Well i like socom2..Because i loved socom1 but the cheaters screwed every thing up... like the Dnas and when sum1's dead btu it says there alive thats a glitch they aint doing it on purpose and people turn invisible sum times its not there fault...The maps are great i love fish hook and frost Fire is still the best map ever!!!!! abanded was a great map in socom1 but in socom2 its dark so it pretty much blows..well my lowest rank eva was 82 legit i made my to doublo digits legit unlike the rest of socom...and another thing if u want to try out for a clan Instant message me at NLR010 my clan is [Ds*] Diablo Snipers*
My name was >Diablo< but now i changed it to *diablo* beacuse rank is nothign so i retired >Diablo< and made my new 1....but my clan is ranked 7 on Gamebattles and 15 on socom2 online...socom2 clan ranking dont meen anything all it proves is u got a lot of kids who have no life except rank^....Ihope for a socom3 and i hope on socom3 they fix the glitches and the rank system and the clan ranking should be about wars not indivisual player ranking...

This game is way better than the first one. it has way better weapons,teammates,ect.If you like a good game this is the game for you,mycomments is they really put some work in this game and they have out done them selves this time I mean better graphics,differnt teammates,hey I love this game .Like I said if you like good teamwork,weapons,stealth/folige you should really buy this game.n both games/soccom1&2 you get headsets normanly other games dont have it/it is a really big parts of the games you can talk to your teammates and they actully listen.ive got to go but before i go let me tell you this is a really good game I think ill go play it right now.bye

I abosultley love this game i cant think of ne other game id rather play as hard as try i cannot get sick of it i love playing online except there a few minor problems one lag 9999 shots to kill people if its laggy and 2 gettin shot through a wall sucks other than that its freggin amazing i play it everyday and if u dont have it and u got a online adapter ur freggin insane you can shoot grenade launchers the guns are acttually real my buddys in the army and he uses an m16a2 m203 in real life in iraq the m4ai m203 is a sweet gun the shotguns are nice i love the hkksd and my all time favorite gun that the made so much better on this game THE ONEAND ONLY M14! but what also its really cool is the mines even tho when i lag's u can run right over them but another sweet feature is the thermal scopes on the sniper rifles i regulate body heat through bushes and long distance shots

Ok lets go over some of these reviews that are out there. You have all these people that say its a great game and that might be because they know how to play it. As for the others they say it sucks and the graphics are terrible, they are truly wrong about that. They are just looking for an excuse because they can't get past the first couple levels on Ensign for gods sakes.
If you really want a challenge start at the highest level you can and it will be great. There is no game that tops the graphics and if you know of one let me know and I'll check it out!
As for the game play, and little advice; you "have to take your time" I mean sometimes I take 30 mins to 45 mins just to do a mission and not be seen at all. YOu have to sneak around and use cover and concealment. And never get close to them unless your sneaking up on them to knock them out. Well hi me up if you wanna.

Other than a few cheaters, Team killers, Frequent Lags. This game has much to offer. I feel future versions will have less lags and glitches. Due to the number of players logged on at a given time the Rooms are hard to get into being that they're always packed. Ranking is definately a problem in this game you cannot stay off for more than a day or it'll drop your rank.
Skills are a must in this game, so i advise newcomers to play through the single player mode to get adjusted to the controls and the stages (even though the stages are not exactly as you play it on the single player, they are noticably similar). The idea of joining a CLAN is cool but they should rename it to UNIT since it is a military terminology used to identify group/groups rather than making it sound like you're joining a bunch of bed spread wearing haters. This game is very addicting and once you start you'll notice time has drastically flown by, literally from dusk till dawn. I've noticed a few cheaters but the invisibility is found to be a serious glitch as well as a terrorist spawning on the seals side. For those of you who purchased the network adapters separately, I urge you "DO NOT USE THE NETWORK SOFTWARE PROVIDED" you will get booted very frequently and PS2 will restart itself constantly. Configure your network settings by just using the "ONLINE" option on the game disk and you will notice lot less reboots and restarts. I have ran into a SOCOM Server Admin and supposedly they are working on a solution to rid of the cheaters and block their IP address permanently if this does happen then more fun in store for the straight skilled people. The graphics are not as good as i hoped. The fact that u can shoot people through the walls is cheep. The mines are a pain in the ass... u walk over them and boom u go flyin but don't die what good is that...?
The wepons are good(my fav. the auto shotgun) and game play is pritty good. In single player missions there are some glitchs but i don't mind (unlimited ammo).
Overall this game is a pritty good game... i will post my online name for u people. i would say to u people if u liked the first SOCOM go buy this one.

Socom 2 is the best game ever to be made ever(heh).It has pretty good graphics, great affects,and great online play. One of the great things about socom 2 is that the 1 player game is based almost entirly on stealth and being unsee. You can be seen but you would be a lot better off going through a level with a sniper and frags then playing run and shoot. The only bad thing is the online play is exactly that. most people would prefer to run out and shoot till they die. If you like the 1 player game and want to play online do a mission based level. In the mission based levels your pretty much doing 1 player only with other people.The bad thing is there are "lags",where ur game kind of freezes) glitches, and worst of all cheaters. If there weren't cheaters Then this game would be near perfect. (even though i ranked it 10 anyway) If you want a good shooter that doesnt get old then get socom 2!!!!

