The Game Play44285

A gamer from USA says (7/Mar/2005):
It`s Gameplay Was Good Graphics Sound and its chart display was also very new to the MK world. Also considering the Selection of players and people in the game to use and the online fetures. The Konquest set up and lifespan was a work of art also very cool in the fact that it was RPG/Fight/Quest game MKD was good with the music chart graphics and all round good game play.

I believe that Mortal Kombat Deception is the best fighting game out on the market today.43933

A gamer from Parma, USA says (18/Jan/2005):
Due to all the best characters that have been brought back from all the previous series, this game is #1 when it comes down to fatalities and the hara-Kiri. Also the different realms you get to battle in allows you to get into all the action of either pushing them to there deaths or pushing them into another realm. All in all this is the best video game for those who love all the gore and brutality that they didn't get to see in all the other one's. So I rank this game a ten for the best because ever since I have played it, it is the best thing you can do when you are bored or even angry.

Good Game, But Unrealistic43829

Richard from Bristol R.I. says (4/Jan/2005):
This game is entertaining, but the aspect of killing your opponent in the middle of the fight can be somewhat annoying and unbelievable. it takes two numbers off of my review. I did like the chess game and the tetris styled game a lot as well as Konquest mode. I find the combo system a bit frustrating and difficult to execute. it can make the game slightly frustrating. On the other hand, I did find the graphics crisp, and the sound effects to be outstanding. The new and old characters are wonderful, and the martial arts styles they have is just beautiful. I give this a well deserved Eight out of Ten!

Kombat accepted43829

Aani(Ryuken)Leyhai from Hagerstown Maryland Usa says (1/Dec/2004):
Deception is a better version from Midway's first attempt at creating a 3d fighting game based on the ever popular franchise. New interdutions such as better areans with interactive areas to get the Mk3 and Mk2 feel as well as a all out and about new Konquest Mode. The fighting techniques are pretty well based off but without proper knowledge of Martial arts they are to umost precesion. Sound quality has improved with differnt voice actors and a Fmv with a good soundtrack of language. Some of the 7 to eight combos can be frustarting but alittle tweaking and practice makes the game suprisenly easy for beginers new the 3d version of the MK classic. Decpetion also has added mini-games that can be quite fun such as a puzzle fighter game quite like Cacoms super puzzle fighter 2 for the PS1. An all new game of chess where the pieces are actually battles makes the boring game of behead the king just a bit more exciting. With returning chraraters from Deadly alliance and some from the Mk triolgy this game is out to be the best.

Mortal Kombat does it again!43121

Coexisting Controdiction from Everywhere and Nowhere says (11/Nov/2004):
I tell you what, the MK games just get better and better. This game is no exception! It is by far the best game I've seen in the series since Deadly Alliance!

You have your standard kombat. If you are an expert in Deadly Alliance, you won't have a whole lot of new stuff to figure out. The fighters still have the three-styles-per-fighter Deadly Alliance made famous. Innovations this time around include 2 fatalities per character, destroyable backgrounds, death traps that give you a quick victory, and my personal favorite, the hara kiri moves.

Then you got two new modes of play. Chess Kombat is a very interesting mode of play, but I find that Puzzle Kombat is the most addictive. Then again, I'm a bit of a tetris addict, so that's probably why I like it.

The Konquest mode is a lot bigger and more amazing than in Deadly Alliance. Most of the villagers are angry with me though becaue I like beating them up. So sue me! You can earn money, and keys for the krypt (which I notice as shrunk a little bit since the last game), and when you beat it, you get Shujinko, the ultimate character!

This game also brings back a lot of old characters that aren't featured in a whole lot of MK games. IE, Baraka, Nightwolf, Kobal, and my personal favorite, Ermac. Old favorites such as Sub-Zero and Scorpion, Bo Rai Cho, and Li Mei are carried over from the last game, and newbies such as Darrius, Ashrah, Kira, and the ghost of Liu Kang (at least I think that's what the gray one's supposed to be) are introduced. And though you can't play the big boss (Onaga) this time around, he's still incredibly difficult to beat, even if the deathtraps off. I swear, I've gotten impaled on those pikes more times than anything else.

All and all, I give MK Deception a perfect 10.

Mortal Kombat Deception: taking Alliance's innovations to the next level.42796

A gamer from Long Beach, CA, USA says (12/Oct/2004):
I must say Ed Boon is really steering the Mortal Kombat series into an even greater way of fighting and living the incredible story that is Mortal Kombat. The new innovation of the Konquest mode in deadly alliance was one thing, allowing the player to actually train with all the various characters that are offered, but the konquest mode in Mortal Kombat Deception really raises the bar. The albity to be able to roam free throughout all the various intense realms that Boon and and the rest of the Mortal Kombat staff have offered is just great. It really allows you to gain a perspective that the many warriors might have in the game and that's really what these games are about. The Mortal Kombat series was never just about fighting. It gave us the most unique story line that the video game fight genre has ever seen. One of the things I always want to get from these games is the feel of the character and I really believe that Mortal Kombat Deception really provides this along with all the other great features that it has offered from the past 10 games. I give Mortal Kombat Deception a 10. Way to go Ed Boon you did it again...

The Best Mortal Kombat Ever!!!!42774

Crow from USA says (8/Oct/2004):
I think it's the best Mortal Kombat ever! It brings back tons of old characters and new ones as well. It has a puzzle mode (Mortal Kombat Tetris), a chess mode, and a new Konquest mode. In the Konquest mode you get to roam the realms and earn new characters, money for the krypt, and more! I don't want to give too mush away so...
