Anybody who says this game is the best ever is crazy. There will never be a great wrestling game like No Mercy or Wrestlemania 2000 again. All of these games for PS2 Gamecube and X Box suck after a week. The actual grappling has been trash ever since they stopped making games for nintendo 64 and no real wrestling fan can deny that.

I love the game, the graphics and story lines but, why didn't the Legends get any respect, they have them coming out in the Andre The Giant entrancewith none of their music or videos. I believe if you are going to start something you ought to finish it. Plus Jamie Noble/Nedia, F.B.I, Mark Henry were in the W.W.E before the Ultimo Dragon came either they had to rush the product for shipment or bad mangement

As an excited gamer, especially of the wrestling genre, I have become a bit disappointed. I own an Xbox and had purchased Raw 2, a while ago, and deemed it the greatest wrestling game of all time. P.S. the first RAW Stinks!!!! Anyhow, I rented SD Here Comes the Pain for my little bro's PS2. I had read so much about it. Seen so many screen shots. Heard so much buzz in the workplace. Dreamed so much of the possibilities. The game is awesome!!! With all the options, graphics, sound, lights, pyro, match types, legends, who could complain? Greatest wrestling game of all time? Not by a long shot. My fave? Yes, just for Legion of Doom. How can you guys print in major mags that Ultimate Warrior is gonna be in the game? How can you hype me up like that and then take him away. You could've taken away Rico or Steven Richards to make room for the greatest of all time. But no you had to disappoint me like this. Look guys to anyone reading this we need to get a game going with Raw or Smackdown controls, nothing weird like LOW, and make the greatest wrestling game of all time. I miss the legends music as well. The elim chamber is tight, and the bra and panties match is ok. But I must say story mode is the best I have ever seen. But next time deliver what you say you will. Ultimate Warrior!!! Legion of Doom Forever!!! Rest in Peace Hawk, through the rain and pain, you shown through! We love you! uuuggghh what a rush!!!!

Well this game is bad ass and all, I mean it has the elimination chamber, thats a bad ass match, and there is a lot of other good matches, but the one thing that this game has that sucks is that the story mode is very short and there is a small amount of wrestlers. C'mon man, there needs to be a lot more wrestlers than this. Wheres Jamie Noble, Billy Gunn, APA, Billy Kidman, and all those dope ass wrestlers, and why is edge in this game, I mean dont get me wrong, edge is pretty bad, but hes been out most of the year and what the f***! Another stupid thing is that the old school undertaker, LOD, and all the old school wrestlers dont have their entrance movie, that's bull$#< remove me > at !, thats the only reason I wanted the old school undertaker, i wanted to listen to the movie, this goes for the Road Warriors as well.

first thing first: jeff isn't in the game because he is under the current employment of kirk white and btw, and wwe didn't want a lawsuit. however, they SERIUSLY needed the hulkster in the legends section this game is by far the best in the entire wrestling genre (well, tied with backyard) but anyway i LOVE it. the creativity ( ie targeting a body part, realistic bleading, and the ability to use the treadmail) never ceases to amaze. this game is truely great, and a compleatly and an utterly perfect game in terms of graffics. Im currently in hour 26 of playing this game nonstop and no sleep ( my ps2 just over heated and crashed, so in the meantime im writing this review )

The bra and panties match isn't the best thing about this game. That match is kinda crappy. In this sackdown thre's finally blood! So you can finally crack open triple h 's head. The elimanation chamber is freakin awsome. And they have legends for all the old skool wrestling fans. There are a couple of flaws in this game. None of which affect the game play. So if you like wrestling and you like beating people in the ring and around it. GET THIS GAME! fool

this game is not that good cuz they no jeff or hogan or warrior if they put all the player in there it would be good but they didn't that wack why make a game when you goin take player out the game play is tight and bra and panties is great elimintion chamber is hella good and i love the blood in the game to let all you wwe fans out there is game would be good if they add all the superstar in there. why didn't they add the wolfpack or the white and black nwo this game would be good if they add the whole superstar and the wolfpack and the white and black nwo, this game not even complete still missing sum move in there, they say they got a secret player name sring in the game, if i make this game i would add every superstar that is in the wwe, i would add cooler match like burning alive, elimination clamber, bra and pantie match,8 tag team elimintion match, 8 team tlc match, 8 team table match, inferino match,and more...... they should add all this match in wwe smackdown here come the pain it's would be the coolest and the bestest game but they didn't, i think the game is cool, i hope the next wwe smackdown 6 better be good, i hope they add burning alive match, 8 team elimintion tlc match, 8 team table match and the last one a inferino match..... i hope they add the whole wolfpack and the white and black nwo in smackdown 6.... g2g bye...

