Great Graphics, but why is it rated M?43812

Richard from Bristol RI says (3/Jan/2005):
I liked this game a lot, but the thing that kills it, is the story mode. It is far too short, and the fun factor drops. each character is well done and anatomically correct, but the traditional wrestling titles still provide more action in the long run. If they added other matches, and made the story lines deeper, I would have to give it a ten. I also believe this title could have gotten a softer rating. Is a good wrestling title, but not great. Prehaps the creator who deserves our respect, will expand it in the possible sequel. Keep up the good work! I give it nine out of ten!

T&A with some substance-Rumble Roses delivers43195

Jimmy T from Detroit Michigan, USA says (14/Nov/2004):
Ah yes, who doesn’t love busty rendered hotties kicking the crap out of each other? Most gamers: whether they admit it or not.
This is what Konami is banking on with Rumble Roses, an all female wrestling game. The over-the-top, gravity-defining babes are composed of over 10,000 polygons-made by the same studio that designed the gals of DOA Extreme Beach Volleyball. Like DOA, you’ll be advancing through story modes and title matches with hopes of being rewarded skimpier costumes for the Roses.
All T&A jokes aside, Rumble Roses works. Based on the Smackdown! Engine, the fighting mechanics offer a nice balance of depth and ease. Reversals work smoothly and special moves can be pulled off when certain meters are filled-no crazy button combos. Fans of grappling games will find Roses’ controls more forgiving and ultimately familiar. Punches, grapples, submissions, and the old Irish Whip are all present. Of course many of the girls submission moves resemble freaky sex acts…
The story mode is pretty silly to put it mildly. Win half a dozen matches, face some weird cyborg chick and you’re done. Trust me, I couldn’t make that up. Beating the story mode unlocks some sexy attire for the Roses, so it’s all worth it in the end.
Believe it or not, Rumble Roses does do a few unique things. Each girl has a good and evil persona, predetermined at the game’s beginning. Beating the Story Mode with each girl will unlock her alter ego, whom you can then use play as. Roses’ Exhibition Mode offers a cool points system: Carry out certain “vows” set up before an impromptu match, and the “heel” or “face” status of your babe changes. Max out the attitude points in either direction and you’re in for a title shot. The reward for all this is Gallery Mode-see the Roses wiggling and jiggling in the locker room…with full camera control babycakes!
Certain moves will deplete the “confidence” meter of your hottie. When the gauge runs dry, a Humiliation Move can be executed (Oh yeah!). As erotic as this feature is, it still adds a nice dynamic to each match.
On the negative side Roses isn’t a very deep game. If you’re playing with yourself, um, BY yourself, you can unlock everything in 8 hours or so. Playing with a few of your drunken pals will give you hours of sick fun though.
Match customization and tag team matches are inexcusably absent and I kept wishing for a create-a-wrestler feature. Voice acting is spotty and the sound design is downright weak.
Despite a few flaws, Ruble Roses is the most refreshingly original wrestling title since the first Def Jam and holds its own against the graphically superior DOA franchise. I hope it sells well because a deeper sequel would be much appreciated.
Rumble Roses jiggles and bounces its way to an 8/10
