Very good indeed | | james leighton from Cheshire says (14/Jun/2004): | Way Of The Samurai 2 is a choose your own adventure set in the late EDO period of japan in a place called AMAKAZE,You start off in the gateway to AMAKAZE sitting with a little girl who has givin you food, you choose what to say to her(what you say to people determines what ending you will get at the end.The graphics are very realistic with voice acting, lip syth is good too.once finishing the game and seeing the one of many endings you will be given points which when collected give extra faces and costumes and more items the shops to buy adding to the playback value, I myself played this 56 times allready and still am playing it becouse i still havent found all the swords and items yet.while playing you choose what group you take jobs from the townspoeple,The aoto gang, and the magistrates(police)giving it a GTA quality.the fighting in this is very good indeed they have used CGI to capture the moves you make and with well over 600 moves to do this makes the fighting very injoyable(I would advise little kids that there are scenes of violence and gore in this game),All in all this game is even better than the original Way of the samurai and should be played by all types of gamers
| well thought out with great results. | | Snakes_eyelid from London says (14/Jun/2004): | first of all, i take my reviews seriosly, and don't cut games much slack, but this game earned a great score, maybe even a ten.
This game is one of very few games of it's kind, and is very original. the game allows you to choose your path through disisions based on the situation you are in, it is NOT a game that lets you visually pick a storyline(a la Lord of the Rings: rotk), in that sense, it differs from almost any game, making it seem as though you are actually living the life of a samurai.there are lots of branching storylines
The collecting in this game is fun, and althoug it takes time, it's not repetitive at all. Collecting the swords is an awsome replay value booster, each sword hosts new skills and new moves, so it's worth collecting as many as you can.
The action in this game is crisp and clean, and while at the begining of the game seems simplistic, as new moves are acquired and new swords collected, the combo system and move- sets deepen considerably. After a couple of completed storylines, your warrior will be unstoppable, and your collection of swords huge.
simple put, the insane amount of extras in this game is a big bonus, and just adds to an already good game. There are lots of charector modles, and multiple attires for each, and the costomization for an action game is impressive and adds to the fun.
Overall this game is great, and may deserve a ten. the only cons i could think of are vary rare choppy animations. anyway, this should belong to any action-gamer or samurai nut, and can be enjoyable to just about anyone(exept my sixty year old dad). Buy or rent this, you will love it.
Thanx for reading!