This games comes close to the best wrestling game ever behind No Mercy. I have to give it up to THQ and PS2 for Smackdown HCTP. I was a little dissapointed that Hogan isnt in the Game and Roddy Pipper is but The Dead Man Undertaker Makes up for the lost of Hulk Hogan. And Story Mode is fun as hell. As I re-created D-X and afterwards being attack by the Corporation i figure that was just the begining of a new style in wrestling games as it will only get better. Elimination Chamber is fun especially when you start everybody with 5 smackdown icons and there are stunners and rock bottoms coming left and right. Royal Rumble to fast pace but its better then not having it. It could use a multiplayer story mode but story mode itself is great. Game play is excellent the moves are so relastic and authentic and the blood, WOW. No King of the Ring No Problem. It would be better then no mercey if you could put the titles on the line in exhibition, but im sure that'll happen sooner or later. And Plus how about a buried alive match in the next game that would be crazy.

First of all I can answer why Jeff is gone: he was not fired he joined a band.Now that ive covered that lets get to the good stuff. Elimination Chamber and Bra & Panties matches are a great addtion.THe body part target and new attributes make it more realistic so unlike the old games a twist of fate wont take out the big show or someone like that. Blood is a good addition. Season mpde rules and the ability to form factions rules. I created Out For Revenge containing Goldberg,Rey Mysterio, Sean O' Haire, Kane,and Lita. Need I say it? this game rocks!!!!

I just bought this game the day it came out, and I have to say that this game is da bomb! Its enhanced engine with the blood and the fact that you have to wear you oponent down before you can beat him is the most realistic game to date! The only problem that I have with the game is that it has a little out of date music, like it still has Kanes old music and the Duddly boyz, but I dont really pay attention to that. The Elimination Chamber, Bra and Panties, and First Blood have brought wrestling games into a new era. I recomend this game to any WWE lover, or to anyone that just likes to kick the hell out of someone. The story mode complety beast Shut You Mouth, and in my opinion is better that RAW 2's as well. I think that THQ, JAKKS, and YUKES did a great job in making this game, this is a definate game to be put on your christmas list! I also would like to say to everybody that even this game has some out of date music, it still rocks, most wrestling games do not have the engine that Smackdown 5 has. Infact I am yet to see a wrestling game that actually shows you which part of the body of you and your opponents are week or strong, nd I am also yet to see a Wrestling game that you have to wear down you opponent and cant just beat them by kicking the hell out of them, and were you actually jave to use some startegy. So go out and get this game! IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Well, I just gott his game yesterday, and I would like to say... it was okay... but it wasn't the best thing in the world... i mean.. lets get down to the chase.... the controls?... sucked... i liked the controls for Shut Your Mouth better cuz now it's hard to counter moves... and alot of superstars were missing... they should have made Hogan, Bret Hart, Jeff Hardy and Mick Foley unloackable characters or something... but i liked the fact that at least Kane no longer wears a mask in the game and that they at least got Goldberg and Rey Mysterio in it too... but still, in my opinion.. THQ is making these games way too fast.. thats why things in the game are so out-dated, and i think they should take more ime in making these games. Music, well, thats whole different story. THQ really f'd up some of the music this time. Like RVD's for example.. or Kane's... I couldn't possibly give a rats a** if the stuff is copyrighted! I mean, if they had "One of a Kind" by Breaking Point (RVD's music) in SHut Your Mouth, why the heck couldn't they have it here?! I'll be honest.. Here Come the Pain is really should be a $30 game instead of $49.99... It didn't live up to my expectations nor did it give me the full value of the money i paid for it... it was ok.. but still it was a major dissapointment and to some degree THQ should be ashamed of themselves for not putting fourth the effort in taking mroe time in making these games...

Jeff Hardy,Mark Henry,Hulk Hogan? Who cares if they are missing we got new superstars like Rey Mysterio,Goldberg,John Cena,and other new superstars that top the ones that are missing. Smackdown HCTP doesnt have to be perfect to be an awsome game! My point:This game is awsome and thank you to the makers. The season is awsome. Not to say that there is lengends like LOD (Legion of Doom) And also Old School Undertaker and of course. There is some flaws that need to be fixed like the Entrances that need to be renewed or just need to be changed like RVD's,Kanes,and a few others but that is fine. I am looking foward to seeing the next Smackdown in the series and hoping to see La Resistance or a few others that they left out. Like John Cena Would say.......Word Life!

the graphics are mad hot. the cowd is actually 3-d. thankm lord rey rey is in it goldberg. the only bad part is the duddleys song boomshell is not in it. then when its a tag match the other team breaks up the pin. but thats ok. it the best game peroid and thats the bottom line.

