This game is sweet. The graphics are cartoony. The controls are simple. And the weapons are good what more could you ask for. There are tons of guys to kill. There are a lot of stealthy missions. There are even crazy people in it. And some guys in it are so stupid it is funny. Like running into walls or havinf stupid things to do. Like beating you with batons if you you don't stay with them. Overall this game is awsome.

if you like FPS and liked goldeneye. you will like XIII. i dont know what the guy below me is talking about he just sucks at games that require both skill knowlegede and hand eye cordination. I got this game for jesus's birthday and just yesterday finally beat it. Hate to spoil it but it is to be continued. good story good weapons good levels good music good graphics good controls+ GREAT GAME
Buy it now if you haven't already. Take it from me this game is good.

First let me say this game has one good thing the cell shadded graphics that's all. I have tell you the controls suck's the gameplay suck's almost everthing suck's that's why I gave it 1 star if you like it good for you I hate it.

This is the best fps on ps2 out right now. The graphics are cartonny but still are good. 13 has a good number of weapons and it is a challenging game. The two azzclownz below said "its too hard, there's too many eniemes, my diaper needs changing" They just suck at games and want a spice girls sissy game. If you can't hang with the big dogs stay on the porch. Take my word for it, for real gamers and gamers who like fps this is a great game. Good plot Good weapons good levels good graphics good control. These azzclownz obisvoluy suck at games like they do on wienerz. Get this game if you like fps. P.S. this game is also cold because you get the kill the government and the illuminati at that.

this is a typical 1st person shooter that expands the genre with cartoon graphics and a unmissable plot. Trhough out this game the most noticable thing that everyone can c is the use or ceel shading, this gives a exciting feel to the game that little or no other to my memory has. but u dont buy a game just becuase of its looks but unfortantly the rest of the game dosnt stand up to its unique visuals. dont get me wrong it has one of the best plots i have ever seen in a video game and will keep u hooked to the end but slight flaw in gameplay dont always make it an injoyable ride. at times it can be extreamly fast invloving numbers of enemies that offer a real challenge to gamers, hiding for cover and running from grenades r just an example but at other times the whole process can get very frustrating as near impossible objectives need to b ment and wen a save point dosnt come up for a long while it can see u playing the same scene over and over. saying this the game isnt all bad, mostly the oposite, sound plays a huge role in any game and this is no exception the jaz theme base offers a unique feel that works very well. gameplay apart from the bad parts stated is very fun and enjoyable and anyone who loves 1st person shoters will no doubt enjoy the game. the one last part is lifespan, having completed it in only a few days i would of liked it to b longer but the variuos multiplayer level will keep u going for some time.
so over all this game offers a unique style and plot that has to b seen but unless ur a real fan of shooters i would give this a miss as the slight flaws will u send u running, how ever if ur a fan this is a must buy for anyone.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a huge fan of 1st person shooters. With the exception of Doom II and Goldeneye (both of which I spent hours upon hours playing), I have found that most games in this genre do little to improve on the original Castle Wolfenstein design. This game, with poor gameplay, little vibration feedback and tedious (and often confusing) levels proves no exception to this rule and makes XIII the type of game destined for bargain bins everywhere.
When I first saw the ads for this game, I could hardly contain the excitement. I am a huge fan of David Duchovny's, so hearing his voice as the voiceover is pretty exciting. In terms of sounds and cut sequences, the game is able to produce a feeling of tension and mystery. The voice overs are well done and the comic book feel of the cut sequences ads to the excitement of the game. In terms of graphics, the game uses a 3d engine but gives off a 2 dimensional look, similar to Jet Grind Radio or Robotech:Battlecry. The comic book graphics work well with this genre, and the soundtrack keeps a good pace.
That said, I found the gameplay for this game to be incredibly awkward. The interface for switching between weapons and items is poor, requiring several button pushes just to get on the item you want.
In addition, the physics of interaction is done poorly. For example, if your character wants to pick an object off the table or open a door, you have to move the targeting crosshairs specifically on the object until you get a prompt,THEN you have to touch the action button to pick it up. This interface is particularly frustrating when one needs to open a door in a hurry or run from incomming fire.
The control is also no picnic. Typical of 1st person shooters, the location of the self is not specific, though you are required to keep within certain parameters (bridges with no railings for example). Thus, I found the guy falling off piers and getting into trouble without even doing anything.
In addition to this, the game has troubles keeping its pace consistent. I found some parts of this game to be no challenge, and others near impossible. The poor system of saving and checkpoints is disasterous, and leaves you oftentimes stuck in unappealing parts of the game.
What can I say? This game was incredibly disapointing. I went into this hoping to expand my video game experience, and instead found a game that isn't very fun to play. I bought this game fully expecting a game that would entertain me for a few days, but instead found myself feeling upset about the purchase.
Maybe fans of 1st person shooters will like this game, but I doubt it. there is little here to keep even the most hardcore of 1st person fans wanting to play this more than once or twice.
In this games defense, I will say that fans of comic book style graphics will enjoy the look of this game, and fans of David Duchovny will enjoy hearing his voice now that the X files are gone. But don't expect to find the answers here...
