SOCOM 2 is addictive! I finished the entire(ensign)level in a day...and movin on to higher ranks! Thank goodness, Boomer is gone! NO more stupid SEAL team. Here, the players follow direct orders better. What ever happened to Kahuna? Was he demoted or somethin???? The voice of Specter sounds really young though. Sometimes i can hear one of the players screaming like a sissy. The voices in Socom 1 is alot better...i think. The graphics are real cool!!!! Every level is a knockout! Kick some terrorist butt!!! I like the videos too! Those who look for cheats on this game are real dumbnuts!!!!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to SOCOM 3. Is there like away you can shoot on the lights and use my night vision? That's the only thing i noticed here....I shoot on the lights and nothing happens. I don't know if you will agree with me on this one but it's just a suggestion. I use to play Syphon Filter 3 before and there's a realistic effect when you get to shoot on the lights and attack enemies with stealth....Excellent work, you guys!!!

The primary reason that I decided to buy Socom 2 was because of the promise that there would be no cheaters online. It started out that way, but it didn't last for long. Now every kind of cheater is back. The glitchers, the skywalkers, the unkillables, and even the ghosts. So now not only does this game contain all the new crap that they added in, it also has piled on the old crap from the first game. So now when playing online I don't only have to deal with the new recoil, newbies using missile launchers to get easy kills, and the screwed up ranking system, I now have to watch out for the many cheaters who have snuck their way into the Socom 2 world. So I guess some things will never change. So if you are playing online and you start to suspect that someone might be cheating, it is safe to say that they are. Also I would like to say that this game seems awful laggy to me. Every time the amount of people online reaches 30,000, the game lags and has a poor connection to games. However, it could just be my game. Just thought I would mention it just in case.

This game is awesome except for a couple of problems online. Serious lag is one as well as the fact that they made it noob friendly. I can sneak up behind someone shoot them then they can still turn around and shoot me as opposed to SOCOM I where they would die. Other then that this is the best multi player game behind Goldeneye of course. Its worth buying for both online play as well as offline. You cant really lose and if your complaining about the extra health that much it just means you suck.

This is the best game ever!!! If u thought medal of honour was good, just try this game!!! It has wicke guns and the controls are easy to remember.Compared to the guys in socom 1, thes soldiers are brain surgeons!! Great improvement!!! If u like 1st person shooters, u will LOVE this game(unless ur a pathetic loser that gives up once u die once).

I don't care what you newbs say. Socom II rocks. I have had virtually NO lag playing it, and I am on a cable connection on a LAN and running 3 servers. Socom II has more, better weapons, the AKS-74 is less powerfull..What can I say? It takes SKILL to play this game. So, if you are complaining about the hand grenades shaking the screen, or the recoil, You are just a newb who doesn't know how to play! I would like to see you program a better game!!

First off, the best improvement is your stealth capabilities. Having more foliage to hide in and having it actually WORK!! Number one improvement. The extra commands that u can give to your teammates like GET DOWN helps alot, plus when you say STEALTH TO so and so, they actually use stealth, not just a walk a little slow than run your ass off, than run a little slow. Their shooting seems to be better at times, since real SEALS don't know how to miss. The levels are very fun to roam around in, and are full of primary and secondary paths. The only bad thing i have to say about the game is the computer movement when he spots you, very choppy, not smooth. Also if anyone has ever played Splinter Cell, and has snuck around nicely and at quite a nice pace, I would like to see that quick and smoothness put into this game. I find the creeping to slow, and take to much time, I loved the speed at which Splinter Cell moved at while still being still stealthy. Other than those little things, I adore this game, and am still playing the first one, even though I am stuck on a mission in Lt.Jr. where I just cant pass on the fact that the computer has a crack shot and VERY RARELY misses. I still love these two games and hope they carry one with these and of course the GTA series.

Ok lets go over some of these reviews that are out there. You have all these people that say its a great game and that might be because they know how to play it. As for the others they say it sucks and the graphics are terrible, they are truly wrong about that. They are just looking for an excuse because they can't get past the first couple levels on Ensign for gods sakes.
If you really want a challenge start at the highest level you can and it will be great. There is no game that tops the graphics and if you know of one let me know and I'll check it out!
As for the game play, and little advice; you "have to take your time" I mean sometimes I take 30 mins to 45 mins just to do a mission and not be seen at all. YOu have to sneak around and use cover and concealment. And never get close to them unless your sneaking up on them to knock them out. Well hi me up if you wanna.