This game is an incredibly great update since the addictive "Shut your mouth". The new grappling system is great.. but still not as good as the controls in "No Mercy", but they come really really close. my only complaint about this title is one that nobody has really noticed yet... The only reason me and my friends played the last smackdown was so we could create our own characters (we really dont use the superstars)and either play or watch matches. Now whats wrong with "Here comes the pain" is the new attribute system. our created characters are as weak (or weaker) than the divas!! And the only way to make them even a match for fighting the computer superstars is to build up each character in the story mode (and that takes time). So thats kind of a bummer...

I had heard about this game on the internet about 5 months ago in a THQ forum and was stoked. I picked it up the first day of it's long-anticipated release. I was amazed by the interactive backstages. The Time Square stage is, by far, the best part of the game. The story mode is awesome, but it is suprisingly short compared to "Shut Your Mouth". The legends are pretty cool, excluding the fact that they all have the same entrance. The match variation (not to mention the newly added Elimination Chamber and B&P matches) is too much to handle. You can gain endurance, strength, etc. Some of the only draw-backs to this game is that the "Royal Rumble" match doesn't let you play as other Superstars while waiting for your character to make his/her way to the "Squared Circle". Some characters (Jeff Hardy, Hogan, Jackie, La Resistance, and many others) were left out of the game. At least Edge was still in the game. Matt Hardy is extremely cool in this game. Goldberg makes a high impact on this game's sales. The rest of the, what, 40+ characters speak for themselves. The entrances are more anitomicaly correct and realistic. We can only hope that a SmackDown 6 is in the near future. This game blows Wrestlemania XIX out of the water. "RAW 2: Ruthless Agression" is a pretty cool game aswell, but will never come close to the SmackDown line of games. To wrap it all up, "This game totally reaks of awesomeness!"

At first the game started to be all it was worth. Than I started to play as of the matches. The Bra and Panties match isn't all it is cracked up to be. It takes to long to win the match.
I like the story mode but, I think there should of been a little more to it. You do get to pick your favorite wrestler and use them, pick the show, and even tell if you want them to be a heel or face.
They could of also added a few other wrestlers to it. I wanted the FBI in the game. As I was going through the create a wrestler you can create Billy Gunn but instead of coming up with him why could'nt they just of put him in the game. They have his move list but nothing else for it. I also would of liked Maven, Jeff Hardy, or they could of least had Hogan or Mr.America.
The game would of also been better if all the the superstars had their music. Victora has a re-make of the music but really isn't like the music on T.V.
So I believe the game could of been better. But in other places it is just GREAT.

Why bother releasing a video game which has less to offer than its previous version? The developers of this game left out some important things in this edition, the least of which are Jeff Hardy and Hulk Hogan. Not only is there no commentary during the matches (as opposed to improved commentary, which I expected), but the announcer does not announce the wrestlers' names. So obviously there is no call name selection in CAW (as opposed to more call name choices which would have been an improvement). Another disappointment is the fact that the entrance moves seem to have been ported over from the last title with little or no changes , instead of adding more entrance moves or a create-an-entrance feature. While the new RAW game for the X-Box offers a create-a-light-show feature there is nothing of the sort for Here Comes the Pain, a major disappointment to say the least. Do the developers think anybody owns this game without creating at least one wrestler? Why they would trim down features for CAW, one of the reasons this franchise is a standout, is beyond me. There is not much to say about the much vaunted bra & panties match, and adding blood does not warrant removing what has been taken out of this game since SYM. The new counter technique I could take or leave, it doesn't change the gameplay much. This game would be more accurately titled WWE SMACKDOWN 3.5 Just Bring Your Mouth. It seems that a better version was released about 12 months ago. I hope the developers take notice of this for the next version which hopefully will reward its fans with improvements in the most vital areas (CAW, commentary, call names, create-an-entrance, create-a-light-show) and leave out some fluff which does not advance the title as much as it should. How much space does coding for sprays of blood or bras & panties take up? And what do we get for all the good stuff which was left out of CAW? About 3000 ugly sweaters to put on your wrestler, not that anybody will notice them enter the arena. This is still the best wrestling video game this year (with some serious competition from X-Box's RAW this year) and has the best graphics (though not a marked improvement from last year) and player control, but that might not be the case next year if they keep leaving out the features the hardcore fans appreciate and not making the improvements which other developers are attempting.

Great idea THQ including wrestling legends into the game. Like the WWE normally does it is trying toout do its competitor. The only other wrestling game out at the moment is Legends of Wrestling so i think it was a smart move.
This has to be the best part of the game as i always created wrestlers from the 80's & 90's. The ultimate warrior was supposed to be in the game but the deal fell through as he agreed to be in the new legends of wrestling game.
Everyone is saying that this is the best wresling game ever so for the next installment how could they top this? Easy include fan favourites or wrestlers that WWE have copyrighted. Imagine how good a smackdown 6 would be with bret hart, mick foley, the bulldog, mr perfect, warrior, hogan, savage etc.
