The Best RPG Game Ever40570

Champion 911 from USA says (21/Apr/2004):
This game has pretty good graphics so if you have played any other game like it this probaly has the best graphics. Even thought they say don't tell cheats Iwill tell you a hint. If you fight the first boss and then start a new game useing your old charcter your charcter will never die because there will be a huge wall around him (May only be for online gameplay).

RPGS RULE!!!!!!!!...(now)43411

A gamer from Sturgeon bay says (28/Nov/2004):
Before I played champions of Norrath, I hated RPG games. This game brings out the best in RPG games. Not to mention the great hack and slash style, un-like platform games where it is more button combos. The best feature is the many different charatures, and styles you can have. It has every thing from die-hard spell casters (aka me!) to strong melee (aka my friend!) to long range(aka my other friend!) So you can have a perfect party!

I recomend this WONDERFUL GAME!!!!!! :)

The Champion of action RPGs. Get it? HA HA HA!40096

Mitch from Atlanta, GA USA says (1/Apr/2004):
One may wonder why Sony would release a game based on its goldmine franchise, Everquest, that is not a hardcoer RPG, but once you actually play Champions, you'll understand. EQ is a game that has ruined many a life since its debut in the late 90's, but I have never really been a fan of MMORPGs, and there are many out there like me, so Sony decided to cash in on those of us who still have lives by releasing Champions of Norrath. For those of you who played the original Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, you may recognize Snowblind Studios' work in CON. The developers left the D&D universe to tackle the task of god ol' EQ, and they have pulled it off quite nicely.
CON plays exactly like Dark Alliance, but you can now zoom the camera in and out, which is a nice addition. You can choose from five different characters, each with make or female versions, so you should be able to find a character to suit your playing style. The RPG elements are excellently implemented and very user-friendly, so leveling up is always easy to figure out. Visually CON pushes the PS2 to the limit, but still manages to remain playable. The textures are quite detailed, as are the character models for everyone in the game. There are a few framerate issues when there are a large number of enemies on screen, but it's not enough to bother most people. The ability to play with four people was an excellent option to be included here. It's a blast to play multiplayer, and online play just makes this even sweeter!

The story reminds me a lot of a fighting game story. You know..... not very deep and somewhat lame, but it's decent enough to get the point across. Snowbllind studios included pretty much everything you could possibly want in a hack 'n slash RPG, and the replayablity is off the chart. This game is definitely the Champion of the console hack 'n slash RPG genre, which makes it the best out of like four other games! Despite the lack of genre competition, this game truly does shine. Give it a try.

This game ROCKS!40657

Evil Erik from USA says (27/Apr/2004):
I play this game for 18 hours and it is really cool. The graphics are the best I have ever seen for a RPG game. The sound is awesome. If you listen to some parts it kinda sounds like the movie BraveHeart. The gameplay can go on for hours. This game is the best. The one bad thing is that you can't unlock more charcters in the game because I have already beat the whole game three times. One good thing is that if you pick the ShadowKight then import him/her (at level 18 then you should be able to use the skeleton)and use the skeleton (have a mulitap so you can use 4 characters) 4 times and then delete them if you are playing alone. you will have a whole army of them and they won't die if you are playing on adventurous. It is really cool.

A "Hack and Slash" Must have.38912

DragonSlayer from Michigan, USA says (8/Feb/2004):
Snowblind has outdone themselves with this top down hack and slash rpg. Online gaming is free the only charge that the players are responsable for are the normal internet connection prices. This is also the first insallment in the Everquest series that does not require you to play online, there is a massive offline adventure waiting for you and up to 3 of your friends via multitap. There are 5 classes and races for you to choose from and you can customize your charicter as well, everything from faces to hair color male and female versons of each race are avalable. So weather you want to heal other players with a High Elf cleric or destroy your oposition with an array of spells and special moves as a Dark Elf Dark Knight is up to you. Voice chat is also avalable for online play witch takes the hack and slash genra in a whole new direction. You can also take your offline beefed up charicter and port him into online play so that you dont have to start anew. There are literaly thousands of items and weapons and even the ability to create and customize your own via gems and magic artifacts, so if you always wanted a massive axe of fire and poision just find the components needed and make it yourself rather than searching for days on end to find one. To sum up this is deffinatly a Hack and Slash must have. PS2 owners if you like rpgs in any way shape or form even a little pick this one up and you will be finding yourself so engrosed that you will be annoyed when the phone rings or when you have to leave for work or school.

Pick this one up!
So says the DragonSlayer.

Definitely worth playing!39810

kazz from Vancouver, Canada says (18/Mar/2004):
I am a man who likes his rpg games, and this is a shoe in for one of the best. Choosing the different characters gives it a nice boost, so you can see who's bad and who's good. My personal fave is the archer. It was a challenge, and i almost didn't beat it, but then i found a nice bow, and killed innuuruk (the last boss). The controls were basically the same as baldurs gate, which made me used to the game immeadiately. The spells and graphics were pretty nice, and being able to have the hotkeys for spells was cool too. The only thing that bugged me, was how there were some minions who were better then some of the bosses. The save-point and bring back ur dead partner was very handy was well. Though you did go back and forth quite a bit, trying to find things for ppl and find the ppl themselves, but other then that, it was a solid game.