I was really excited about getting the game. All the hype behind it made me think the game would be great. Well If I could make it past the first half of the level without getting dizzy as hell and feeling like I was going to vomit then I think it would be fun. I took the first one back hoping to get another one that did not shake. I was hoping I just got a bad copy. Well The second copy does the same damn thing. When I try to aim at somebody the guy just starts slidding along the screen.The screen shakes the whole time except if you are caring a body. Now it is to late to take it back and get something else. All the damn place will let me do is exchange it for another one. Forget that. I have given up on this game. I tried to find a cheat that I could use incase this was part of the game. There is nothing out there that I could find. I would never recomend this game to anyone unless you want to get sick. It is stupid that I had to pay $50 for something that make me sick. I hope I am the only person that has ran into this problem. I hope you all are enjoying this game. But I will never purchase any socom game again.

Socom is a really good game except for the cheaters. Then, i heard about socom2. Peeps were saying they're NO cheaters in it.
So,i got it of course!It was cool cause it had all of socom maps plus twice as more. SO i stopped playin socom 1 cause it had all the maps in it.
Then, after that i saw a cheater that was invisible!
So they cheaters after all.Also, sometimes when u die it says that ur still alive once and a while.And gay people vote u off cause they think ur cheatin.And the rank thing is screwed so don't even worrie about it.
its so GAY!!! if u abort a mission or someone kicks u from a game ur rank gets dropped
And i was at rank 20,000 then i got kicked from a game and it dropped me 1,000!
that really sucked big time!
anyway if u ever see me online we could kick some F + U + C + K + I + N butt dude. My s/n's SNIPERCELL!!!

THIS GAME IS THE BEST PS2 GAME EVER (online) i think adding michal clarck duncan was a big bonus kuz everyone wanted the game kuz they new he was in it... anywayz online couldnt be better (i was gettin sick of cb in socom 1) DNAS is awsome sony is smart to put that $#< remove me > at ! out... socom is overall the best ps2 online game of all time and hopefully will remain the best of the best... aside from the bitches that do nothing but cheat to get there rank WAY up its a good game i enjoy the challenge of gettin a high score altough in online its freakin impossible to get over 5000 so w/e if you guys want a game go to [uK] in canada east 2 we rule and we got a second roster so come join us now!!!

SOCOM 2 is definitely better than the first SOCOM in many ways. First and foremost, there's more realism. I hated when you were shot in some weird place like the foot and you get killed instantly. This time, the game focuses on headshots to actually give the game a little sense. And also, the bullets are different. If you shot some guy in the arm with a silenced 9mm, it would take like nine shots. But if you use something like a .45 or a .50, it would take around three or four. Second, cheaters are gooooooooooooooooooooooone! HALL. LE. LU. JAH. Those stupid glitchers and GS/AR cheap cheaters were annoying. The glitch where you climb up the ladder, go down, do something so you can sink underground and shoot everyone was cheap. I heard it had something to do with some code that Sony changes every week or so that prevents cheaters. Also, online mode has more things to do. New maps, objectives for maps, two new modes, air strikes, skins (as in new characters for multiplayer, like Goldeneye and World is Not Enough for N64) that you unlock in single player for online, and such make online mode better than SOCOM 1. Even the graphics and sound seem better, and you can unlock songs in single player to listen to.
There's also more weapons. Shotguns (WHOOP-FRIGGITY-DE-FRIGGITY-DO!!), rocket launchers (YAY!), more assault rifles including bullpup rifles (YAY!), two new handguns, a new sniper rifle, a new submachine gun, and other nice goodies like proximity mines, a thermal scope, amongst other things.
All in all, I think Zipper did a great job.

i go 4 games for christmas and i havent even opened them yet because of SOCOM 2. best damn game play and yes i am so happy boomers dead and when you tell your troops to hold position they actually listen! gameplay in single player is great and online is the best yet!!! if you dont have it yet quit wasting your time reading this and go buy it you dope... GOGOGO! OH AND BTW THANKS SO MUCH FOR NOT CHATING FOR THOSE OF WHOM NO BETTER TODO ONLINE, CAUSE SOSCOM 1 LOST IT PERKS BECAUSE OF IT.

First off, the best improvement is your stealth capabilities. Having more foliage to hide in and having it actually WORK!! Number one improvement. The extra commands that u can give to your teammates like GET DOWN helps alot, plus when you say STEALTH TO so and so, they actually use stealth, not just a walk a little slow than run your ass off, than run a little slow. Their shooting seems to be better at times, since real SEALS don't know how to miss. The levels are very fun to roam around in, and are full of primary and secondary paths. The only bad thing i have to say about the game is the computer movement when he spots you, very choppy, not smooth. Also if anyone has ever played Splinter Cell, and has snuck around nicely and at quite a nice pace, I would like to see that quick and smoothness put into this game. I find the creeping to slow, and take to much time, I loved the speed at which Splinter Cell moved at while still being still stealthy. Other than those little things, I adore this game, and am still playing the first one, even though I am stuck on a mission in Lt.Jr. where I just cant pass on the fact that the computer has a crack shot and VERY RARELY misses. I still love these two games and hope they carry one with these and of course the GTA series.

