch black, and they screwed up Rats Nest by blocking up some of the paths and making it impossible to play without night vision. In these levels, and a few others, you're pretty much wandering around until you bump into an opponent.

But the game wasn't a total loss.I did enjoy playing some of the levels.I did, however, find that some of them were way too big, like Fox Hunt. And the graphics were much better than before.I also like that they added a option to do a victory dance. It's also great that you can talk in the lobby now. That way you can make sure your message isn't blocked out by flooded text. And most importantly NO CHEATERS!That was the most important thing to me.If there was cheaters I would give up on this game and go back to the first Socom game.

'''''''''''The Best Shooting Game ps2 Has''''''''''''46384

DAMARIO says (11/Nov/2006):
Socom 2 u.s.navy seals is the best shooting game the ps2 has to offer or,should i say ever made.i've been playing this game for 2 year and have'nt got burned out yet. socom 2 is a game that you can wake up in the morning(anytime) to play and gurenteed 2 have a ball.this is one of the games i can sit down & play when i have a bad day or just any old day.the longest time i've played scm 2 was from 11am-6am and i only took 2min bathroom brakes orate for 10min then i'm < remove me > at it agin.i can play socom for a long time unless i have to go to school but i still play allday after school.i have like 20 family members in columbus, ohio who has this game and there addicted to.i hate socom 3 and have yet played socom 4.but i still think there is'nt a better socom than 2. one day i got game sick when me and my big brother got into a fight about who was playing the game longer so my grandma took it and i stood in her face sad until she ghave it back and i was so,happy.recently in 2005 my grandma got sick of us and refused to pAY THE CABLE BILL AND IT DISCONNECTED FOR LIKE 2 MONTHS. Definitely a step above SOCOM 137811

A gamer says (2/Jan/2004):
SOCOM 2 is definitely better than the first SOCOM in many ways. First and foremost, there's more realism. I hated when you were shot in some weird place like the foot and you get killed instantly. This time, the game focuses on headshots to actually give the game a little sense. And also, the bullets are different. If you shot some guy in the arm with a silenced 9mm, it would take like nine shots. But if you use something like a .45 or a .50, it would take around three or four. Second, cheaters are gooooooooooooooooooooooone! HALL. LE. LU. JAH. Those stupid glitchers and GS/AR cheap cheaters were annoying. The glitch where you climb up the ladder, go down, do something so you can sink underground and shoot everyone was cheap. I heard it had something to do with some code that Sony changes every week or so that prevents cheaters. Also, online mode has more things to do. New maps, objectives for maps, two new modes, air strikes, skins (as in new characters for multiplayer, like Goldeneye and World is Not Enough for N64) that you unlock in single player for online, and such make online mode better than SOCOM 1. Even the graphics and sound seem better, and you can unlock songs in single player to listen to.

There's also more weapons. Shotguns (WHOOP-FRIGGITY-DE-FRIGGITY-DO!!), rocket launchers (YAY!), more assault rifles including bullpup rifles (YAY!), two new handguns, a new sniper rifle, a new submachine gun, and other nice goodies like proximity mines, a thermal scope, amongst other things.

All in all, I think Zipper did a great job.

BOY OH BOY....ALRIGHTY THEN...GOOD GAME36273

James from Eureka Illinois says (29/Nov/2003):
Man this game is so much better than the first one..i love how there isnt any cheaters and the selection of guns..there is so much more stuff in this game..but what i hate the most is how people are all sayin this game is horrible..and it is more noob friendly..well i think they are only sayin it sux is becuase they suck at it..i am in the middle of single player on commander difficulty and it is easy it should be more challenging...but what someone said about the hostages and the vips is that they shouldnt just stand there they should be able to move around..the ranking system is really messed up..and the glitch for the hostage and vip extraction is stupid..half of the people i have played with use it...they have like no kills and like 10 deaths but have like over 500 points..that is one thing that really needs to be fixed..the graphics are awesome the aftershock of the flash last longer and is alot more realistic then the first...but i love how you get infrared but it does cut some of the range off of your scope..and i think that all the weapons should be available in all levels..like how the terririst get the mgl launcher when the seals dont get there m4a1 M203 on nightstalker....but all in all it is a reallly good game.but i dont like how they changed the first levels they should have left them exactly the same except for the turrets the added..those are actually a fun part in the game...i like how there is respawn and glad that it doesnt go towards your ranking.....

