Socom II online is by far the most addictive thing to ever be created!! I am not a "gamer" by any stretch of the imagination, but this game has got me hooked. The intense action involved in a good match is equal to any thing you could ever dream. So many different aspects make this game good. The graphics, the gun seltion, the strategy, the teamwork. Another reaaly cool aspect is joining a clan. I have met some of the coolest cats in my clan and we all live in different areas of the country and all love this game. The only true downfall to Socom II is the terrible lag that exists in some maps like Bitter Jungle, Night Stalker and a few others. These maps are great but they really are hampered by the lag.
So if you dont know Socom....GET SOCOM and GET ONLINE!!

This game rocks, It was much improved from the first installment. The controls....while changed slightly, still remain very easy to use. The amount of weapons available is insane. I hear a lot of complaints about the recoil factor, well....sorry but deal with it you whimpering little biatch. Recoil is a part of firing a rifle. I also like the fact that the health bar is noticable and contains information on who has the satchel charges, it allows you to keep track of your men and thier capabilities. The bonus objectives are a nice touch because they allow you to test your ability to think on your feet, a requirement in combat situations. The ever changing circumstances in each mission also make for more interesting game play. The AI is much more advanced and team members are more reliable...and very accurate. I can't tell you how many times my teammates have saved my < remove me > at ss from getting shot. This game rocks...a must have

i was never really in to games in till i got socom2 its the best game on the market. even tho there are still glitches and cheaters its not the end of the world u can just vote people out. when people get mad about it its just gay i mean they could just leave if they are so pissed about it. well if u get socom2 play me my screen name is element_skater. also the new maps on here are awesome like fish hook. my favorite map is vig. it has the best places to hide and the coolest snipin places.i like the ranking system to its pretty fair to me but the people who say that its not its only because they suck. and i'm not very high in the ranks tho i'm only a Lt. which isnt very high but i'm pretty good.

This game seemed pretty sweet at first, but as time passed there seemed to be flaws in the online game.First of all, there has been several glitches in the game.A few examples of such glitches are the box glitch in Chain Reaction & the ladder glitch in Sujo.And although there have been many complaints about the ranking system, I have discovered something more than a problem with how they determine rank.I have found a glitch in the ranking system.People have been using a glitch in the system to up their rank by thousands of points.How the glitch works is that they choose a map with a hill on it(the most popular one is Fish Hook)and they have multiple people on one side and one on the other.What they do is have all the people on the larger side stand close to the edge of a hill.Then the the single person from the other side kills them all.As they are falling to the ground, the dying player has to press the L3 and R3 buttons down repeatedly(they are the sticks located on the center of the controller).When done successfully, it makes it appear as though the player is still alive even though he is dead(it appears this way to other players,but you can't see your body).And somehow this raises your rank significantly.You probably have seen one of these rooms before.The name usually contains the phrase "Rank^" in it.And if anyone knows how I can contact the people at the company about this, please e-mail me with the information.

This game is by far the best ps2 game yet to come out. But only online play. DO NOT buy this game if you dont have a network adapter and a compatable isp. The online play is completely addicting.Yes glitchers gamesharkers and all those other you know wuts are still in the game but just deal with it cuz no matter where you go some1 is giong to be there to give you a hard time.The new maps are awesome (Crossroads, Fish Hook) and the other socom 1 maps r still there. Added guns r awesome and the graphics r awesome. THe one bad thing in then game is the disadvantage on online between SEALS and Terrorist. Seals have an advantage with better guns(M203s Iw-80) and on lots of levels the seals have a better starting advantage.The best terrorist guns(M14 M203)the seals also have. Juat go out and buy the game so i can maybe play you and hopefully beat u(SoCoM~JaYhAwK)

Ok listen for those who have never played this game before first thing you shoudl do is listen to me not the faggs who tell you the game sucked.Glitching is very little on socom 2 when i play because all you gotta do is get a good group of guys in your clan ( suck as (plays in clan games) & they wont come into your roosm in cheat.Ive never had but 1 person on thsi game cheat in a room ive been in & recoil...health bar & ect. is part of the game deal with it if your so good.The game also has teh HDD option ( sould be able to download stuff soon ).Sony has also been stepping in with the online play,giving users dopwnloadable patches to rid of the glitches.The offline play is spectacular,you can unlock guns as in the first game but now you also can unlock charecters for online play........the game has sharp shooter & shure shot control configurations,& you can adjust headset volume,look speed,& much much much other stuff through the options menu.

