The Best | | Mark Jester F. Pardillo from Phillipines says (1/Mar/2004): | I dont know if anyone of you has played this game but for me, this game rules above all flight games that i've ever played. there were times that some of the mission are hard but its challenging. the sound effects, the graphics it so cool........ hope there are more part 2 for this game..!!!!
| Options atlast! | | A gamer from Seattle Washington says (20/Mar/2005): | Being a long time fan of aerospace games I leaped at the chance to get this game, at first for the sole reason that you could fly the YF-23. Of the great features this game has as compared to many on the market today it features a good lot of missions with many variable tasks that as far as I know, exceeds that of any other games for this console.
It has over 100 playable craft with again lots of options between fighter types, as diverse as prop planes, and vertical take off and landing jets, to the SR-71 predecessor. You also have auxilary weapons, and can select a different paint scheme for your aircraft. The more you play the more and better planes you unlock.
Despite having a relatively pre-determined set of courses to play, you can unlock bonus missions, which greatly increases playability after you beat it the first time through. You can also select whichever stage you'd like to play, just without any pendings on the main game mode.
During most levels you have nagging enemies flying around that you can kill for various bonuses, which hunting them becomes a 2nd level on a stage, because you dont only destroy say, a network of ground radar, but chase them too, although they're not as difficult as the Yellows off AC4. At times, you have a choice of stages you can choose to take on over another, which again is a good option.
3 fighter wings and different characters inside those wings to choose from. One may have primarily good ground attack aircraft etc.
Briefings are read aloud as are intermissions, so if you have those microscopic tvs such as myself or a long intermission its a real plus.
It could be considered a strength or a weakness depending on your tastes, but it has a fair amount of anime-style integration as far as the characters are concerned, which show up far far more frequently than ac4. Along similar themes you also have a few space missions, which again some may really like or really hate.
The only real complaints I have about it which I do think are relatively considerable are what one could consider annoying raido chatter, "bad dubs", but most are tollerable and grow on you.
Second, is the fickle menu. You have to keep going back from one subcategory to another which Im not sure how they could improve it, but it is certainly fickle and adjitating
All in all, if you have interest in Console air sims you definately have to own this one. I bought it new when it came out for $50 and wasn't disappointed, and it's came down alot since. Definately a must have
