Great Game but why is it possible to cheat?????? |

Socom 2 is really one of the best games around, especially the online part. But why is it still possible to cheat and glitch? Is there really nothing that the creators can do about it? I love to play the game but here in Europe the cheating is just getting started. And what about the aborting?
The game is supposed to be fun but when you win a round and everybody on the losing team is aborting, and they just get away with it. No punishment or nothing, and the ranking isn't so fair either, The good and fair players get punished because they do not abort or cheat, strange huh? it looks like they wanted guys to cheat and abort when they created the game. A lot of people I know don't even wanna play anymore because of cheats. When we bought the game people said that there was no cheating possible. Guess again right.

Well,How many times have we seen a game sequel that just did'nt quite make feel as excited as the first game? Do developers really listen? Hell yes they do! SOCOM 2 is a benchmark in the world of gaming.To start,I'm only going to talk about the single player game.I know the online tribe is huge,I'm still in the dark ages as far as online play.The first level is kinda weird.I must say I was worried that the game had changed for the worst.The level just seemed "different".Much like the first few minutes of Metal Gear Solid,I wondered if they worked a little harder on the first part of the game,fired it up and it actually looked WORSE that SOCOM 1.My heart sank,and I continued playing.It seems that the 2nd mission is more akin the the landcape and control I'm used to.Weapons are such an important part of the game and of course this was one of the first areas I looked into antisapating the arrival of the new game.In a word, SHOTGUNS AND ROCKETS! Well,seeing that some of us believe in Peace through Superior Firepower,more is better.So,let me be the devils advocate for a bit.Everyone's falling all over them selves on how great the game is,you've read that review.
Let's see if anything is lacking in this newer version.
1.Weapons toggle:took me a minute to learn to hold down or click twice.
2.Night Vision/Thermal Toggle:Why can you use night and thermal together one right after the other in some parts,not in others?
In Brazil,night vision is only availible with your pistol.(?)
3.There is no # 3.I can't think of any other problems.
I, in short,love this game more than any before it.It creates a "real world enviroment" that gamers will be enjoying for years to come.

Ok now i may not know much about how good other ps2 games are,(seeing i only got my ps2 around christmas) but the first game i got was socom II. So anyway, I used to love playing halo at my friends house i thought it was the best and i started to wish they had it for ps2 cause i was planning on buying 1.... so then my dad got my socom II for christmas. So I tryed it and it was awsome! I was thinkin this is just like halo only realistickly(as in this time period!) not that halos is bad, but socom II was better than halo by far in my eyes....
Then i got an online adapter. The first time i went online i was amazed. The game flowed so smoothly even though sometimes there is lag and ur game freezes or something like that. The only disadvatage is that the glitches some people do can get anoying
so now i have a usb keyboard and a usb headset and a lot more games. I even got that hard drive too download some cool new socom updates when i origionally got it i got it for the final fantasy XI online but it turned out that socom kicked the crap out of that game too!! so now halo is basicly all i play! and the good thing is it pretty much never gets old. Theres always room for improvment because even if ur ranked number 1, the second u have a bad match or if u dont play the people behind you can easily pass you up. So back to the point....

teamates around.theres secret commands too, like team report in
and they will tell u there status and what there doing.this time
enemies yell your possition to other terrorist.did I Mention THey like to travel in groups with other terrorist.AnyBody whose looking for a really, really, really,great game this is the game you want to buy man.it's really, sweet .this game has too be the best game you have ever played in your life thats what socom 2 is about. even if your not into war games, (action games) i'll bet you you will love this game.It is better than the first socom us navy seals .you will love it i gurantee it . that my review for socom 2 us navy seals.