the health bar sucks. i hate it. the noodie cannon and the nood tube suck. they are for the noobs who suck at socom 2. the cheating also sucks. people are sellin codes and chetas on ebay for like 10 bucks and they email the gameshark codes and other stuff to you. my name on socom 2 is /ARCHANGEL\ if anyone wants a beating one on one. overall this game is alright but it could be alot better. so if the people that are going to make socom 3 read this get rid of the recoil, gameshark codes, glitches and all of the other cheating things that you can do because if i buy socom 3 and its like socom2 with all of the codes and stuff like that iwon't buy any other socom game or any other game that zipper interactive makes. oh ya almost forgot get rig of the life bar.

what words can some this game up, i Dont think there are any. This game is highly addictive and was not a let down as most Sequals tend to be.
Single Player: You take on the roll of the Ex Bravo Squad teamate Specter From "SOCOM: U.S Navy Seals" and Lead 3 other team mates through 12 Challenging Levels. Your team Consists of 2 Parts the "Able" team which you are part of and the "Bravo" Team which ranges from The British "SAS" and Two of the (thickest) nah jus kidding best U.S Navy Seals. People diss the way That Single player is...wether its too Hard or Too Easy. This is how to make it easy. Use the Voice Commands to tell the Bravo Team to do things. If there is an Enemy Place your Crosshaire on him and say "Bravo Attack Crosshaire" That way u can sit back and Twiddle your thumbs whilste Your team Mates do the work, But be warned to help them out because they can get you into Sticky Situations. Another thing that can make it hard is yor ammo Supplies. Like i said use Bravo to attack Enemies... Or Sneek up on your Enemie and Stab him smack him with The Butt of the Rifle of Jus kill them with a handgun... Easy Peesiiee :-D
Online: Meet up to 15 other players in a mass war on 22 Different Terrains. There is nothing really to fault on The makers side of the Game... But the odd person with a poor connection Can ruin the game slightly when the lagg causes people to walk through walls. The only other Downside is the Ranking System. It can Pee you off but it is still fun When you get your Captains Wings.
I really do recomend this to any age group but if you cant be mature online then dont bother... You wont get anywere and peopel Will boot you out of them game. If you see me online my Name is [T3R] Sharp UK wud b nice to have a game with you.

O.k. this game definetly improves on its early version. Why do I give it a 8 ?It simply is addictive online. Glitches there may be , but Free online game play vs. intense gunfights, coupled with smack talk make this more than a game, Its a social event.
Now there are some problems. Some wine about the glitching, I say, thats what the votes are for. No really though, and you players know what I'm talking about , the reload button on the right joystick has gotten me killed more than error combined. This really frustrates me and we must let the makers of socom know that this must be changed.
Also I have a strong feeling that the servers for socom 2 cannot handle the amount players that are playing online at any given time, but the fact that socom 2 does not charge for online play , patience is a virtue.

This is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Single player is good, and you're teammates listen well and are very helpful in killing enemies. But the real sweetness in the game is online. If you have a broadband connection (DSL, cable, any high speed, NOT dial-up), then you HAVE TO play it online. Its the best online game i've ever played by far. Better than any Xbox Live game that i've tried. Graphics are great online and off, and cool weapons. Its great online b/c its basically impossible to cheat, and talking strategy with your teammates is fun. Don't hesitate to get it online, and no, it DOESN'T cost any monthly/yearly fee to play this game. If you have any questions feel free to email me, and get this game. game is great like i said and play socom 2 online, its fun meeting people and playing the game. Trying to get up in rank is fun too.

Socom2 is the best video game on the planet especially online with all the new guns and secret character like Sabre, Reaver and so much more. The thing I hate is some of the new guns but my favorite is the M87ELR sniper rifle. The new patch for socom is cool to because it stops the glitching and cheating. I play it every day online and im still trying to beat the 4th mission on Socom2. If any dosent have this game you should get it. Its an all time favorite. I give Socom2 a 10 out of ten 10 hope evryone likes it.

This is definetly one of the best ever games and ive only got this two days ago.The missions are filled with tention and detirmination but the rewards are exellent and the levels long.You can more or less take your own route about the levels and do the objectives in any order.The objectives are fairly easy but some are hard although all put together it can be a challenge.The graphics and gameplay are amazing and brilliant with the ability to use the terrain for camoflauge.Everything is amazing on it and the music is very good especially the secret music.If you do want an easy game Ensign a hard one is Admiral or middle commander.

