A treat for any DBZ fan |

This is definately a different and unique DBZ game! Unlike Budokai 1 which gives you a synopsis of the Dragonball Z series, Budokai 2 puts the player right into the storyline in an alternate world settings while staying close to the original story. Adding Cell and Frieza into the Majin/Super/Kid Buu story is also a nice touch (Majin Cell and Majin Frieza, can you imagine?). You have some of the old baddies back like Raditz, Andriod 17, Racoom, etc. with the same playability as in Budokai 1, though it would have been interesting if you could play other characters such as the remaining members of the Ginyu Force, Cooler, or Andriods 13, 14 and 15 (now that's dreamin'!).
All and All, Dragonball Z: Budokai 2 is a sheer delight for any DBZ fan and you'll find it hard to put down the controller once you get your mits on it. My advice, start playing at the beginning of the weekend...you'll need it.

This has interesting multi-combo attacks and new techniques and transformations (YOU CAN EVEN DO FUSION IN BATTLE). I would give it's story mode a huge success because it shows things that weren't even thought of being put into the DBZ saga really. The dragon world (as it is now called) is one wacky adventure and you just don't know what you can find around every corner. Then yes there's just that part when BUU appears. The tournament modes also have it going good there's just one little difference. You have to unlock the tournament modes by getting characters. I can also agree that the burst mode's new effect gives it a huge outstanding in all of the rankings of dbz dbgt db games I've seen. I personally had to enjoy the SFX as well as graphics of the game but in a long run dragon world was more of a board game rpg to me. Still an interesting game so as of an overall it scores a 7 on my ratings.

you gotta love this game pik up and play thinking its a wierd fighting game with beams, kamehameha wat this is crap try a few punches energy you use a spirit bomb which looks like the biggest thing ever after you talk while flying in the air in this movie you just triggered and blow your opponet across the pacific and chase after them and find them devastated. Your hooked even if u hate Dragonball Z (i will hunt u down unless you luv this game dbz haters)and when u do fusion with gotenks and turn him super sayain 3 luvers will think the game has totally captured the series and made it better thinking its the best fighting game ever other will donfusion super sayain 3 gotenks and think its way ahead on the other beat em ups and thinks its the best this game cannot get better except 4 dragon world it shud b story mode all sagas and wen u complete it play any level any character.

I think budikai2 is cool. I agree that Cell and freiza keep coming back alive is anoying man.they should still stick to the show like babbidi didnt brieng them back to life he doesnt even no the guys. I still cant get some of the following characters like Androids 17 and 18, Dabura, Trunks, Videl, Majin Buu, Super buu, Kid buu , teen Gohan. that sucks . what about babbidis space ship I cant get that ether If any one nows how contact me Sk8onFIRE048287 hotmail < remove me > at please I beg of u. well any ways i have been heiring about ss4 . I have gon up to ss3 but 4 that must look kick ass. Chris one of my classmate if youre reading this maybe you can help me on the game. I have gon to dragon world like 100 times and still no new players that sucks

The look of this game is absolutly amaizing. The voice-overs are impecable and I really enjoy how fast the game is. There are things however that need to be improved on. For one, the computer is a bit cheap. It knows when you are going to pull off some moves. If you jump back it will do a blast atack before you actually start to jump back or when you dash in and attack the computer attacks first. This doesn't happen always but it does happen most of the time. It is difficult to be as quick as the computer. Often when moves or movement is supposed to be happening it doesn't. For example: When one dashes and stops just before the opponent there is a delay before you are able to attack again. Samething happens when punching and then wanting to jump back. These delays are not fun and shouldn't be happening. I hope these "glitches" are fixed in the next game.

the graphics r amazing. i never played the first budokai, but i really enjoy this game. havent finished it yet, but im working on that. the story is different from the series as uv all noticed, but i like it. its origianl, and japanese stories often variate from their originals. take the dbz movies as an example. the game plays similar 2 a board game, which rarely works, but with the fighting parts in the game, this is a minor complaint. the controls r easy 2 get used 2. if any1 played "final bout" for the playstation, ull remember how difficult the combos were 2 get used 2. and most combos work the same ways on the pad, but variate 4 each character in the game. the normal rules of dbz alter 4 this, but again, this is a normal variation from the origianls in true japanese style. overall, the game rules, and i cud sit and play it 4 literally hours on end.

