This game is awesome! |
| David Jasinski from Williamsville, NY, USA says (4/Apr/2006): |
I love this game. My favorite part is getting Thunder plates by doing Lightning Challenges. I think that Jeff Gordon is the second most awesomest driver ever, if only he was a redneck, then he would be my favoritist. Overall, this game is pretty sweet. My favorite track is Tiburon, where you can go over 200 MPH! In my opinion, this game's graphics are pretty sweet. The fun factor is great, you can just play it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over without even gettin' bored. By the way, this game would be perfect if Derrike Cope was in this game, because he is my favorite driver in the history of Nascar. Even though he has only won 2 Winston Cup races in his whole career, he is still pretty sweet. Another one of my favorite features is the Speed Zone. The fantasy tracks are, admittidly pretty cool. I also like this game because of its attention to detail. In career mode, when you are a rookie, you even have rookie stripes on the back of your car! In conclusion, this game is pretty sweet, even though Derrike Cope is not in it. (I LOVE DERRIKE COPE!!!!!!!)

good game but I liked papyrus's nascar game better... |
| Extreme Racer06 from Glendale, California says (8/Nov/2004): |
i like ea sports and all and there nascar games. there really fun. but what i dont like about them are that the cars flip to easy and the flips look really fake and when you goin about 200 mph at talladega or somethin. you dont flip like on Nascar Racing Season 2003. the best time i had playing the game was when i was in career mode and i won 4 straight wins on my rookie season. also they didnt put dave blaney or todd bodine in the game i really wanted to race those guys but i guess not. oh ya tony raines was supposed to be in the game but got taken out for some reason. i like the new game nascar 2005 cause in season mode you can change drivers during the season to make the chase for the cup close in points. but anyway good game ea but work on your wrecks cause they look fake...but good game anyway. =)

EA did it again |
| Mike from Mathews, VA says (21/Jul/2004): |
I am so proud with EA sports this year. Every game i played i love this season that they produce. This game is so great. The graphics are so real compared to the 2002 for the regular PS. I love the rivals wear you can gain friends or enemies and just shred out on the track. There is many create a car options which i love because im the guy who loves to create cars or tracks or watever in a videogame. I would buy it but i rented it. Its so close to 2005 that ill just wait for that to come out. There is also a great load of cars whith each driver. I wanted codes so i could get the full effect before i have to take the game back but i dont see any worth anything. Anyway this game is super if you havnt bought it yet though dont buy it because 2005 will be out soon. Check pawn shops because if they have a good deal on it go for it. Its a great game!
If you want a free review sent strait to your email with no cost. I do reviews on PS and PS2 games. I play a heck load of them. Send the game you want reviewed and ill have it to you in 24hrs or less. Email me at PGAfan790< remove me > at aol.com

Its the BEST YET!!! |
| Corey from Iowa,Louisiana says (8/Jun/2004): |
I bought this game as soon as it came out and within the first month of owning it I had won several full season championships. You just have to be a complete diehard fan to know what it takes to be a racer whether its a gamer or a real racer. It has great graphics and sound and it gives you a sense of really racing at Daytona or Fontana and it just is at times to much fun and I hope other people are as good at it as i am because i would like to compete against someone in a tournament for bragging rights .

Feel Like You're Really Racing! |
| Mr. Perfect says (6/Apr/2004): |
If you thought that Nascar Thunder 2003 was good, you need to play this. It's so realistic that you really feel like you are racing a car. The wrecks are so good that you can hardly tell that you are playing a game. My favorite thing is that in the single player mode, you can get inside the car. Whith this view you can actually be able to tell what the real Nascar drivers feel like. The multiplayer mode is also really cool. If you are playing a multiplayer game, a really fun thing to do is help the other person playing out by going backwards and trying to hit all of the other cars. This is really fun to do and all of the wrecks look like they would if someone was really going backwards on the track. To sum it all up: This is a rockin' game that could only come from EA.

it could be better |
| Brad from Ft Collins, Co says (12/Mar/2004): |
Nascar thunder 2004 is a good game, but i think it could be better. I just bought the game about 3 weeks ago, and i just can't get into it, don't get me wrong, i love racing games, but this one i could cot not get into for some reason. Playing online is ok, but i think what would make the game even more interesting, is if you could race all people at the same time, rather than just one. Sometimes paling online trying to find someone to race with can take a while, and i don't like to wait. if i want to play a game, i want to play it now, not have to wait 30 minutes to find smeone. those are the things that i don't like about it. Now what i do like about it, is the graphics, their pretty neat, thats about it for the online. Now for just playing(not online) there are alot of different races you can go to, for example, carreer mode, thunder liscense, reace now, season mode, ect. playing career mode is really difficult to beat, you would have to practice alot, before trying to beat it. trust me, i love playing games, but none of them are as hard as this one. like they say, practice makes perfect. thunder liscenses probably my favorite. I like thunder liscense, because it's not as hard as carreer mode, not only that, but you can unlock all different sorts of plates, they could be parts for your car, new cars, cheats, drivers, ect, and you can use those plates that you've unlocked to use on online. and thats pretty fun to do. but thats just my opinion, you might like it, you might not.