Good research, great game36317

Gothalytpic from Hell on earth says (29/Nov/2003):
Good job on the game Zipper. I Found both online, and single player to be a great joy to play. I must jump on the bandwagon and say this: "STFU babies". The game is more realistic then the first, I mean come on, you're not going to kill me with an AK to the arm for real are you? Well, maybe, but not right away, the way most seem to expect in the game. I might bleed to death before I die from the shot itself. Off that boat now. This game is great, the controls took a bit to get used to, however the double push, or the hold to switch fire rate is great, I'm not a leet player by any stretch of the imagination, in fact to be blunt, I suck at the game. I need to work on my aim again, as the recoil factor is a bit more realistic, again for those who complain, you try shooting an AK and see how bad your RL recoil is....hard to shoot in a straight line isn't it? The graphics rocks, all in all game play rocks, you actually have to complete missions online in order to attain higher points, as oppossed to the first where you can just run and gun, which was no fun. If I want to run and gun, I'll go back to playing doom on my PC. If I want a game that takes skill, a sense of strategy, and overall SKILL (again which I don't have yet lol). Grow up people, stop complaining and learn to shoot a gun, learn to dodge bullets, this ain't the matrix where you can poof your way out of harms way, this is a game, enjoy it, stop crying, and turn the power button off....nuff said, GAME ROCKS!

New Game, New Problems40561

Scottay from Connecticut, US says (21/Apr/2004):
This game seemed pretty sweet at first, but as time passed there seemed to be flaws in the online game.First of all, there has been several glitches in the game.A few examples of such glitches are the box glitch in Chain Reaction & the ladder glitch in Sujo. And although there have been many complaints about the ranking system, I have discovered something more than a problem with how they determine rank.I have found a glitch in the ranking system.People have been using a glitch in the system to up their rank by thousands of points. How the glitch works is that they choose a map with a hill on it(the most popular one is Fish Hook)and they have multiple people on one side and one on the other. What they do is have all the people on the larger side stand close to the edge of a hill. Then the the single person from the other side kills them all.As they are falling to the ground, the dying player has to press the L3 and R3 buttons down repeatedly(they are the sticks located on the center of the controller). When done successfully, it makes it appear as though the player is still alive even though he is dead(it appears this way to other players, but you can't see your body). And somehow this raises your rank significantly. You probably have seen one of these rooms before. The name usually contains the phrase "Rank^" in it.And if anyone knows how I can contact the people at the company about this, please e-mail me with the information.

SOCOM II SHOOTIN' DOWN HALO41271

Eric Noles from St. louis MO USA says (12/Jun/2004):
Ok now i may not know much about how good other ps2 games are,(seeing i only got my ps2 around christmas) but the first game i got was socom II. So anyway, I used to love playing halo at my friends house i thought it was the best and i started to wish they had it for ps2 cause i was planning on buying 1.... so then my dad got my socom II for christmas. So I tryed it and it was awsome! I was thinkin this is just like halo only realistickly(as in this time period!) not that halos is bad, but socom II was better than halo by far in my eyes....
Then i got an online adapter. The first time i went online i was amazed. The game flowed so smoothly even though sometimes there is lag and ur game freezes or something like that. The only disadvatage is that the glitches some people do can get anoying
so now i have a usb keyboard and a usb headset and a lot more games. I even got that hard drive too download some cool new socom updates when i origionally got it i got it for the final fantasy XI online but it turned out that socom kicked the crap out of that game too!! so now halo is basicly all i play! and the good thing is it pretty much never gets old. Theres always room for improvment because even if ur ranked number 1, the second u have a bad match or if u dont play the people behind you can easily pass you up. So back to the point....
SOCOM II IS THE BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED
THE END