Atari just said that There is going to be a boudokai 3 that goes into Dragonball GT from DBZ to gt amazing its coming out either later this year or somewhere in 2005 theres cell frieza way better graphics bebi etc very fun it sounds like stationplay unless your a game hater you should put this on I mean it boudokai 3 the ultimate boudokai game it all started with boudokai 1

i like all of the fun fighting stuff, but it is wayyyy to unrealistic. i mean cum on, bobudi summoning frieza and cell to fight geez! then majin buu absorbing them that is really stupid and the saibamen are in every level sheeesh have the makers ever watched the show ever. but the fighting part is really awesome (but they should have a way to fly instead of being knocked into the air... once again unrealistic) i hope they make more improvements in the next dragonball Z game. anyone who watches the show could make it more realistic than this. i believe that it would be worth it if it were more realistic. i could create a more realistic game then this (the graphics could be a little more better. overall fighting : 9/10 overall graphics : 7/10 cost : 3/10 reality : 0/10 u shouldnt buy this game unless u get it for a god bargain

yea...i agree with everyone that this was a kick ass game...the graphics( in my opinion) were awsome...the practice mode, babadi's spaceship, world tournament, and dueling...they were great! even the characters were great! I love gotenks and gocule! they were so freakin awsome ( all though no one can beat me when it comes to piccolo hehe). the only thing that was an EXTREMELY DISAPOINTING aspect of the game was the dragon mode. IT sucked!!!!! this game could have been ALOT better if it was in the 1st dbz budokai. I just didnt feel like it gave a personal connection with the real show. and the appearance of freiza and cell continously was annoying to me. but overall. it was a good game..i give it an 8 out of 10. i hope u all enjoy this game as much as i do. o yea...DBZ IS THE BEST SHOW ANIME EVER CREATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this game(Dragon BallZ Budokai: 2) could have been a bit better than it really was. First off, if you play as Cell, when you transform into Perfect Form and do the Kamehameha Wave, the voice of Cell sounds the same as when he's in 1st and 2nd form. Another point is the fusion Kabitoshin. I mean all it is is Supreme Kai's techniques in a different body. I don't believe i wasted my time getting the dragonballs 4 that. Lastly, they could have(or at least i think) put a little more time into the fusion and potara techniques. 4 example, as hercule, when u use the potara, he hits his opponent with as much force as supreme kai to knock him down. We ALL know Hercule is not as strong, nor even close to the power level of the supreme kai. Otherwise th game was REALLY good(or at least in my opinion.)

This game is cool. the story is not the same it is on tv, but this game rocks. And my tip for you is....
When you are playing the story mode "Dragon World" when you get to Namek beat Vegeta with Goku, and you have unlocked Vegeta.
And also when you play the story mode, when you have up to 3,600 victorys you will unlock kid buu. To unlock Super Saiyan 3 for Goku.. Just beat the fat Majin Buu in the story mode with Goku and you will unlock Super Saiyan goku. To fuse as vegito!-- when you are play the story mode, and you get to the Kai the second time in the story mode, he will give you the move you need to fuse Goku and Vegeta together as one. ALso when playing as Vegito in other game modes, to become vegito with Goku press. square square triangle triangle and circle and Goku will fuse with Vegeta.

I liked the first Budakai game, but there were a lot of things wrong with it. Say you were both in the air, and you deliver the final blow on the opponent. He'll fall over, but he'll still be in the air! In Budakai 2, they fixed this, and other errors that I've noticed. Plus the characters look better than they did in the last one.
I thought the board game concept was a good idea, but I would've done it much differently. The thing I don't like, as minor as it may sound, is that in the board game, Goku is in full 3D, and everyone else is some dopy looking 2D game piece! And though it's a lot more polished, there's still room for improvement.
In conclusion? DBZ Budakai 2 is a good game. It's no Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance or Soul Calliber, but it's good enough to get an 8 out of 10.

