Well as soon as i put it in the PS2 i was ready for a brilliant game and guess what it was. The grapplin system is great and the character roster is never ending. I have had every single smackdown and by far this one is the best. its so in depth. the season mode really brings it alive. There is only one bad thing. Where is Mick Foley!! The best wrestler ever and not one glimpse of him. Any way, the sounds of the wrestlers hitting the mat is suberb and the way the camera moves around is wicked. Any high flyin move shows a slow mation camera angle. Gameplay rules. When you go through the season mode you make all the decisions ie. make a faction have a manager and if you get it right you can snog any diva you want.Creating a wrestler is another brilliantly thought out plan. You can put a funny mask on when you are entering the ring but when you start to fight it disapears and this is the main reason why it will never get boring. my PS2 will have to blow up before i stop playing it. Your whole life in a box for £30. I think its worth it 100% of the time.

Ok so I started playing Smackdown!: Here Comes The Pain the day it came out for rental around here. I got my hands on the last copy around and was so happy that I took the day off from work without even giving them a reason just so I could play it.
The grappling system is interesting but gets a little annoying after a while. It gives you more moves to work with for each character but the intro grapple animations are annoying after the 20,000,000th time seeing them in one match. The difficulty of the game is way down (I owned the CPU completely on Smackdown! level of difficulty) and there's hardly any AI to it at all.
There are many, many themes missing from the game, the intros are worse than Smackdown!: Shut Your Mouth and creating a character (as far as intros are concerned) is retarded. Jeff Hardy wasn't in the game because A) He sucks, and B) You obviously don't watch wrestling, he's gone until apparently March.
And even though this is completely off topic, I'm saying it anyways.
I hate The Hulk! It's a bad movie, a bad game, and just a piss-poor concept in general, just like superman! Stupid comic book characters who are basically invincible, what's the point? What were they thinking?

smack down is the beat game I have ever played and no game has any thing on it maybe raw2.I realy like this game becuse I only payed 19.35 online and the is supost to cos 50.00 dollars I like the legends but they should have nathan jones team lesner team already mad and they should have evalotion aready mad as stable that why I like this game so much.but I do not like the fact that they do not have a burried alive match and casket mach and that mark henry is not on it and mcfoily is not a legend that some the reason i do not like the game but it still rules. it is the best best gameon the ps2 system and that why i love it so much.the game is still wild becse it has blood and you can put people out and have elination chamber.I hope they do not come out with another game untell this time next.they shoud have matt and jeff hardy and that is no reason not to like this game and if they have any problem with it you can kiss my as*.

if you ask me this game is the best wrestling game ever trust me ive got all the wwe wrestling games the graphics are improved since wwe shut your mouth there is now blood on it and first blood matches are on it along with the elimenation chamber and my persanol favourite bra and panties matches and if any one asks you cant have men in bra an panties matches the music and entrances are sick shame rob van dam has the old music and kane also got his old music but he is balled like the one in the wwe now the game play is stil easy but it has changed a litle bit but easy to get use to the season mode is just a year but really fun you get something called smakdown dollars so you buy and unlock areans legendary wrestlers suits move sets loading screens and different coulor bra and panties ill tell you again this game is the best there is a thew things that could be better some entrances the comentry is no longer on it and it does not anounce you to the ring and some wrestlers that could have been on are unfortantly not

This game is the most perfect game for me. it can notloss against any over game in the world.The season is better then ever and u have Ray Masteirio,John Cena,Goldberg and Kane with his mask off.I think and all my freinds think that it is better that u can buy stuff in stead of winning things and picking what u think u want it and it is also better that u can buy people agein becouse on wwe smackdown 2 u could win people. all my freinds think it is also better that u have legonds and that u have The Undertaker(also known as Old Scool Undertaker)were he is a lot better but i think that u could of not put those gloves on him.i think that u shoud have gave all the legons some music and a proper entrence for them to go to the ring to weastle.u could have Ondry the giant becouse i have nether seen him i have only herd of him.on this web site u could put some proper cheats on it becouse i want to know how to get out of the elimination camber becouse no other web site accuatly explains it properly.

This game is the best SD game yet, the matches, the roster (with the exception of FBI & La Resistance, who should be included) are great. The inclusion of blood really makes a difference, and the season is a lot better than SYM. The CAW hasnt improved that much apart from the entrance clothing that can now be created. The created music still sucks!
There are some wrestlers who should be included instead of the crappy bunch of legends. Maven, Shannon Moore, Nathan Jones, Mark Henry, Doug & Danny Basham, Shaniqua, Rene Dupree, Sylvan Grenier, Rob Conway, Chuck Palumbo, Nunzio,Johnny The Bull Stamboli, Jamie Noble, Nidia, Spanky, Gail Kim, Molly Holly, Miss Jackie, Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow, Orlando Jordan and the greatest ever, Kanyon! who betta? The bra & panties match was good in theory, but is a huge letdown, because its s**t. All of you saying "where is jeff hardy? where is Hulk Hogan, where is KOTR?" if you had been watching WWE in the past year, you would realise that Hogan & Hardy got FIRED! so they shouldnt b in this game. The KOTR got scrapped, so it shouldnt be in this game. As for the people asking why X-Pac & Chyna are not in it. are you for real?? as for the casket match. that sucked in Know Your Role, and the match hasnt been used in WWE since 1999. You people need 2 realise that THQ only include wrestlers that are employed, Matches that the WWE use, and PPV's that still exist!

