Metal Gear Solid 3:Snake Eater.46511

Cameron Callaway from Shellknob (missouri) USA says (28/Feb/2007):
this is the best game i have incounterd amongst all metal gear games. the graphics are incredable. i personally like how the creators still use solid snake, and the storyline is one of the best ive seen. ive always loved Hideo's games, this game has better graphics than any game ive seen and if there is a game with better graphics than this one they will never have snake in it or the awsome storylines that this talented team has put together. there is a variety of weapons to choose from from a granade launcher to a M1911A1 pistol with silencer. a Sniper rifle to an AK. another great attrebute to this game is the fighting form CQC=Close Quarters Combat. With this feature you can do several things from choke hold to sliting there throught. you can also interogate them by pressing R3. just a hint you should try shooting all 64 keroten froggs the green things that make a sound when shot.you might unlock something very cool. i have played this game for a year and have never got bored of it. also if you want to get MGS3 substance it is almost the same thing as snake eater and there is a few more camoflages and an online game, but i recomend you buy MGS3 snake Eater first. it is a great game and i promise you will never get bored if you liked the others before it or if you havent or maybe you have not even played it before. I hope you have fun with this game explore through the forest it has a great view. i would like to give the creators a personal thanks for this great game.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is a Cinematical-Like Masterpiece!45848

A gamer from From The Great U.S. OF A! ~Land Of The Free! says (21/Mar/2006):
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Personally, this game to me is outstanding and very emotional. It's like a gamers dream to be playing as Snake a new name, as from the previous title Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty. Metal Gear 3 won an award in my game collection as it should for you too! Meaning to say that no question that the graphics are a 10, the sound is pure and realistic as Snake hunts for wild animals for food as well as his enemies. Game play is a 10, but to new commers who has only played this title out of all the games would prolly be a 6 or a 7. I rate it a 10 for gameplay. Lifespan is looking good for Metal Gear Solid 3, as with a fully new updated version just released of this title so if you defeated Snake Eater and went on to MGS3: Subistance the lifespan will last for quite a long time up until the 4th title hits the shelves for the PS3. So, with that in mind the fun factor including the originality together is a 20. The value of Snake Eater "New" < remove me > at EB Games is $19.99 and for Subistance it is $29.99.
The brothers who put together this game has done a remarkable job with the storyline and it makes sense and hold your interest as you proceed as Snake in the game. All though, there is some babysitting for Snake involved. This occurs as you proceed towards the end of the game. So it does make the game challenging as you have to keep an important character in the game alive. The ending I am not going to go into a whole lot of detail but cinematically-like speaking it's a masterpiece of it's kind. Emotionally over all, this is a must have for all serious gamers and serious collectors!

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater43833

A gamer says (4/Jan/2005):
This game is excellent, TOP-OF-THE-LINE. I pre-ordered it way before it came out. This game is a largely improved MGS2 (Graphically, story-wise). The graphics are by far much better, the new jungle and run-down building environments are nice to see (As opposed to the same facility look of the first MGS and MGS2). Incredible detail to things such as fingers, faces, leaf texture, cracks in walls, dirt texture, pretty much everything. The game includes a new fighting technique called CQC (Close-Quarter-Combat). You hold people up by putting your knife to their throat. From here you can slit people's throats, interrogate, choke-break neck, choke-knock out, drag, use as a human sheild while aiming your weapon. You can also throw them down before or after holding them with your knife. You have all of the original features that you had on MGS2 (hanging from ledges, doing rolls on the ground, 1st person view with weapon, holding up, pull-ups while hanging from ledges, etc., etc. You get 28 camo's by finding and earning them throughout the game (2 extra camo's can be downloaded from the Konami site through network adaptor. There will probably be more in the future). There are 12 face paints. You have so many items in this game, that you use a backpack to store the items and weapons that you are not currently using. There are about 7 secret items to unlock for use in replaying the game. These are; Stealth Camouflage, Infinity Face Paint, EZ GUN (For easy-extreme), Tuxedo, Single Action Army, and the Patriot, and the Camera. There are also many in-game secrets. Anyways, this story is based in the 60's during the Cold War. The main character is called Solid Snake, however you are Big Boss before you earned the title "Big Boss". The end of the story explains why Big Boss turns against the government in MG and MG2. The game takes about a full day to beat, IF you watch all the cinematics (And if you are an average player). More ambitious players can finish it sooner. I completed the game about 16 times. The fastest I have beaten the game is in 2 hrs. 17 min (Earning the Doberman rank). I have beaten it 100% on Very Easy, Easy, Normal, and am in the process of beating Extreme. I have found all of the secret items, camo's, face-paints, Snake vs. Monkey secret items, secret weapons and bonus weapon stuff, all the Kerotan frog locations, all the food and herb locations, call-off alert frequencies (Very Easy-Normal), all the fire support frequencies (Very Easy-Normal), all the Healing Radio frequencies (Very Easy-Normal), the Tsuchinoko animal locations, etc., etc. I have created a list of everything that can possibly be done on Very Easy-Normal difficulties. If anyone needs help, send me an e-mail asking for this list. E-mail me at D00MDUDE< remove me > at AOL.com (Also, feel free to e-mail me questions about any of the other MGS games). If you haven't played this game yet, you must be retarded because its the best game on PS2 for this year. Even if you don't like the series, this game is worth having because it's much different and better from the other MG and MGS games. Overall, this game beats the original MGS, MGS: The Twin Snakes, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, and MGS2: Substance by FAR. And I mean it.

Second Best PS2 Game Of The Year43352

mike L from Brooklyn, NY, USA says (25/Nov/2004):
Besides the new Grand Theft Auto, this is the best game of the year. Anyone who doesn't think so is either burnt out or you have been living under a rock for the past 9 months. I reserved the game about six months before the release date. In 14 hrs and 39 sec. I beat the game and I must say that Hideo Kojima (please excuse me if I mispelled the name) has truly outdone himself with this project. MGS 3 is greatest Metal Gear game yet. Being a prequel, it fills in the question marks that have lingered over the two previous MGS titles. As near as I can tell, there aren't any dogtags to collect this time around, but there is a reocurring caracature, which some might recognize asa muppet. I think it's just for show, but it's a nice touch. The backpack, camoflauge and survival aspects of the game are phenominal. The camo is a little unrealistic though. There is no way a soldier, let alone a spy can carry over a dozen different camo outfits into the field without seriously hindering the low-profile approach that a spy needs to remain unseen, unless it's a ghillie suit where all that needs to be modified is the number and color of burlap straps that are tied on. But the Cure option and interrogation make up for that. Despite this one shortcoming, I only had the game lock up on me once because I was playing for eight hours, this game is flawless. Although it's sometimes hard to pick out your character if he's camoflauged right :-). P.S: If someone who works at Konami, or has a friend in the business, pass on compiments and praise to Mr. Kojima. All Hail Snake!