Dis game is da best eva, everythang is sweet i love da fusions, SSJ3 Goku and Gotenks, da better lookin moves,and when u go SSJ2 or 3 or u r super powered up there is lightning in da arua or around u, and Majin Vegeta. And its sweet how if someone is doin a super move on u u can rotate the analog stick and if u win da damaged is reduced. Dis game is by far way better than da first one in every way. SSJ3 Goku and Vegetto r my favorite charicters they kicks ass. I cant wait for Dragonball GT Budokai to come out SSJ4, the evil dragons, and Baby dat game is really gonna kickass well see ya until da next Budokai game gotta run. P.S. try da Father Son Ka-ME-Ha-ME-Ha that teen gohan uses its off da hook and Vegetas Big Bang. So buy dat game and check out all da sweet an improved moves so see ya lata.

I really enjoyed this game, the graphics, the fights, almost everything.I would say it's 10 times better than the first one. My only problem is that Dragon World is kind of borring cause you have to face cell and frieza so many times.Instead of having to fight the same guys all over we should have been able to fight all the mean guys like in the original series. This would have made a lot better.Also where are all the dragon balls? Are they hidden somewhere? I still have trouble unlocking all the characters. I finished the story mode so many times but I can't get them. I'm getting a little bit tired of trying it all the time.who should be used to unlock Videl and Super Buu? I'm really have hard time with these two characters. I hope somebody will give me a hand.Holla at me at oaj08< remove me > at yahoo.fr

dbzb2 was the best game ever if u r a dbz fan u should get it but there is some improvements needed the game should be a bit harder thats all that needs improving the good things are the graphichs they make u feel like u r there the controls are very easy and the sound is ok becauce some caricters dont sound the real people but at least its in englesh the gameplay is the best because u can fuse turn ssj 3 u even get to play up to the kid bu saga now thats class and u move around the grid and u can serch for money and there are loads of caricters to un lock.dbgtb is coming out some time and i cant wait i also have a cheat for u witch will help when u select capsels u should hold down l2 as u select it (sorry this is a cheat for ps2)i hope this has helped u to choose to buy the game.

the game starts out like a board game i was confused at first but then i started to like it i think it is cool because you get to get dragonballs easyer then the first one dragonball game and also cell and frieza come back and under contral by babaty i dont know were that came from but it was tight to see that M sign on there heads and you need to go back to get more characters in the game witch was alright with me because i like the game but you should rent it first because some people hate the game like my brother because he,s an xbox fan and its so cool because when you are practicing picalo talks to you and tells you alot about blocking and when you go to cpm vrs plyr1 if your goku and turn into ss3 when your power is down all you need to do is press select that is so coool.

I have been playing this game for a month and I have oready completed it.I liked the game it is defanantly better than the first game.Here is a cheat go to the edit skills and go to the shop,then hold l2 and enter the shop,Bulma will talk but ignore her and don't buy anything keep hold of l2 and leave the shop,keep doing this and it will unlock everything and it should make your percentage bar go up.Anyway if you are having problems you should keep trying and eventually crack it and complete the game.It really is worth it there are alot of good moves like fusion.Plus if you ativate the fusion skill with Yamcha or Tien you will see 2 men dance and become Tiencha.Oh well I hope I hellped u f#**#ers.Just remember to have fun and don't get frustrated it is just a game after all.

OK OK its an awesome Dbz game for multiplayer but what the heck is with the story mode, God it crap to think that you have to complete story mode everytime to get a dragonball,MAN i tell ya its a pain (but if you want to avoide that just press the L&R buttons at the same time when leaving Bulmas shop)but that abit dodgy but if ya want to get every capsule fast its the way to go.
FUSIONS=interesting and very funny, you gotta see Gokule (Goku fused with Hercule.The finishing moves in this DBZ are outstanding totally awesome with the graphics provided, they really have a umph! to them like kid buu's warp and Vegeta's Big Bang Attack.Alot of the hand to hand combat is similar to No1 but in some charactors there are much longer combos.Overall its a treat to any DBZ fan.