Gotta be a Nascar fan to enjoy |
| Mike from Ohio, USA says (18/Jan/2004): |
Nascar Thunder 2004 (I have the PS2 version) is a great game. If you are not truly a Nascar fan , you may be frustrated early on, esp in career mode. The rival/allie feature makes the game interesting. Going back to the "you have to be a fan" statement, the rival/allie feature may be frustrating if you are not a clean racer and just like to bump cars to get ahead. The career mode is for those who like a challenge. Besides, who wants to beat a game the first day they buy it? Although the game was created right before a few Nascar changes, (ex: racing back to the line under yellow, and Nextell taking over) it captures all the realism of the actual sport. Graphics are great. Some crashes may be exaggerated here and there, but great overall graphics. Looking forward to the next version. Hope it isn't too soon though. This one will take a while to complete.

| matt from Auburn, NY says (1/Jan/2004): |
this game is awsome! the rival mode is really cool. also they have put some good music in there like three days grace. sometimes it gets frustrating but its still really fun. they have many car bodies for each driver and in the begining of the races is cool cause they show the jets fly or firworks also they do the last part of the anthem

The Best Game Ever |
| A gamer from Lima, USA says (25/Dec/2003): |
This game is simply the best everybody who thinks this game is unfair because drivers pay you back is stupid. Because if you race cleanly drivers will not have to pay you back for anything. This game is not for people who only win because they wreck everyone else it's only for people who try to win fairly by racing clean. This game teaches a lesson to all you people who only win by wrecking other cars, Race clean. I do have to agree with all the X-box players it was unfair to have ea to have it online for PS2 and not X-box
|
Some what crappy. |
| William L. Cox from Spartanburg,S.C. USA says (14/Dec/2003): |
I would have to say, being the XBOX gamer that I am, "I am very upset with ea sports." Why did you not have an online feature for the XBOX? What's up with you guys? NASCAR THUNDER 2004 had the potential to be an excellent game and you messed it all up. Why does playstation have online and not XBOX? Maybe because sony plays dirty like you guys do! You go out and buy up all your competition that you can't compete with and put them out of buisness. The graphics are okay, but not up to XBOX standards. I also didn't know that all NASCAR drivers where drunks and retards!Just look at how the AI drivers behave and drive around the track! NASCAR would never allow this stuff to happen on the track and if it did the driver would get his rear end yanked off the track in a hurry! If NASCAR where like this, it would be a very expensive crash up derby. I understand that this is a game and that it is supposed to be fun ,...but just tell me when it is supposed to be fun!!? YOUR game is too much of a pain to be fun. The cars in career mode are just to slow to even be some what competative when you first start playing it. I for one will never ever buy another game from ea and this is especially true if ea does not start supporting XBOX LIVE! Oh yeah, and another thing also, none of my friends are going to buy any more of your games either!!! They are all XBOX gamers too! SO you either start making games that are worthy of the XBOX and support XBOX LIVE,or we will never be an ea sports bunch of gamers! You don't even deserve your company name in CAPS! NASCAR THUNDER 2004 stinks bad in my opinion!!!!

EA Sports... Big Money didn't get ya the Big Game! |
| Jmaxx from Laguna Niguel, CA, USA says (13/Nov/2003): |
I have been racing "on line" nascar simulation for 4 years now
and have experienced more seamless paint swapping, door to door racing
anyone could ask for. Unparalleled car physics & graphics too.
EA Sports... Sorry, your big money liscensing buy out of "all
things Nascar" has not bought you even close to the same arena
as Papyrus. You'll be "smoked" for many years to come by a game you shut down. It's a crime that you have the F..'#%*G Ba**s
to effect the demise of a world class sim you can't even duplicate. Your internet play is still infantile compared. SUP?
I race with guys < remove me > at 200+ mph 2" off their bumper... CLEAN, PREDICTABLE! EA's game, the cars jumping from here, over there,
back here... its a joke. Spend some of that big money on some
better internet play programming please. Your cars settings are
are not very sensitive either. Pushin pigs untill you wack enough adjustments that the car goes completely too loose and
uncontrollable. It's not a predjudice thing either, I love &
thuroughly enjoy your F1 1999-2002 championship sim. Superb
job guys, and... Internet play is your best to date. Have had
some awesome Suzuka races w/ 6 to 8 racers. Step up on the
Nascar guys, you got some big shoes to fill!
Thank You,
Jmaxx

