RIP OFF |
| Martin Hooper from Bristol, ENGLAND says (17/Dec/2003): |
Well it looks like they spent all their time on the PC version and then dropped the resolution until it ran smoothly on PS2, like playing anti aliased GIFs. The game is just FAR too short and not as involving as Frontline. Some of the jungle levels were just irritating. Finished in 3 evenings of play. Did anyone manage to rescue the brother?
To summarise-
Graphics...worse than previous game.
Controls...still too notchy, gun is constantly aiming too high as default.
Sound...good, but if I want good sound i'll buy a CD.
RENT IT, DO NOT BUY IT!!

sweet game, ausome graphics, loved multiplayer |
| Josh man from Waukee,IA,USA says (26/Dec/2003): |
I can't say enough about this game. It's a lot better than Fronline I'll tell you that. It's cool the way they set up the whole storey line, and the sound is great too.All the guys who rated it from 5-10, you guys know what your talking about. My faverite level is Midnight Raid, becuase my grandpa fought at Guadalcanel.I agree with Dave from Winnipeg, they left out Iwo Jima one of the biggest battles in WWII.Still a great game though.I think the makers of the game deserve every ounce of credit because they made a great game.Make another one guys!

pretty good but whats with the end |
| A gamer from dogtown says (4/Jan/2004): |
I am a young person and i was somewhat dissatisfied with the game because at the end because only 9 levels! But it was a good game except the jungle level was very irritationg because there were too many places to go and it was too dark. also personally the game play was to short cause in just 8 hours all together I had completed the game. The graphics were pretty good but the game could have used more guns on the levels. I conclude that this game had bad plot because there were too many things to worry about. And did anyone save the brother

tooooooo short |
| lee from london england says (1/Jan/2004): |
the graffics are acceptable, the playability is very good, barring the fact that sometimes you miss your enemy even when your cross hair is clearly bang on target, the sound is top notch,i love the multi player..nice touch, but completing the game in 1 day is a joke and i aint happy..i was expecting a massive adventure and was very disapointed when i completed it.also the levels are tiny, after playing halo this game seems as big as 1 halo level!and im getting really fed up with the fact that i cant obtain a medal..sort it out e.a!

Dreamworks' Fettish with historical innacuracy continues... |
| Grey from Prescott, AZ says (13/Dec/2003): |
Whatever real feeling the previous games gave you (as far as 1940's warfare is concerned) is out to lunch for this game. The missions just suck, and the pearl harbor mission doesn't make much sense. Only what... 27 planes were actually shot down in the battle? I think I shot down 60 the first time through. If it were that easy, the pacific theatre wouldn't have required the efforts of half the US fleet. And maybe I'm just baised... but I took a level of satisfaction in blasting Nazi's to hell. But... (sigh) who really cares?

Good Game But what the heck is up with the Ending? |
| Chris Evans from North Carolina USA says (13/Feb/2004): |
This Game Was good so where the graphics and the wepons,But what is up with the ending? The commander?
He just runs off with your brother like thier going on a honnymoon or something. And also the game is 9 frickin
levels long! But any way I like the way how you can play the real game in 2 player mode. Its just in 2 player is only
8 levels long .8 LEVELS! 8 LEVELS LONG! Alright heres how i I see it.Good graphics, good guns, good levels, not enough level ,not a good ending and a gay Commander who cuts your partners throght!

Some good, some bad |
| A gamer from Lubbock, TX, USA says (23/Dec/2003): |
Overall I liked MOH Rising Sun, the only thing that irritates me is that I like to sneak up on enemies and "snipe" them before they see me, but if I have a squad they go running in guns blazing and alert the enemy. Half the time they get in the way of my shot, too. I still haven't completed the game cause the wife won't let me play for more than a few minutes at a time. I would much rather prefer to have the option of having "helpers" or not. Really I just end up yelling at the TV for them to get the he** out of my way.

This is the shortest game I've ever played!!! |
| Cristo from Madrid,Spain says (31/Dec/2003): |
Dont buy this game is too short and in less than one day u can complete it. I think is the worst MoH game from the collection of MoH's. It has some A.I. failures when you go in some campaigns with allies and the enemies are too easy. But the worst thing about this game is that is too short!!!. The graphics are not bad but some places like the jungle or Singapur are very boring. Finally the weapons are less than other MoH games.
Graphics: 7
Difficulty: 3
Duration: 0
A.I.: 2
Sound: 8 (I like the music)

Not a Very Good Game. |
| Jeff M from Texarkana,AR says (31/Dec/2003): |
I must agree with the lot of you. It is'nt a very long or challenging or a very long game. I belive that EA spent the most time on its online abilities more than game play. Which is sad because they have a very good game series on there hands.
Maybe they should branch out in to other wars. And this time give us a few more levels and maybe some new cheats. Not that you need them in this game. I am not sure what else to say but i do regret buying this game and not renting it first. What a waist of $50.

