i read many many reviews about espn basketball and from what i read i thought this game was "it"!! but, it wasn't. the graphics were great but the gameplay was horrible !! other players on your team don't do anything , they just stand around and you can barely make them do anyhthing cuz there are only 4or5 plays u can call. the post up game was the worst i have ever seen in a basketball game. there are absolutely no moves you can pull off while your backing down an opponent. and the shot animations got repetitive cuz there are really only 3 types of jumpshots in the game, the hookshot,jumpshot, and fade away. the dunks are too arcade style, and are limited. the only thing i liked about the gameplay was the controlled passing, i loved how i could throw a behind the back pass or even fake it sometimes, that was great. overall this game kept me entertained for a couple days , but after that i pretty much seen everything there was to see in the game.

Basketball videogames have been less than average for 2004. ESPN NBA Basketball seems to be the only "decent" basketball videogame this year. There are alot of things that I dislike about this game. First of all there is no way to control your zoom for the camera vision. If someone know how, please email me. Second of all the crossover is to complicated. I like making a simple crossover without extra dribbling or getting called for charging. Even though the gameplay is better than that of EA Sports and 989 Studios basketball for 2004. The offensive playcalls are very limited. Overall THIS IS THE BEST BASKETBALL VIDEOGAME FOR 2004! LIVE 04'took a dramatic step backwards and NBA STARTING FIVE and NBA SHOOTOUT are no match in the basketball videogame industry.

I have been an EA sports fan all my life. I have finally ventured over to the ESPN side for one game. Since EA doesn't find it important enough to improve their NBA Live series, I took a chance with ESPN Basketball. This game is excellent. The graphics are very good (and I picky about graphics) the gameplay is nice too. But the reason I give it a 9 is because of 24/7 mode. This is like another game all together. I won't write about what all of this is because you can read about it from the game's web-site. But if you are looking to buy a basketball game this year, you will not be disapointed with ESPN basketball. There is just so much to do in this game.

first things first. i'm a huge fan of sports games!! this game is good, but not great. i bought the game after reading some overrated reviews. it's the gameplay that bothers me more than anything else. i find it too easy. yeah, i know you can adjust the gameplay sliders(and i'm messing around with that)but it's really a waste of time. i want a true simulation game that i can play. i have yet to find it!! the only one that comes close, actually really close, is the madden series. my advice, wait until next year, maybe they'll improve.

this game stanks i mean when i want to cross over i meam i want a crossover.nba live is better the gameplay and there not just sqaure people.and the pick and roll please more like the fag in roll.i try it no pick or roll.i had it for 5 min i took it back.also i think you should make a street hoop vol2 wit nba live gameplay thats all i gots to say have it my way. also my name is jake dont forget.

This game is great! The graphics were perfect and the players looked just like they do in real life. The music is great too! It is way more realistic than NBA Live 2004. But most importantly they made Iverson look perfect. NBA Live makes Iverson look like he has double black eyes. If you are a balla you got to get this! Fo shizzle! Mmm...kay!

I have suddenly become a huge fan of ESPN games. I used to play only EA Sports games but when i bought ESPN Football. I suddenly became a huge fan. The detailis amazing and i love how you can give the players tattoos i got the same tattoo as one on the game. I think the graphics are great and can't wait for another game to come out!

i think espn basketball is a good game. its worth buying it. but the only thing thats missing is michael jordan. yes i know he retired but come on at least put him like in the 90s. they finally have kareem but no jordan. david is retired but he still comes out. but overall good game.

why did they even make live this year. espn is the best b ball game this year, if you paid for live 50$ gone. go back and ask 4 espn today start the new year right,not wrong by playing dead (live). i mean love ea but when a game is like this one then u have 2 switch