Well let me start out by saying thank you to Zipper Interactive and Sony for releasing what has to be the best game to ever hit the PS2 console. If you liked Socom 1, then Socom 2 will leave you in total dismay! I havent even touched the single player missions, but the online maps and gameplay are unreal. New weapons, new uniforms and new surroundings make this game the best I have ever played. There are way too many things for me to sit here and list about the game so I will leave it at this. Socom 1 was amazing, well Socom 2 blows it away hands down. Trust me, I was addicted to Socom 1 and now I am affraid to see what 2 is going to do to me. (22 online maps) So look out for me in Central 4!! (CMD) Bazerk

Dude dont buy it i cant get in the rooms so if u get it i wont be able to get in any rooms but it is great man i wouldnt change 1 thing in it everything socom wanted to be is socom2 u cant improve on it. i cant stop playin it blows every other game out of the water. i havent played single player yet but i heard it was fun.

Man, this is a great game. Really better then the first. Online is the freaking greatest! I love it.
Anyone that has played or has the first Socom, need to get their hands on this. This is probably going to be the BEST game of the year. This is a great game.
If you do not have an Internet Adapter. No hard feelings, great single player game as well!

No I'm not bullshettin so you just go buy the game, but you need to, its just..whew only the best game ever. I'm a All OUT GAMER head to toe from Nintindo to Sega to Atari to Microsoft..and I usually don't discriminate but if these companies thought they had somthin on sony they just got PIMP SLAPPED with the new Socom 2. PS2 is using every bite of there system to project the most realstic graphics ever seen through a tv screene, superb and unbelievable game play, and i have to say the replay value is phenomenol. And let me tell you about internet play..DAMN! Is the SHEET! Let me say one word to describe it "SWEEEETE". If your a most unfortunate person and hav'nt played online..First thing I have to say is I feel exstremely sorry for you. Let me be the first to tell you in the realm of double jumps and plazma ray guns its like having your first piece of as every time you connect. And to actually play is...ah... im speachless. And guess what it doesnt even end there. First I must inform you that this game all ready is definetly the BOBM! and there is no need to add are improve anything, but have you heard the rumor of the new Hard Drive for the PS2 yeah well..it comes out this March as a dual package with Final Fantasy Vl 99$. The point I'm trying to get through to you is having the hard drive will enable you to download new and inovative levels for Socom2..yep they went that far this game it's ULTIMATE!
If your a true gamer you must get this game NOW! If you dont have a PS2 system go buy one..NOW!.. yeah its worth it. If you Dont even play video games you still need to see it becuause its a start of a gaming REVOLUTION.

This game is so sweet to play online, me and my clan !ARMY! that plays in us east3 are the best there and we own everyone in that server because we klnow how to stratigise to make us succesfull.So make sure that you buy the game and get it online so that you can come face me and my clan.

This game is fantastic. The enemy runs for cover, not like other games. They make themselves hard to kill. Your Teamates compared to the first game are a step beyond. Quick "thinking" A.I. and easy to remember controls make this hands down the fighting game to have. The Music is even on cue in this edition of SOCOM. Graphicaly the game is as sophisticated as ever. Ive never enjoyed killing the bad guys in any game as i have in Socom. Tons of places to hide and a great array of weapons at your disposal, This is Thee game to get. Worth every penny!

You want a reality in war? Play this game. It is the closes game to the real war fare that I have found. You have new adventures and it is hard to second guess the enemy. If you do, YOU ARE DEAD. That is how the real thing works and this is no substitue. The grading of every mission is more detailed.

I would give a 10 but I was curious of Kahuna and Boomer but no word was ever mentioned of what happened. The graphics is outstanding and the interaction with the surroundings is awesome. The story is believeable and rich. the added extra of havin some reknown voices is a nice touch, but they do seem to sound alittle strained as if readin from a script. The stoy line part has hours of game play not includin the online multiplayer. The hidden objectives has a well rounded natural feeling that compliments real life situations of having to think on your feet and never knowing what is goin to happen. Overall this game makes me wish I had joined the U.S Navy Seals.(I think that was what they were trying for)

The online play is great, but for the average Joe who is buying it for just that, you have to now unlock charachters. Wich sucks its not a total loss though, its not like the locked players are any better than the unlocked ones. All in all a good game. As soon as the server problems are fixed it will be a whole lot better. Oh but wait Christmas is right around the corner and we all remember last year, Christmas day through jan 15th boot central . So i guess we will see!!!