The primary reason that I decided to buy Socom 2 was because of the promise that there would be no cheaters online. It started out that way, but it didn't last for long. Now every kind of cheater is back. The glitchers, the skywalkers, the unkillables, and even the ghosts. So now not only does this game contain all the new crap that they added in, it also has piled on the old crap from the first game. So now when playing online I don't only have to deal with the new recoil, newbies using missile launchers to get easy kills, and the screwed up ranking system, I now have to watch out for the many cheaters who have snuck their way into the Socom 2 world. So I guess some things will never change. So if you are playing online and you start to suspect that someone might be cheating, it is safe to say that they are. Also I would like to say that this game seems awful laggy to me. Every time the amount of people online reaches 30,000, the game lags and has a poor connection to games. However, it could just be my game. Just thought I would mention it just in case.

Everyone here makes some good points. Those that insist upon cheating can expect to be shot in the head by me or thier own team; So don't bother. I have been playing for some time and have not had ANY problems with lag. So stop being cheap and upgrade to DSL or Cable. It is apparent that some very long hours went into the making of Socom II and I applaud those involved. Definitely a game worth buying if you enjoy a realistic battle where you need to rely on each other for victory. Yes, the rank system leaves something to be desired, but what is rank really? I have seen Ensigns who shoot better than Captain, so who cares, just gloat about the kills. Maybe Socom III will have a different view on this but I do like the fact that it takes into account the skill and work of the entire team. This isn't a one man arny type of game. If you want that, stay off-line and play the single player version. That still kicks a$$ too.

Its is a really good game. I never did play Socom 1, but I heard now the people that play it online only play it for the cheats. The only thing I don't like on Socom 2 is the glitches, and the ranking system. I will have a good game, and still go down in the rankings. Whats up with that? My favorite map is Fish Hook. I dont really like the datk maps, because I have bad eye sight, and its hard to see the enemy in the datk. If anyone can tell me whats up with the ranking system, e-mail me, and let me know. That makes me mad they cant get the ranking system right.

Glitchers... And my frozen game problem!! I always freeze it drives me crazy! And I tried everything to stop the dam lag but nope doesn't work... I ahte my life and SOCOM: II.
Sony you blow hardcore for making this.. And zipper... What the hell were you guys thinking at the time???? I just don't understand why I was brought to earth cause all that happened
was making the world worse for everybody including me.
SOCOM: II I bet is way worse than Socom I i really think so. I bet it lags a lot less for one and two I bet it doesn't freeze as soon as you enter a briefing room.

Hey you guys i love Socom 1& Socom 2, but the glitching is the best but the problem is there this one glitch i can never get its the one where people point up with the turret and they teleport and float, there guns on there back and there shooting from back there ect. This glitch is getting really gay because sometimes you cant even kil them. I mean i woud like to know how to do this glitch. Another one is the invisible glitch I highly recomend you do NOT try it last night i got it off a website it made my guy lag like crazy and it didn't work. The game is off the hook! Its not perfect, because of the glitches.But darn close. The graphics are like silk sheets layed on a bed just made by a General. The sound is intense. Just hook up the audio cables to your stereo. A grenade will sound like it just blew up next to you. Not that I'v ever had a grenade blow up next to me. Gameplay is tight like a 21 year old virgin who aint giving it up until shes married. What makes the game whack for me is the ranking system. I think it should be based on kills not score, unless they are scoring the kills.And if they are it doesnt seem like it. They should devise a new ranking system! I have 300 more kills than deaths and 270 more wins than loses and Im still LTC Ranked at 120,000 hoping that after each game Im not deranked!..I lead a clan of more than 13. Well, mostly everyone in the game knows there are some glitching in this game and people has found a way to do them. Like for example the glitch on vigilance, the one that people can jump on the roof. I do it and I saw alot of other people do it and i think its not glitching. If you can get killed while your up there then its not called glitching. The only glitch on that map is the one that you go under the ground and under the building. See that is glitching because no one can kill you. Another glitch that people do and some people complain about because they cant do it is the glitch on frostfire. That is the one that u climb on one of the crates and jump onto the balcony conected to the computer room. I cant do that one, but i saw 1 person do it. Some terrorist complain when they do it because we kill them when they are camping in the computer room. Well we wont kill them if they planted some mines by that door way. Well thats it and for anyone who complains about glitching then shut the **** up.