cheaters and glitchers42172

Brian Byrnes from san bernardino california usa says (9/Aug/2004):
ok, i know that there are alot of people that cheat and glitch. what can we do. the only people who can fix this is zipper inneractive inc. we can complain all we want but that is not going to stop them from cheating. i look on this site and i see people who call people pussies for for telling peoples what is going on. i think those are the cheaters. even though we can not stop this, we can let people awair of other people who are cheating. for example, people who read this this know what1 where the glitches are so that people can tell if they are glitching. if i could stop the glitches i would, but unfortionly i cant. and i am sure u have heard of glitch clans like denaus and infeareor. i am sorry for all of u who have been killed by cheaters and those who have been yelled at by cheaters. i hope there is going to be a socom 3, cause i just dont want them to keep adding stuff for the hard drive. every body knows that socom is not only addicting, it is also the best game in the world. i have seen the socom cheat sites and message boards and i see bad comments and stuff like that. u can say bad stuff about this, u do not have to find this helpful. i dont give a dam. i am only poasting this because i want to. my user name is EVIL NUTZ, it use to be EVIL NUTS. message me if this is useful to u

SOCOM 2 and the cheater factor35752

Solitaire from Chicago says (21/Nov/2003):
I liked reading Davids comments about how the DNAS servers can't stop cheat codes. It's obvious that David doesn't know what he's talking about. The DNAS server registers your IP, your game disc, and your NA and your PS2 onto the network. It also reads your memory card, and blocks and suspends players for incorrect codes on the memory cards. The game IS cheat free so far. The DNAS can also be updated with ANY and ALL new codes that do come out, and can be blocked within a timely manner. It may not be immediate, but it'll be there.

Now, onto the game itself. Very little, if any glitches were found after the beta test. I rated it an 8 because of the lag. Well, big surprise. The internet has lag. I know. It's shocking isn't it? The game itself is awesome. The have redone all of the maps and added more foilage, darkness, turrets, etc to the game. The new maps are incredible. The team is based strongly on team effort, the days of runners and gunners are gone for the most part. it blows away SOCOM I by far. I have had the game since it came out, and STILL have not had the chance to play on ALL of the maps yet. get the game, you'll be feeding your addiction soon enough.

Oh, and a personal note to "David", If you were skilled to begin with - you wouldn't need the cheat codes now, would you?

Better than the last.37397

Sergeant Pyro from Ponoka says (26/Dec/2003):
First off, the best improvement is your stealth capabilities. Having more foliage to hide in and having it actually WORK!! Number one improvement. The extra commands that u can give to your teammates like GET DOWN helps alot, plus when you say STEALTH TO so and so, they actually use stealth, not just a walk a little slow than run your ass off, than run a little slow. Their shooting seems to be better at times, since real SEALS don't know how to miss. The levels are very fun to roam around in, and are full of primary and secondary paths. The only bad thing i have to say about the game is the computer movement when he spots you, very choppy, not smooth. Also if anyone has ever played Splinter Cell, and has snuck around nicely and at quite a nice pace, I would like to see that quick and smoothness put into this game. I find the creeping to slow, and take to much time, I loved the speed at which Splinter Cell moved at while still being still stealthy. Other than those little things, I adore this game, and am still playing the first one, even though I am stuck on a mission in Lt.Jr. where I just cant pass on the fact that the computer has a crack shot and VERY RARELY misses. I still love these two games and hope they carry one with these and of course the GTA series.

MY SOCOM 2 REVIEW FROM A CHEATER35735

david says (20/Nov/2003):
ok, socom 2 is O.K.. theres is alot of new stuff such as RPG's and M203 gernade launcher that really make the game more newby friendly, it takes almost no skill to kill anyone with thoses damn things. well i really do not like the newly added shellshock thing when it shakes ur screen when u are close to a nade but other than that ur a freakn awsome game. Theres alot of people that dont like the game and thats only because they probley FOCKEN SUCK AT IT, so of course there gonna put the game down, am and also a part time cheaters, i hope the codes will be broken soon and they will be broken theres notihn socom can do to stop it, because we do not pay for the severs like we do for xbox live, DNAS canot stop anything all it is , is socom sever provider, you fockn newby lookk in ur socom booklet and it clearly says severs provided by DNAS, it is not a hack stopers in anyway. other than that socom 2 kick ass, andi hope i kill all yall soon when the codes come out and so i can cheat over all ur crying asses and hear you cry because you cant afford a codebeaker, and another thing it takes more skill to cheat than it does to play normal, it takes hackers the even break socoms codes with is a hell of alot harder than it sounds, soo all i cant say is haha ur a newb. =)