This game is the best first person shooting game I have ever played!!!! The new online maps are fantastic...as are the new mission types! OK so I haven't really played the one player game that much yet... but who cares! There are only two problems I see with this game....at least the online version. There seems to be a lot more lag then there was in the first one...and it takes too many shots to kill the opposition. Other then that, the new weapons kick butt...and the gameplay and point system are a lot better. All in All this game rocks!!!!!

This game is the best online game out there. The graphics online are alot better than socom1 or any other online game i have played. They have new maps and some old socom1 online maps.
There are 21 maps in all. The best part is that u can talk in the lobby in a game. And u can keep track of freinds instead of haveing to find where they are. So i rate thos game from 1-10 a 100. If u dont have it GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND BUY IT!!

This game is tight yo! i jus bought this game a couple of dayz ago and the first time i played it i was like, wow, this game is phat! If u are looking for a new video game, this is the one 2 get because it is soooooooooo good and if u don't agree wit me, u are dumb because, this is and always will be the best shooting game eva until, who knows, maybe a SOCOM 3 will come out. ok, socom 2 is O.K.. theres is alot of new stuff such as RPG's and M203 gernade launcher that really make the game more newby friendly, it takes almost no skill to kill anyone with thoses damn things. well i really do not like the newly added shellshock thing when it shakes ur screen when u are close to a nade but other than that ur a freakn awsome game. Theres alot of people that dont like the game and thats only because they probley FOCKEN SUCK AT IT, so of course there gonna put the game down, am and also a part time cheaters, i hope the codes will be broken soon and they will be broken theres notihn socom can do to stop it, because we do not pay for the severs like we do for xbox live, DNAS canot stop anything all it is , is socom sever provider, you fockn newby lookk in ur socom booklet and it clearly says severs provided by DNAS, it is not a hack stopers in anyway. other than that socom 2 kick ass, andi hope i kill all yall soon when the codes come out and so i can cheat over all ur crying asses and hear you cry because you cant afford a codebeaker, and another thing it takes more skill to cheat than it does to play normal, it takes hackers the even break socoms codes with is a hell of alot harder than it sounds, soo all i cant say is haha ur a newb. =)

Great game. A few things that could be improved like stealth capabilities ,more missions, realler scenarios, and more challenging missions. I beat the game on ensign and lieutenant in 6 hours, thats kind of sad. The makers of Socom could of made it more challenging like the first one, in 2 you can barely even die. Socom 2 is a good game but has room for improvement and should be re-made by next year.

i go 4 games for christmas and i havent even opened them yet because of SOCOM 2. best damn game play and yes i am so happy boomers dead and when you tell your troops to hold position they actually listen! gameplay in single player is great and online is the best yet!!! if you dont have it yet quit wasting your time reading this and go buy it you dope... GOGOGO! OH AND BTW THANKS SO MUCH FOR NOT CHATING FOR THOSE OF WHOM NO BETTER TODO ONLINE, CAUSE SOSCOM 1 LOST IT PERKS BECAUSE OF IT.

In the fisrt socom there was a REALLY big problam with players taking advantage of the map glithes. This is the reason i sold the first socom. You would get on start playing and then get shot by some faggot hidding in the graphics. so gay.... BUT I hope that there r no map glitches in SOCOM2 since im gettin it 4 christmas. If there r i will get rid of it since i cannot tolerate people using glitches and being cheap and gay. Anyways other than numerous "glitchers" and a few cheaters SOCOM1 was badass. I REALLY hope that there will be cheat-free, mapglitch-free gameplay.O and I kno some of u r glitchers in socom1 so u can all suck my man$#< remove me > at !!

Though I am not a buyer of the predecessor of SOCOM II, I find the game among the top 3 shooter games for PS2. Graphics are top-notch, and the world detail is highly detailed. The headset commands are slightly vague, and the aknowladgements from your teamates are not exactly the best quality. The entire gameplay itself is at it's fullest though, and the originality of this game is 9/10. I love playing this game at any time, once I got up from sleeping to play it. If that doesn't tell you that this is a fun game, nothing will. I am a little dissappointed, however, with the scale of pain in SOCOM. It seems I can be shot three times in the head with a double-barreled shotgun and lose only 1/2 of my life. But when an enemy smacks me in the face with a SR-25 SD, I die instantly. Overall, this game could face minimal repairs if it were to be restructured.