Though I am not a buyer of the predecessor of SOCOM II, I find the game among the top 3 shooter games for PS2. Graphics are top-notch, and the world detail is highly detailed. The headset commands are slightly vague, and the aknowladgements from your teamates are not exactly the best quality. The entire gameplay itself is at it's fullest though, and the originality of this game is 9/10. I love playing this game at any time, once I got up from sleeping to play it. If that doesn't tell you that this is a fun game, nothing will. I am a little dissappointed, however, with the scale of pain in SOCOM. It seems I can be shot three times in the head with a double-barreled shotgun and lose only 1/2 of my life. But when an enemy smacks me in the face with a SR-25 SD, I die instantly. Overall, this game could face minimal repairs if it were to be restructured.

Socom 2 was a sick game,I think the makers did a killer job compared to socom1. the graphics looked upgraded and the sound quality was way better. Socom 2 seemed easier than socom1 that was cool because alot peeps can agree that it was impossible to beat socom1 past Lt. The Game is much cleaner and it runs much smoother while playing no more glitches Boys's i like the fact that i am spector and thank you lord that boomeris dead that stupid marine i can't recall the number of times that Kid messed my game up.. And all those punks complaning that the game sucks "Where"s the Health" you say! toughin up Ladies this Title is packed with explosive Game play Check it!!

In the fisrt socom there was a REALLY big problam with players taking advantage of the map glithes. This is the reason i sold the first socom. You would get on start playing and then get shot by some faggot hidding in the graphics. so gay.... BUT I hope that there r no map glitches in SOCOM2 since im gettin it 4 christmas. If there r i will get rid of it since i cannot tolerate people using glitches and being cheap and gay. Anyways other than numerous "glitchers" and a few cheaters SOCOM1 was badass. I REALLY hope that there will be cheat-free, mapglitch-free gameplay.O and I kno some of u r glitchers in socom1 so u can all suck my man$#< remove me > at !!

Ok I hate to be a Xbox fanboy here but if this is the PS2's BIG shooter I'm very very very disapointed. I bought it cause we wanted something new to play on my friends PS2. Isn't this game supposed to have great graphics and stuff? Where are they? I see none. The voice recognition is shoddy. The thing that pissed me off the most is (lets assume ensign diff) you can get shot like 30 times and not die but if one of the bad guys is close to you and hits you with his gun you die instantly...bam...you get to do the ENTIRE LEVEL OVER AGAIN!!! Who's friggin idea was that? That's a load of crap. If it weren't for that though the game would be fairly easy so I guess it had to resort to pissing you off.
The game did have some good parts I suppose so I gave it a 7...but from such a ballyhoo'd game I'd expect a 9 rating game. I'm so disapointed in Sony. They screwed up so bad this time around.

i havn't played it yet but as far as i know it will be the best dam game ever.... over x-mas break i will be playing it 6 hours a day!! tht's right... 6 hours!!!!!!!!!!. if u see me on, u can eat my sniper bullet as it rips through ur skull. this game is supposed to have no hackers, lmmfao, dont make me laugh, of course it will have hackers, if u buy it because of no hackers, dont bother, but if u are that F'ing stinggy dont bother ever playing, the game was made to be a better version of socom, and Belive me it is.........
i have played socom1 before (a total of 70 hours) it was really fun offline, but online..... that is a diff matter all together.
it's online gaming was by far the best ps2 gaming setup i have EVER played, only 1 F ING HACKERS, THEY PISSED ME OFF VERY OFTEN, IF U WANA STOP THAT STUFF IN SOCOM2 (there will be some) THERE ARE SOME WEBSITES YOU CAN GO TO, TO GET BLOCKERS, IF U SEARCH LONG ENOUGH U WILL FIND SOME, JUST BE PAITENT....
If u wana play with me in socom2 over x-mas break just e-mail me and we can get some killing done.
if u encounter some problems in the game just try to ingnour them, if they keep happening tell the creaters that u found some bugs.

This game is awesome. Ya there seems to be lag sometimes but oh well..That would be my only complaint. Other than that, this game is so much better than the first one. The guns are great, harder to kill cuz of tha health bar but o well, it takes skill. Harder to kill people means u gotta have better aim so if u cant kill ppl then get some accuracy goin and ull be fine. The new maps i love them, the scoring system sorta sux how ppl who arent really an MVP can get mvp so i think that is BS but o well, tha rankin system is based on ur score not ur stats basically so thats both good and bad in ways. I love this game more than the first one, and i loved that one 2!!I got people playing this game who havent yet, thats how tight it is, and yes..very addicting!!Cant wait for asocom 3!!but for now imma enjoy this game as much as i can.