Not what it could be |
| Brian from Clover, SC, USA says (9/Nov/2003): |
I have long had an issue with EA doing racing games, they apparently are not racers, and sometimes I wonder if they actually watch any races. The game is an arcade game billed as a sim, and they had to buy out the liscence to be able to do that. The graphics are ok, the sound effects are ok, since when do any kind of race cars have radios in them though. The spotter/ crew chief are so bad as to seem to want you to wreck, so you can't effectively drive from the incar view, I had to turn them off so I wouldn't break the game at their stupidity. The grudges thing is a good idea, but they are set too sensitive, they get mad even if they hit you first when you are stopped out of their way. There should be a way for you to miss a race, as in more than 43 cars trying to qualify, especially if they want the reality factor. I am not sure if I will buy another ea sports game or not, depends on how they can fix the game next year. I really hate they put papyrus out of the nascar business, maybe they could make a generic racing game, or arca or something like that. I tried to ask ea why they did some of what they did, but the best answer I could get from anyone there was try playing the game on another system. They don't even know anything about racing games, and can't give an email address or phone number for anyone at the company that could answer any questions.

Just simply the BEST!!!! |
| David Taylor from ????? says (28/Oct/2003): |
I think if you hate this game, you are not a Nascar fan! I had bought it on Sept.20, And I was kinda bad at it but atleast it made me laugh! And I was watching the EA Sports 500 and with 7 laps to go Elliott Sadler flip high in the air,I wispered Oh my God!!! I was in shock cause I thought the roof flaps would hold him down!!! I never saw a car go that high since the Daytona 500 in 2001 Tony Stewart had fliped. This game has some realistic crash not all though. I think EA should work on there crashes rather than put alot of music on though. This game is fun to play if your a die hard racefan but if your dumb you might wanna check out other games but I tell you this is the best offer!!! I gotta go now bye!!!

BEST GAME ON THE PLANET |
| Michael Floyd from Whittier, USA says (28/Oct/2003): |
I have to say that this is the best game that EA Sports has come up with. The beating and banging of cars is awesome. I really like the rival mode because it is more realistic. The Lightning challenge is great experience for all people and relives some of Nascar's greatest moments. EA Sports, keep up the good work!!!
|
The greatest racing games ever!!! |
| Brian from Reno Nv USA says (25/Oct/2003): |
This is by far the greatest Nascar games ever made. Its so realistic that it feels like I'm behind the wheel myself. I especially like the grudges. Its a little frustrating to have every car out on the track as a rival, but I can easily get past them clean and have good finishes. The career mode is great, and the thunder plates are fun. I especially like the fantasy tracks. It makes me wish they could race in the city every Sunday. And the wrecks are so realistic. The crash damage is realistic. Evrything about this awesome racing gam
e is realistic. I wish that they could put a 43 car field when two friends race head-to head instead of 19. Its got the same gameplay as 2003, but way better. The pit road animation is way cool. It gives the player a view of what the crews on pit road are going through. Especially the occasional mistake they make. I would like to see the drivers communicate with the teams in addition to the teams communicating with the drivers. I think the setups are a little complicated, but with the right experimentation, you can find the right setup for your car either in season, career mode or just head-to-head. Overall, whether you are a Nascar fan or just like any kind of racing, this is a definite must have.

Races end Rivalries don't! |
| Nascar Future Driver from Rustboro,South Carolina says (22/Oct/2003): |
Hey Armando from DickHead Philly I had read the dirt to daytona review and I Know it's Armando not just a gamer. Anyway I think you are a wimp cause Me and my sister put Stability and Auto Brake off like the real drivers do! This game is the best and you know why cause it has the best Graphics I've ever seen on a Nascar! I just love Grudges and Alliances but Armando you must have a tight race car Damn just take some Wedge out Man! I love Grudges and Alliances because I get to hit drivers I hate like Greg Bitchle,Ken Schrader,Jeff Gordon and Michael Waltrip. and I get to help Drivers like, Ryan Newman,Tony Stewart,Casey Mears and Jamie McMurray! And I love Victory lane Celabrations Because I get to see real drivers Faces! I love doing The Winston and Real drivers Retires and young Drivers Steal there ride at Season's end! Bye for now and remember becareful who you mess with because the pack dosen't forget!

Good at times, but frustrating |
| A gamer from Philadelphia, USA says (18/Oct/2003): |
Look, EA, maybe I don't want to have a grudge with every driver out there. The cars are incredibly difficult to control, especially in career mode. I find myself slamming into cars no matter how much i try to pass them clean. (no, i'm not retarded at driving games, i can kick you butt in dirt to daytona)
the career mode in this game blows. it's overly complicated and frustrating. the built in "custom" paint schemes are ugly and the cars are slow. in dirt to daytona's career mode, you come from dirt cars, modifieds and trucks before racing in cup, which allows you to have a considerable bank before moving up to the big leagues, allowing you to be competitive from day one. not in ea's version. it seems like they spent more time on the meaningless extras like michael waltrips interviews and putting cheesy faux rock in the game than on game play.
the victory lane celebration is undeniably cool though.