One of the Greatest game I ever played |
| Chad from Gig Harbor, Washington US of A says (2/Dec/2003): |
The opening sceen was pefect, even better that the D day opening in the first one. Foe those of you that have 5.1 surround sound you know what I'm talking about when I say the sound is great. For those that don't... Get it! It's the only why to play this game. Multi-player far better than any game made. Great online mode also. The only reason I didn't give this game a ten is because of the lack of levels. The ones that are in the game long and great, but it would of been nicer if there were more.

Nice, but to short - How do you save the brother? |
| A gamer from Rochester, NY says (2/Jan/2004): |
I thought the script was pretty good, but definitely not long enough. I know there could be so much more to the story line. I don't mind using the PS2 controller, although it did take a little time to get used to its touchiness. Once you get used to the set up it becomes much easier to pick off the enemy. What happens if I collect all of the bonus documents or what have you on each level? Is this part of receiving a medal? Is there a way to save the brother or will there be a Rising Sun Part 2?
|
this game is not very realistic |
| jay from brampton,Ont,Canada says (29/Dec/2003): |
I for one kind of enjoyed the game BUT I also thought the game was to short and not very realistic in some parts. Like having the enemy in your crosshairs of your sniper rifle shooting him 8 times until he finally dies that I thought was B.S.It seems to as if the guys at E.A games should really think before they put games on the market that are to easy. My four year old brother could beat this game so what does tha tell you guys at E.A
Oh and I forgot one thing I want my money back.
|
WO!! whats up with that!!!!!!!!! |
| michael from Maryland,USA says (6/Feb/2004): |
This game is the shortest game ever played!!!!!And its to easy at least Socom2 is not short and easy.Lets hope the next MOH is longer and harder. The thing i like about this game is the multiplayer i think its cool.but no match for Socom.Bromlys cool to but socom is the best. im runing out of things to say.what rules says you have to write 100 words.that rule sucks!im geting bored. i hope this is almost 100 words!Yes i writed 1oo words.all man no its not.isit now no.get socom 2. yes

4 hours later and i'm DONE??? |
| A gamer from Seoul Korea says (7/Dec/2003): |
I have been waiting for a year for this game to hit the market only to find that after a few hours of playing the wait is over. I sink the ship he tells me its time to find my brother but the game is done. It just ends, the credit roll and you are left checking the internet to find out if its just you or is everyone finding out that this game sucks? for 50.00 i would expect a little more then a few hours of gaming. Rent this game and save your 50.00 for another christmas gift.
|
I would suggest renting it. |
| MOH Fan from Kansas, USA says (24/Nov/2003): |
I just rented Rising Sun and loved it. I was thinking about buying it to add to my collection, but after the first night of playing it, it was over. I could not believe how short it was. I mean there was no climax, warning, or point to the game. It only took me about 8 hours total to play it from start to finish. If I would have boughten it then I would have been pissed. Luckily I only rented it, but I have another 3 days with it and am over half way through it again.
|
Good not great |
| A gamer from Plano, Texas says (19/Nov/2003): |
It was okay. You feel like you are being herded along. The Supercarrier was the best. The downtown scene was the hardest - very easy to get lost. I didnt like how the AI was flat. Soldiers would stab the side of the ship with the bayonet even though you are shooting them. I did like the ability to destroy aircraft. Another problem was there were only 8 scenarios. The best feature overall was the ability to save the game while in the middle of a campaign.

Heaps Good |
| Sid from Australia says (21/Jul/2003): |
this game rocks. the gameplay is great. the ability to be able to shoot down planes is fasinating. theres one problem with this game. when an emeny is hiding with extra camoflaugue on the camoflouge is actually rainbow colours if you look closely enough. the game catches the horror of real war with the stage of peral harbour. i love that level. they need to have free roaming mode were you can resspawn your self and with no objectives. overall its a great game
|
On the right track! |
| Bigshow from Fresno ca says (16/Nov/2003): |
The people at MOH have finnaly went back to the roots of the game and now have made the game once agian for the player. Overall the game is great. Good play action, great grapics, etc. Still looking for more weapons though, and seamed to be limmited through out the game. But after the MOH team dropped the ball on multiplayer on Front line they have now fully redemmed themselfs multiplayer on this game is outstanding!!!
Keep up the good work MOH