Ok Im sick and tired of you Blind S.O.B saying its Impossible to cheat.
Tell me this. How come on Numerous occasions A terrorist has started on the seals side or Vise versa? Tell me How comes people can Boost points? For about 2 and a half hours This guy was getting 50-100 points per match.
I have been killed By invisible players. But I guess its a glitch in a game like you people seem to think.

I have not played the mission part of the game but i have played the online part and it kicks ass. the graphics are very good for an online game and the gameplay is oustanding. the new levels are huge and the old ones aregreatley improved. Overall this game has it all for online expierience.if you cant get online i would recemend that you do and fast!

I dont know I sucked at the first SOCOM for a while and I thought it was killer. I dont know what other people were thinking. SOCOM 2, I thought wasnt as good as people made it out to be, but after the 3rd or 4th mission on single player, it gets to be really good. now I love this game and play online with people, which is greatly improved. I heard someone say that the SEALs carry a riffle, pistol and sub machine gun????? That is one of the dumbest things I have seen said about this game. Every fireteam in the military has one standard weapon, and a pistol, and a knife (and all the crap on your belt). I think zipper did enough research on this game, I like how you are joined by the SAS and Spetznaz, and you can unlock them on the online mode by playing the single player missions. Definatly the best game on PS2, online and offline.

i havn't played it yet but as far as i know it will be the best dam game ever.... over x-mas break i will be playing it 6 hours a day!! tht's right... 6 hours!!!!!!!!!!. if u see me on, u can eat my sniper bullet as it rips through ur skull. this game is supposed to have no hackers, lmmfao, dont make me laugh, of course it will have hackers, if u buy it because of no hackers, dont bother, but if u are that F'ing stinggy dont bother ever playing, the game was made to be a better version of socom, and Belive me it is.........
i have played socom1 before (a total of 70 hours) it was really fun offline, but online..... that is a diff matter all together.
it's online gaming was by far the best ps2 gaming setup i have EVER played, only 1 F ING HACKERS, THEY PISSED ME OFF VERY OFTEN, IF U WANA STOP THAT STUFF IN SOCOM2 (there will be some) THERE ARE SOME WEBSITES YOU CAN GO TO, TO GET BLOCKERS, IF U SEARCH LONG ENOUGH U WILL FIND SOME, JUST BE PAITENT....
If u wana play with me in socom2 over x-mas break just e-mail me and we can get some killing done.
if u encounter some problems in the game just try to ingnour them, if they keep happening tell the creaters that u found some bugs.

Other than a few cheaters, Team killers, Frequent Lags. This game has much to offer. I feel future versions will have less lags and glitches. Due to the number of players logged on at a given time the Rooms are hard to get into being that they're always packed. Ranking is definately a problem in this game you cannot stay off for more than a day or it'll drop your rank.
Skills are a must in this game, so i advise newcomers to play through the single player mode to get adjusted to the controls and the stages (even though the stages are not exactly as you play it on the single player, they are noticably similar). The idea of joining a CLAN is cool but they should rename it to UNIT since it is a military terminology used to identify group/groups rather than making it sound like you're joining a bunch of bed spread wearing haters. This game is very addicting and once you start you'll notice time has drastically flown by, literally from dusk till dawn. I've noticed a few cheaters but the invisibility is found to be a serious glitch as well as a terrorist spawning on the seals side. For those of you who purchased the network adapters separately, I urge you "DO NOT USE THE NETWORK SOFTWARE PROVIDED" you will get booted very frequently and PS2 will restart itself constantly. Configure your network settings by just using the "ONLINE" option on the game disk and you will notice lot less reboots and restarts. I have ran into a SOCOM Server Admin and supposedly they are working on a solution to rid of the cheaters and block their IP address permanently if this does happen then more fun in store for the straight skilled people.