I think this game rocks because there are better music,Storylines and wrestlers. The one thing that is not cool is that Shane Mcmahon and Jeff Hardy are not on the game. WHAT THE F***. Overall it is better because you can unlock stuff like legends and moves. You should by this game because it is fun and you will not get tired of it like other games. The other thing is that Kane,Victoria,Stacy,Duddlys,Lita and RVD do not have their new songs. Save up your money and buy this game because it's worth it. The graphics are better but the faces do not look that real,The sound is kind of good,The gameplay is sweet,the reversals are not that good,The storylines are kind of short,The wrestlers are awesome and the match types are execellent supreme. The match types are Bra and panties:Sweet.First blood:Awesome.And the grand Finale The Elimanation Chamber:Best thing on the Frigg'n game. Created wrestler is alot better with textures and layers. Their are Signature, Quick,Power and Submission grapple holds. There are more moves and better story lines like the Austin Monster truck that runs over the rivals car two times and the austin beer truck spray(exactly like Mcmahons and Rock get sprayed) and also the triple H storyline when Austin Lifts HHH in his car with a giant forklift and drops the car upside down exactly like the survivor series 2000 story line against Austin in Tampa Florida.

I have to start by saying LET THE BLOOD FLOW! thats right blood all the way through it, i cant win a match without making the opponant draw blood and FEEL THE PAIN! what does suck about this game is that u cant make ur own entrance theme by putting in a chosen cd like ecw extreme on the psx. there should be more entrances for the created characters. legends were chosen poorly by the creators.some of the legends should have included: Huklamania!, Randy savage, Mankind and the all legend Jeff hardy! he made hardcore and ladder matches and he would have made the game a bit more intence!
P.s Kane looks AWESOME AND SCARIER THAN EVER!!elimination chamber matches are pretty cool as well making me and a couple of buds fight it out for nearly 24 hours you wil never get bored of this game and scores a 10 for my vote! and it's a must have for christmas or a great b day prezzie for a loved wrestling fan! a list of the matches, ladder, TLC, hell in a cell, cage, single, tag, tornado tag, 6 man tag, royal rumble, king of the ring, first blood and many more! bye for now

Let me start off by saying SD 5 is great, but I won't say it's the best, sure it's the best when you think about the rest of the SD games, but at least SD 3 and 4 had commentary,and a ring announcer. I honestly think that titles should be able to b defendedin Exibition, at least while a season is not going on,I also say that FBI, Molly Holly, Spike Dudley, etc. should've been in the game. The Legends is the best except for Hillbilly Jim, he should've been replaced by Hogan or somebody, and also the CAW is great to me, and yes the music is sorta lame, but it's still ok, however I don't understand why RVD, Kane, and Dudley Boyz don't have their current music, Stacy Kiebler, and Victoria is understandable. You know what else should've been in the Main Event section? Casket Match, that match is a good match and it's already been done in Smackdown 2 so why not put it in 5, I don't kow about anybody else, but I think Smackdown 5 is the best wrestling game yet, but their's still things missing.

I my self am glad to see a new SmackDown game. It was a long wait but it was worth it. With adding blood and all the new types of match like Elimination Chamber and also the bra and panty match it a must have. Also the game play is must easy from the last ones and a lot more fun to use. the graphics have not change much from the last SmackDown but the graphics from the last one were not easy to get mad at. The value of the game is what ever you pay because the fun factor is off the roof. With that said i must say the lifespan is till SmackDown 6. Also there were a few things that could have been change. If your any thing like me you like your game to match real time Wresting and with haveing to go threw season mode it is not that easy to keep up. Also the game have every Big Name Super Stars but were the little guys who count like the high flying Maven or the new comer Shanne Moore. The game also could have better sound meaning give the Super Stars there real themes or something a little bit closer. Other then that the game is a real winner a great season mode best story lines ever. Also the light and Sounds will pull you in. The game a real winner aleast till SmackDown 6. Well in all that said i must say KANE YOU RULE. THANK YOU.

I think that this game is the best smackdown series.The only thing that bothered me is that many wrsetlers are not there like for example the basham brothers,Jamie noble,Shannon Moore,Billy Kidman and many others.Like everybody sees this in my opinion is one defect of smackdown 5.But apart from that everything is great.So viva smackdown!!!!!If you smell aw what the rock is cookin!!!!!:-)

Here is how this man feels about smackdown here comes the pain, I love the game through and through and this game would be perfect if only for some very minor touches really. I think that the entrances are fine, but they should have the music fixed so that they are the same as the wrestlers at the time. Here are some examples, RVD (no words) Victoria (no words) and the duddlyz (no words) very minor makeup problems that could be fixed easly I think. Also they shoud fix the bug that makes it so you cannot interupt submition moves. Other than that I think this game is the best one on the market as of today. I only wish for one change for my personal veto, that is that they should alow you to make a match a championship match of some kind if you wanted it to be without haveing to go through seison mode. I do tournaments for my friends all the time and I would love for them to go through the tourny and at the end get there title shot match. As it is I do that but I have to go thru seiason mode every time to give the right belt to the right wrestler and it you be much more fun to have the match be for a title when you pick it. Is it just me or have they stopped alowing you to play with female wrestlers in the game? I know that past games didn't have that option either and it p!ssed me off. I mean did they not think that for once, "Hey you know, girls might actually play this game". For one I know lots of girls that do! Secondly it really blows that you can't put up more attribute points on the female chars.
As for flaming dumpster matches, Ambulance matches, and burried alive matches. Those weren;t even thought of when this game came out so shut your mouth and wait for the next game!
And I agree, where is Shane O'Mac? You can't have high flying, deftifying, body bruisen bloody face matches without Shane O'mac.
The graphics are way better in here comes the pain then the others "obvious". AS for the entrances they are pretty damn awsome. One thing though about the "Old Timer Chars" is that I do not see the Ultimate Warrior. I see Sergeant Slaughter, and personally I don't like him. He's a horrible wrestler and should have been replaced by the Ultimate Warrior.
